Actually, this card is among the best I have used. Points plus unlimited cash back (useful when I helped my boss purchase tickets, car servicing charges in C&C, etc), Jogoya discounts, etc. Only OCBC better it in terms of total amount of cash back for the amount of money I really spent.

Now waiting for 25% cash back to credit into my account. Max it kao kao.

• Free 11,000 ChoicePoints for RM50 GST payment (make 3 transactions of any amount within the GST month*)

I just notice this. Is this due to termination request or stated black and white somewhere? Can I request for it now, having paid the GST in march? tongue.gif

Let us know if you succeeded in getting the 11000 Choice Points creditted.
You should have called them in March the moment you see the GST.
Subsequently, call the CS and they will offer 11000 ChoicePoints directly (no need to threaten them)

Just something to share, stand chart CC took me 6 mths to receive to my hand.

1) I tell them must send to my current place but was insisted to be send back hometown which is 300km away.
2) The system will cancel the card if not active in 1 wk if not wrong.
3) Instructions given that will come and collect the card at branch was not follow, so need rerequest.
4) The CC card must be receive personally by the card requester.
5) The customer service and staff r very lansi, because they oversea bank.
6) Government service tax was waive and a lot of funny excuses
7) ATM machine claims to run 24 hours not working

So, what so good about stand chart card....

11 000 points for GST, there many other banks is much lower than tat...

R u going to spend yearly 11k? Logical?

This is the real experience above....maybe u guys here are to good so will not experience the above....

It all depends on your spending pattern...

You only need 10,000 Choice Points to get the RM50 credit card tax waived. Standard Chartered is giving you 1,000 extra yet you are scolding them. I personally think Standard Chartered is very generous. Try to ask other banks such as CIMB Bank, Citibank, HSBC or Maybank if they are going to offer you the same thing.

Not really, CIMB Direct Access is 10k also but the can claim at 5k point = RM25, 2.5K point get RM12.50

HLB if not wrong is less than 10k points, around 8k or 9k if i not remember wrong....

All CIMB Bank does is to give you a more flexible choice by redeeming the GST in full or just partial of it. But seriously, the point value is still EXACTLY the same. And CIMB Bank won't be so generous to offer you free points to offset the credit card tax. At CIMB, you actually need to spend RMxxxx yourself before you'll have any points to redeem the credit card tax. However, you don't need to do the same with Standard Chartered credit card because they are so generous that they give you free points which you can use to redeem the credit card tax without having to fork out your own hard earned points or money.

Well, you are wrong. You also need 10k points to redeem the RM50 credit card tax at Hong Leong Bank. HSBC is the lowest actually for just 9,500 points.

Not saying Standard Chartered is good. Just that they are generous with all the free points they give to their credit card holders to redeem the credit card service tax.

OCBC Titianium MasterCard is way better. And then there is this Maybankard 2 cards. There are dedicated threads for these two products. Do check it out.

thanks, bro but never met the agent....

Maybank walk in is it?

Just asking, wat do u think of HLB Fortune?

It gives 1% cashback and if the cashback not withdraw, then they give interest based on 3 months FD interest (current interest 3.9%)...

So far spend d, now waiting for 2nd statement to c the interest....

Besides the CSR sucks in follow up things just need to push a bit, others ok la....
