All new executive (E1) starting salary RM4000.

After a year in service, you will get increment depend on position/job critical.

Normally technical position will get ++500, geologist will get more.

*** no more allowance except shift, offshore..etc

4K for fresh grad and once you go for your technical interview and you're considered in the scarce skillsets (usually Skill Group 10 and Skill Group 09 - Petroleum Engineering and Geoscience) then you will get extra technical allowances.

Career advancement is accelerated, previously with the Grade 20-32 system, it takes on average 3 years for a promotion (from one grade to another) but with the new Grade system (E1-E7), you are expected to be promoted within 5 years for each grade and in the case of those outstanding staff, E3 will come bay within 6-7 years

There are Non-Bumis is Top Management in Petronas, the EVP for the E&P business is a Non-Bumi, the EVP for Finance is Non-Bumi, the VP for Carigali Domestic is Non-Bumi ...

So how many Bumi in Public Bank is in the top management? Let's not go this route shall we.

I am not arguing with you but just to correct your statement you made.

I do not agree with you that Public Bank got lesser bumi in top managment positions:-

Abu Hassan Assari bin Ibrahim - CEO Public Islamic
Abd Razak bin Md Dali - Senior General Manager
Sulaiman bin Abd Manap - Senior General Manager
Nasaruddin bin Arshad - Chief Economist Officer
Salmah bt Mohd Yunus (Cik) - Group HR Manager
Nizam bin Hj Zainal Abidin - Group Security Director.... etc etc

and many more as I lazy to cut & paste... a simple Google search will reveal that.

if non bumi can get d lesen to start another oil comp, petronas has no stand.
if non bumi can get d lesen to start another car manufacturing comp, proton will close down, n look at boon siew n hong leong yammie
anyway, MAS has alot of bumi n airasia is not dominated by bumi, who s making moolah

Added on June 8, 2011, 8:11 pmwhat i wanna say is... if non bumi can have d lesen to open a oil company,
we dun even look at petronas,

wat a narrow mindset u have there.. it also apply to those MNC that majority is non-bumis.. I work with 2 MNC and your quote "just for the sake n doing all d donkey work for them n those non-bumis will take d credit n shake leg" can apply at there.. lets not be racist and try to prevent the discussion on racist matter.. TS ask about salary meh not who majority or minority..

For fresh graduate, 3.5k to 4k is acceptable...Even so lucky if get that basic.

But, i wonder Petronas will pay that amount to new and freshies person..

There s a lot thing to arrange; training/monitoring and etc..

But, for experience from another company (at least 5 years) and go to petronas, can go as high as 10k plus allowance.
(my sis in law did that).

Need to gain experience before achieve that level. sweat.gif

Fresh grad get 4k starting salary. no matter what race u are. plus all the benefits..n bonus at the end of financial year. refer to azraiel post. he is one of Petronas staff.
I did benefit from the new salary scale. but recently change to a new company (no longer with PET) with higher salary.

if u are interested to join, can apply. Petronas is making big money rite now. if u have experience, u can nego with HR.

Correction. I worked with PETRONAS before. I had a lot of friends that are non bumi and it really pisses me off when people start saying that PETRONAS is racist etc. What a load of crap. I hired so many Malaysians when I was in PETRONAS and to have some Tom d*** and Harry saying that it's only for show also pisses me off.

Anyway, PETRONAS pay now is very competitive and they have also decided to accept those ex-workers who left before, maybe I will return there someday.
