Just got my seat replaced coz of the stupid "knocking" sensation felt at the back of the seat. Warranty claimed took 1.5 weeks. Got it fixed within 5 hours. Well, sent the car to the SC 10am, got it back 3pm.

The problem is the white PLASTIC thing shown on this pic, (for those who wanna know how the inside of the seat looks like). According to the Service manager, this is the only seat so far for Honda, which comes with the white supportive part as PLASTIC, instead of Metal. So he's looking at many warranty claims to come later in the future, he also say headache when he saw the part made of plastic instead of metal.

So yeah, this is part and parcel of Honda trying to reduce costs.... (or trying to make the car lighter) by putting in plastic supportive back seats. (or watever they call it). He say "heavy" people will tend to come back more for this seat warranty -.- . Or some ppl having certain "activities" in their cars. haha.
Honda if you're reading this, pls recall the seats!

Actually, both the front seats are the same design, just a matter of time, when the seat gonna make noise and start knocking u.
I went to MH Prestige, Bdr Sri Dsara, Kepong. Just look for the service advisor there, tell them your problem, and ask for a new seat warranty claim.

I prefer Black color coz the view from the back is nice, coz the real glass is black also.

so moral of the story - if want to do notti things in yr IN2 backseat, faster go do before yr warranty is up!

omg...so with the new warranty...is the seat material still the same? made from plastic? How much does i cost ?

fuh, then i gotta go shake shake and bang hard on the seat, see whether got any problem or not... b4 warranty is up.

So they still replace with PLASTIC part? if plastic wont the problem will came back later? Honda should recall la this seat.

BTW i think i can get my car by end of this week. Or by end of this month. whatever...

Yes the seat is still the same. The cost for a new seat apparently is RM2K++, after warranty.

Yeah, unfortunately so, the replaced seat is still with the PLASTIC part, and yeah, its just a matter of time when the seat will wear off again...
Well according to Brian the SC Manager there, he says, the plastic part is replaceable with a metal part if given to a cushion expert, however, with that done, the seats' warranty would then be void. Hence, he said unless its after warranty, he does not recommend it.
I would say, unless alot of people go claim for a new seat, honda wouldn't recall the seats unnecessarily and said its their fault in putting in a cheap part in the seat.

This is the first time i heard got problem with seat...

Maybe you are referring to the main frame for both passenger and driver are the same because if i remember correctly, driver side got adjustable height thing which passenger side don't.

Can't they just replace the plastic piece instead of the entire frame?

The RM2k++ is for the entire complete seat right?

Do you mind to share the picture of broken part?

Guys I need help:
I took my insight to the guys on the lowyat forum with to smoke the headlamp.
I noticed after doing the smoked headlamp that when I turn on the lights the lens looked quite dirty (the halogen lamp) to my horror there are scratches on the lens on the inside. Now I don't know what to do. My options are
1. buy a whole new set of honda insight headlamps which will cost a bomb and not sure where to buy only found some on ebay for rm1300
2. try to find some place that can get rid of the scratches inside the lens
3. upgrade to eagle eye lights but the problem is they are not even out for honda insight
Please help help help

if you are in PG... i can recc you my mechanic who can strip open yr headlamp... and replace just the lens itself. if you're from KL, sorry... wish i could help. suggest finding a mechanic there... who can do the same for yr car?

Yes I was referring to the mainframe of the seats being same.
As both seats have the same plastic back support and design.

Yeah , RM2K++ is for the entire seat. No parts separately sold as the seat is from Japan. So if order have to order the whole thing, well thats what I was told la, as I enquired if they would replace the faulty part inside, or would they replace the whole seat. They gave me the whole seat at the end.

Sorry do not have a close up picture of the faulty part, but the picture I took was the faulty chair.

Guys, side topic, by getting the speedo green all the time can get >20km/l? My typical fuel consumption is around 18-19km/l, if go highway can only get 20-21km/l. Saw some of the forumers got till 23-24lm/l. How la?

Currently using shell ron 95. Anyone has compared with other fuel types?
