Most prolly the control system allows the mecha and the controller to somehow become one; it allows greater control of the mecha, but at the same time it transfer the "pain" that the mecha feel too. Somewhat similar to Eva, minus the fact that it's a remote system.

Tho IMO weakness for (or any) remote controlled system is if the enemy employs heavy jamming, the mecha become sitting ducks
*
It is some sort of 5-sense system, examples: MATRIX, GITS, Brain-Computer Interface

basically, it is two way interaction between the device and the user, in order to maintain higher degree of awareness/motions, basically soul(brain circuit) is "connected" to the device. For activities with health risk, the major concern is how to tone down the "pain"/damage transfer from machine to human brain, in order to prevent brain self-induced damage to own body.

Its emergency bail-out system apparently still incomplete and require external aid to launch it, but still it is way better than Matrix ones.

Brain-hack is another issue raised in Ghost In The Shell anime.

Gakusei dakara.

Gullible student spotted. I find Shu more believable than inori. A singer that is quiet and lacks self confidence? Arienai.
----------- on a side note ----------------------
Gai's Leadership class 101.

To be a great leader.

1) You must project yourself as an obnoxious a$$h0l3 with a tragic secret.
2) You must project yourself as an obnoxious a$$h0l3 with a tragic secret.
3) You must project yourself as an obnoxious a$$h0l3 with a tragic secret.
.
.
.
101) Also be able to take down and Endlave with just a pistol and a grappling hook.

And I'm amazed Shu is still on speaking terms with Inori. With the remark she gave in Ep 5, it's a wonder he hasn't emo'ed himself to death with his personality.
*
Inori might good in singing, but not good with handling emotion thingy...

Shu might having problem in dealing with others, but he just being honest to his feeling and strong.

It is logical shu haven emo himself to 14 floor cause, he already expect inori not able to open her heart easily(but still feel shocked when being told that Inori's gentleness is instructed by Gai)

-__-" episode 12... why must stab together? he cant go stab from side meh? also, this episode make me understand why gai 'gives' the power to shu. but wtf episode 12... it looks like cram all the explanation and want to end it right there. i almost though it end with 12 episodes. so inori isnt human or that guy literally means she was not human for him and just merely a tool?
*
Inori ==> clone bodies synced for Mana's "rebirth"

All seems logical to me, except two part it din explain well:

1. The origin/aftermath of Apocalypse Virus for this event

2. WTF of this ball of shield covering Shuu & Inori when building collapsing?

Erm you can say it like, trauma on brain can cause damage on other body parts if not "BAIL-OUT" safely.

The moment Souta claimed he only able to open cans, and Hare died for his ignorance, made me realized:

Void differs from person;
Its integrity based on the user's integrity(personality)

Shu know the best for himself:

Facing conflict is way different for survival:

1. Run away from it ==> failed as it caused mission failed ultimately game over, that time still got Gai cover up
2. Facing it with naive thinking ==> will only cause the death of all those close to him(this time hare died caused by his indecisiveness of applying ranking system, definitely someone close to him will die next time)
3. And thus, in order to compensate Hare confession, the least he can do is to act on Hare's "last word"(suggested him to be the King), by his best

4. How to be a real deal as the King? Solve the dangers by using the tools effectively(since he got the power to access it forcefully, eg: decisively pulled out inori's void a.k.a the imba blade)

5. After the combat, Shu regretted his late action(he is just playing around before Hare's death) and realized he actually got the power, at very least able to minimize the danger for everyone and survive.

About why he want to implement Void ranking system(example):

Souta's Void==> Unlocking ability

Used by Shu ==> Able to use to unlock facilities with heavy security

Used by Souta ==> Can opener(what else?)

Vast difference of these two users with same Void ==> Integrity of the user's personality

You can train hard to use a handgun effectively and efficiently(as Souta want Shu draw his void for his "practice", OR by opening unlimited cans), but it wont make the handgun more powerful.

In order to improve the void form to a more powerful version, somehow the Void owner need to experience some paradigm shift on personality side.

Void form type ==> based on Void owner
Void powderfulness ==> based on Void user's integrity(personality-wise)

So we can see that Void ranking system is not always be static, as it promotes competitiveness for survival./

Well, the stress of Void ranking system on Shu is just temporary, as everything moves again.

Inori seems infected by Mana's remains(quite easily as she is clone?)
