QUOTE(ken2291 @ Jun 13 2011, 12:09 AM) no overscroll glow? or u don like it Overscroll bounce is much better but I don't see them implemented much at all except in Faryaab F1 JVP V5 Added on June 13, 2011, 9:53 amQUOTE(cradle0fFilth @ Jun 13 2011, 01:57 AM) thx bro. i shall wait further then. i cant take the cell stanby bug.. at times, i need to charge my phone in the office which is very inconvenience! Added on June 13, 2011, 2:00 ambro. i m havin the somehow similar setup as you, Ramad deodexed JVP, speedmod K15H-T 5so far so good. You can try F1 JVP V6. Its a great rom. Some how the Cell Standby only happen after I do a rom flash. After that it didn't happen again. Just do a nandroid backup of your current rom and give F1 a try. Only take you a few minutes to restore to your old rom if you don't like it. This post has been edited by lightning69: Jun 13 2011, 09:53 AM

QUOTE(sliqueliques @ Jun 13 2011, 03:00 AM) Just want to flash JVP. After flash all the apps gone? Im using titanium backup apps. How to recover the apps back if all apps gone include the backup apps? sorry noob question.. never done flashing rom yet using odin..last time flashing to JV9 using Kies only. I am the other round...only odin. Well I have been using Titanium backup and so far it works well. Just copy your titanium folder in the internal SD card to your PC just in case you accidently format the internal SD card. When you flash new roms, the contents in the internal SD card remains so you can just reinstall Titanium and start restoring your backups.

QUOTE(ken2291 @ Jun 13 2011, 09:57 AM) can explain the Cell Standby bug?? Ok. I have flash 3 GB rom so far. First is stock, then Darky V10.1 and now F1 JVP V5. So everytime after I finish flashing the rom, I will start doing the usual customisation like installing GoLauncher and setting it up. Titanium backup to restore my apps and data etc to get my phone back to my normal settings. I don't have any phone line or wifi here cos I'm in the middle of south China sea off thailand coast so I always put my phone on Airplane mode. And i hardly use my phone except for alarm. But then the battery would start to drop and when I check my battery usage, the Cell Standby is on top like 50%-80% depending on how long the phone is on. On 2 occasion I have like 50% battery left before i go to bed and by the next morning the battery is dead. So it use up like 50% of the battery on Airplane mode while i'm sleeping. But after I recharge my phone the next day, the Cell Standby problem is gone and my phone can be on standby the wholeday and only use up like 2% of the battery.

QUOTE(KH Cheah @ Jun 13 2011, 09:59 AM) Flash to 2.3.4 last nite. Went to bed with 60% battery. Woke up this morning, phone couldnt turn on. Totally dead. Had to pull out battery to re-start. But noticed still got 30% battery. Anyone faced similar problem? Never faced this problem with dxjv9. Battery is pretty good with dxjv9. I think you have the cell standby problem just like mine. Should be ok after you recharge.

QUOTE(reehdus @ Jun 13 2011, 10:30 AM) I have cell standby at around 60% which I guess is pretty high. I normally finish charging my phone just before bed every night, so I leave my phone on. My battery only drops around 5% overnight. I'm on 2.3.3 JV9. Does the standby bug only hit if I haven't charged the phone? Meaning do I see the drop at around 70% battery only? It happen to me right after i flash new rom everytime. I solution is to take out the battery like for 30secs and put back. Then it will be gone hopefully for good as I have not seen it come back yet. Added on June 13, 2011, 10:41 amQUOTE(ken2291 @ Jun 13 2011, 10:30 AM) I think it's ur customisation after u flash.. I never have tat problem.. try not to customise after flash next time and see if it drains?? but anyway, it's good tat it only happens for the 1st time can't imagine it happen every nite Probably it is, but it should not as we always customize out phone. Could be a bug in one of the program I use. This post has been edited by lightning69: Jun 13 2011, 10:41 AM

QUOTE(reehdus @ Jun 13 2011, 10:49 AM) could it be a battery synchronization problem? Normally you're advised to have 100% battery for flashing new ROM for sync purposes. I've experienced the battery incorrectly showing high battery values when I'm pretty sure my battery was low. This happened to me after flashing Darky's 9.1 or something a long time back. No. I always charge full before I flash.

QUOTE(gaarared @ Jun 15 2011, 03:36 PM) Looks like everyone suggest to buy HTC even though they use samsung.. haha why? HTC has better implementation of Adroid out of the box. Software update also better. I did try my cousin's Desire HD without any mod and its so smooth. SGS is trying so hard flashing rom everyday just to get there.

QUOTE(maxis1216 @ Jun 15 2011, 06:15 PM) Helpp... just flash "XXJVP_Deodexed_Zipaligned_MultiCSC_signed" then, the phone reboot as normal...Okla Then try to flash "speedmod-kernel-k15h-t8b-300hz" using odin but after click start, it shows FAILED message. now cannot start the phone. cannot go to download mood and recovery mode also. take out battery, then on the phone the pic of something like phone to computer connection error come out.. what should i do...waaaa I think you have brick you phone. If i am mistaken, updating kernel is updating the bootloader and if it fails then you brick you phone as there is no way for the phone to boot anymore.

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Jun 16 2011, 08:29 AM) if you have budget, better go for SGS 2. much more powerful then SGS though. lol, but when i read reviews about Galaxy S plus, seems like it much faster than Galaxy S somehow. well, there is 2.3.4 update right now and you might wanna try that. it's awesome. I think the price of plus and SGS2 is almost a grand difference. So SGS plus might be a better choice if you don't want to spend too much. Added on June 16, 2011, 8:42 amQUOTE(gkl83 @ Jun 16 2011, 08:39 AM) erm.. what the differences between the Galaxy S (RM1299) selling at senheng and Galaxy S (ori @ RM1600) selling at LYN... noob here as i no used smart phone before yet and my hp dying now... I think they are exactly the same. This post has been edited by lightning69: Jun 16 2011, 08:42 AM

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Jun 16 2011, 08:52 AM) uninstall quadrant, it is a poor benchmark for hummingbird chip used in galaxy s. senheng is selling galaxy sl, not this galaxy s i9000 Now that explain it. I think the best deal is get the AP SGS which is about RM1250 for 8GB.

Here is a printscreen of my battery usage for my SGS running on F1 JVP V5 with Kernel Dark Core 2.7.3. Its on Airplane mode all the time and so far the battery usage under standby is very good. Added on June 16, 2011, 9:09 amQUOTE(gkl83 @ Jun 16 2011, 09:04 AM) many thanks.. at least cleared my doubts... Btw, what is your budget? Are you the kind of person who would like to flash your phone's firmware and do a lot of customisation? If not, then stay away from Samsung phone. Out of the box they are not good at all. Bufung...you signature as shown below is wrong.
"ISO is ISO Aperture is Aperture Shutter speed is shutter speed.
Shutter is how much light you want allow your lens to absorb"
The lens only allow light to pass through. It is the sensor that is "absorbing" the light if that is what you want to call it. Furthermore the shutter speed alone don't determine how much light pass thru the lens. Its is both shutter speed and Aperture that determine how much light pass thru the lens.
Anyway this is out of topic but I just thought you should know.

QUOTE(RoxyMunky @ Jun 16 2011, 03:17 PM) ya... icejoker is being very very helpful and patience in guiding me through it. you can see how many questions i've asked along the way... btw, flashing with Odin is really straightforward. You just need to download the correct files and that's it. im now on GB 2.3.4 XXJVP as shown below: yesterday on 2.3.3 XXJVO: I see that you are on stock JVP. why not try cutom JVP? This one looks really good. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982237It's a lot easier to flash now since you're already on GB. Just need to go to recovery mode and do a wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, and wipe dalvik cache and the install the cutom rom from zip. No need Odin install anymore.
