Good animation and Ryo tier music, though everything else is pretty weak...
Hopefully the story would develop further or this would be another wasted potential. |

QUOTE(TitaniumZ @ Oct 21 2011, 08:09 PM) A little Code Geass feel in Ep.02 There's a few things that make me remember Code Geass from this episode with some added flavor.I mean how does Gai knows what weapon Shu can draw out from certain person? If he made a mistake there the outcome will be totally different. - King Power/Ability of The King/Kings Mark that Shu got - destroying floor to disable mecha + fallen building - civilian execution + mother and son drama - keikaku doori + totally unexpected asspull One of the few thing that I couldn't digest right now is how a remotely controlled mecha transfer the pain/damage it received to the pilot and the fact that the pilot could've died if the mecha is destroyed. I can't help to think that the writer is just trying to be different for the sake of being different, and at the same time doesn't want to stray from usual core of mecha anime, the death of the pilot and the life they risked. Also, the whole concept of 'drawing power from friendship' were utterly stomped when Shu uses his power on a stranger he barely meet whom he probably hate for the murder that is committed in front of his eyes. I can't express how much I hope this could be better, but seeing how bad the writing and the direction is currently, I shouldn't expect that much. |

QUOTE(Hezegroth @ Oct 31 2011, 11:51 PM) The Void will return to the user afterwards if I'm not mistaken. So far ep3 is the worst episode in terms of the screenplay, but can't help to fell in love with Shu's apartment, it was well designed! XD |

QUOTE(reflywonder @ Nov 18 2011, 07:29 PM) depends la. lelouch power is passive mind control. shu is active combat power. lelouch wants world domination. shu just wants the girl. GC is have the core element of battle/action anime where the mc actually wield a weapon and beat up his opponent directly as oppose to CG. But instead of using the typical mc of such genre they ended up with Shu.Just like what I've said before, this show is trying to be different and at the same time didn't want to separate them self from the core element of such genre. Such element is what Noitamina aimed to be right now, to broaden their audience as wide as they can. |

QUOTE(reflywonder @ Dec 4 2011, 07:45 PM) Just watched episode 8. So, Void can evolve too? Somebody better make a Persona-type game with guilty crown settings. Hear that, Atlus? I have a script in my mind for a guilty crown fan fic now. Wonder if I will ever write it down? I bet you could write better than whoever is currently on the writer seat(s)! |

QUOTE(Kenzany @ Dec 5 2011, 08:59 PM) Gai talk to Shu for a minute and slowly walk towards the nekogirl before the attack happens.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I'm treating this anime like a music video, just listen and watch, but never brain it. |

QUOTE(lencent @ Feb 23 2012, 07:15 PM) Please no. This is is horribly done, I am extremely disappointed by it, pushing this any further would only lead to one way down of this trainwreck. High production value but it felt short in the most critical point, writings and direction. |

QUOTE(kurogane @ Mar 8 2012, 09:47 PM) You're the wrong one here, those show you listed are generally heavy and aimed at mature audience. QUOTE(kurogane @ Mar 8 2012, 09:47 PM) ...what? Than all that left is just animation and audio, please don't tell me those were the reason why you watched an anime. |

QUOTE(CZero @ Mar 8 2012, 10:13 PM) The only answer is no, or more precisely there is no correct answer for that question.Just like every other form of entertainment, anime is highly subjective both in medium and the content itself. Because of this subjective nature, each individuals hold their own opinions and thus, this 'reason' is pretty much different from each and every person. Added on March 8, 2012, 10:39 pm QUOTE(kurogane @ Mar 8 2012, 10:21 PM) They aren't so much aimed at "mature audience" than at the "otaku crowd". Of course i only listed a selected number of shows because the real market of anime in Japan is towards kids and young teenagers. Are you going to tell me a comedy anime like Daily Lives of High School Boys or Baby Please Kill Me is only for 18+ audiences? QUOTE(kurogane @ Mar 8 2012, 10:21 PM) There's an objective value and subjective value to everything. If you are going to judge everything by an objective value, I truly pity for your future. I'm sorry, but what? This post has been edited by missingNo: Mar 8 2012, 10:39 PM |

QUOTE(nazrul90 @ Mar 8 2012, 11:20 PM) ...I honestly enjoying every minute of this.QUOTE(kurogane @ Mar 8 2012, 10:58 PM) Lol, if you're gonna deny it without giving me something concrete to justify that I'm wrong then please don't even start. Anime in Japan can be said as the same as cartoons for Western audiences. You can compare the figures for a shounen manga vs a seinen manga and you'll quickly see the reason why the "Big Three" last so damn long in Japan. Even for anime home video sales, why do you think they can produce over 300 episodes of One Piece and over 200 episodes of Gintama non-stop? It's because there's enough people buying the media to justify it. Again and again, you are wrong.Well, maybe One Piece isn't going to be a good example since it's been running so long, most of the kids who grew up reading it are already working adults (I know I am one). There are other kid focused anime series that do qualify, like say Digimon, that yo-yo show, and even Shin-chan too. Hell, even Gundam is going this route with Gundam AGE. Right now I honestly believes that you do not know what the hell are talking and but you sure took the effort typing all those pointless babbling. QUOTE(kurogane @ Mar 8 2012, 10:58 PM) Finally, for the objective and subjective value... please do your own thinking and try to look up what those two words mean. Here let me give you an example to kick you off: Objective - TV ratings, Sales figures, production budgets Subjective - Fan reactions, Review ratings. Your own personal feelings about a show. QUOTE(kurogane @ Mar 8 2012, 10:58 PM) I hope that will be illuminating enough for you, because I don't intend to spare more words for you if you are going to be deflecting me with ad hominems. Oh my, ad hominem? All I did is point out your baseless assumptions, of which is what it really was.I don't think I need to attack you personally, you've already done a great job degrading yourself with each and every post you made. QUOTE(Silencers @ Mar 8 2012, 11:56 PM) A key component to enjoying anime is to have fun with other people who are watching the show. Regardless of whether or not the show is good (objectively/subjectively speaking), I find great entertainment in talking/b****ing/whining about the things I watch with people who know what I'm talking about. If you take any of the comments too seriously, or get terribly offended by plain text, you lose one the best things about enjoying anime as a pastime. |

^ Oh my, thank you very much for, but I am not as highly as what that image makes me.
QUOTE(Silencers @ Mar 9 2012, 01:37 AM) As for you, I have no idea what point you're trying to make - or if you're trying to make one for that matter. The latter, as of course. QUOTE(lencent @ Mar 9 2012, 02:49 AM) story telling time... since they have unfold the past, wonder what else they can tell in the game... Lost Xmass is a spinoff rather than a prequel/sequel or something, so I won't be worried much about since obviously they can and will came up with a much better story than what GCrown has. This post has been edited by missingNo: Mar 9 2012, 11:01 AM |

QUOTE(Silencers @ Mar 9 2012, 11:29 AM) Oh, you weren't trying to make any points? Just mindless drivel without contributing anything to the discussion? Okay, that clears up a lot of things. Good job! I already stated my intention before, just trying to point out a wrong statement so that it won't be taken as a fact by others.I didn't make any point or stating anything else aside from that, thats pretty much it. ^ Agreed.
This weeks episode is actually pretty decent the best of what GCrown has to offer so far, most probably due to lack of Shu and the actual effort they put into delivering the story. But then again it was pretty much ruined by the cringeworthy ending. |

I...
...well, it was my own fault for expecting anything decent at the final episode. Fullmetal Alchemist reference is a nice touch though. |
