u can.android is not like iphone.just go inside settings>wireless and networks>usb settings and put direct transfer.den plug inside ur com and start transferring.

haha.normal la.but i really hate using itunes.it make my pc slow.drag and drop easy to the max.

different ppl have different need..like me, am not so likely hear music from my phone, so i don't really need itunes. but i transfer lot of file to my phone, that y drag and drop suit me more..

the only difference for me is that I use Linux at home. Mr. jobs does not like Linux users, no iTunes love for us.

I use an iPhone 4 and I dislike iTunes. I prefer using USB file transfer because it's universal and I don't need to install Apple's software. Also if I want to select an MP3/OGG file as a ringtone I first have to convert it to .m4r then use iTunes to drag and drop. And as for SMS tones it's impossible even with iTunes unless I jailbreak.

Well, if you like iphone so much, why bother urself using SGS? 

MP3 is one thing, but having iTunes to convert all your video files is such a pain. Luckily SGS supports direct transfer and most codec.

i'm not quite sure what you mean by breaking the sync between each update of itunes. this never happens to me.

even though i'm not here to decide which one of the platform is better but I can't deny the apple side has got better store ecosystem and economy. keeping everything under itunes supports the existence of the system where by people can buy songs, apps, books, podcast all controlled under 1 hood.

the convenience or freedom it's just the matter of preference. so far I finds that having too much freedom in android isn't appeal that much to certain developers and mass users.

Meaning if you decide that you want to use another software to manage your media, the next update for itunes and iOS will break the sync support for that software. Apple will want to lock you into using Itunes.

The reason is very simple. Other software like winamp or banshee in Linux has their own music store or podcast. This scares apple to death. They want people to buy music from itunes (they make 30% cut from it), not from another music store.

Having a software that manages all your media, podcasts, ebooks and all that is very nice. However, when you are forced to use buggy itunes only, it is an disadvantage to consumer POV because they are restricted to one choice only.

That is a monopoly. I like a platform where competition is present because it will always spur better innovations.

if the owner wants to play fair, they should allow healthy competition and not tell them "I'm always the best, dont go elsewhere, its dangerous"

so look back, whats the difference with locking the door? freedom is something we have, simplicity is something we desire, if the desire comes with a T&C then i might as well enjoy my freedom

I've had an Ipod and I currently have an SGS. I've used ITunes on the Ipod and Itunes to sync music to my SGS as well. I've also used winamp to wirelessly sync music to my android device. I know you can't sync music wirelessly over ITunes...unless they've changed that. My opinion is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We had this exact same discussion about Apple vs Android tens of pages ago started by the same guy who started this argument again. Can't we just agree to disagree and continue discussing more productive stuff? Like how we helped darkz88 solve his flashing problem? Btw lightning69, hows ur GPS issue?

in GB the main culprit of battery sucking is Android OS...2.3.4 GB seemed to solve it...

GB release consist of GPS fix...so i believed your is well perform as it is..here how to check whether you gps is working or not

1) go to market and download GPS test app (free)
2) go to settings > location and security > tick gps sattelites and tick sensor aiding, do not tick use wireless networks(this use data)
3) open gps test app and take note gps locking time, it will take some time for the first try..

windows 7 has a feature that lets it act as a wifi access point. You can connect your phone to your laptop by wifi.

i'm using connectify in my laptop..making my laptop a hotspot...i'm using it with my sgs from froyo until gingerbread..no problem...with no hassle.
