GK - i dunno whether de gea is done deal (but cross finger it is).
Defend - evans and smalling is good, but........ we need a really steady center half to cover vida and ferdy.
Midfield - youngster can step up, got pogba, morisson, cleverly, etc
Striker - macheda and welbeck, for me has the quality to back our main striker.

just my 2cents

well if we are to go full youngster mode, the defense line has some bright prospects as well: Wotton, Tunicliffe, Gill drool.gif drool.gif

nay!!rather meet them in final and beat them there and there to put the demon to bed or else forever they will say greatest, unbeatable etc etc.

thats why im really hoping that we can reach the final next season no matter how tough it is and they must be there too.too many unfinished business with barca right now.

Let me give all of you my view regarding young coming to manchester united. Most of you will question, why sign another winger when we have nani, valencia, obertan and bebe?

To me, he is more than just a winger. He adds a different dimension to our team, he is well known for his trickery and pace on the flanks which we don't have(nani is skillful but the pace is different). He will not only fill up the gap at the left midfield when giggs retire but as well provide challenge to nani. Why i say he's more than an ordinary winger? If you check last season(2010/2011), he plays as a support striker quite often and the best thing is he gives us more option in set-piece taking. He's a regular penalty taker for aston villas as well as their free-kick taker. This gives us a lot of advantages, despite relying on CR to take them in the past, and we have more options to take set-piece aside from giggs, nani and rooney. Don't you think that's good? No hanky panky, he is the vice captain of aston villa, and has led the team a couple of times, which i hope he will add more leadership onto our team. Besides being an english and homegrown, he's at peak age...which im sure lots of team will compete to sign him.

He's is a player full of quality, which is why he was listed in the premier league team of the year twice. I hope my statement will answer your doubts, let us start rebuilding our squad now..feel free to add your comments smile.gif

it depends how SAF see Young as Forward /Secondary Striker or winger. i didnt watch Villa matches much, but i think he's more a Forward /Secondary Striker recently and play much centrally. last season he was (much) a left winger.

if rumour are true, he's the replacement for Berba (i dont believe it). Nani also will be the one threaten by this transfer, though i firmly believe Nani is much better (and younger), except in set pieces. and IMO Cleverly is young CM playing as LW.

not excited by this transfer, but he'll definitely improve our squad. plus his versatility, set pieces capability, English factor, etc.

From manutd.com

Scholes retires - but stays at OT

Paul Scholes has decided it is time for him to hang up his boots and retire from playing football.

Paul was part of the new wave of talent that came through to the first team during the mid-90's. He scored twice on his debut in the League Cup at Port Vale in the 1994/95 season and since then has enjoyed a long a successful career, making an incredible 676 appearances for the Club.

Paul will take on a coaching role with the Club from the start of next season. Fans will also have the opportunity to see Paul play again at Old Trafford in his testimonial match in August.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: "What more can I say about Paul Scholes that I haven't said before. We are going to miss a truly unbelievable player. Paul has always been fully committed to this Club and I am delighted he will be joining the coaching staff from next season. Paul has always been inspirational to players of all ages and we know that will continue in his new role."

Paul Scholes said: "I am not a man of many words but I can honestly say that playing football is all I have ever wanted to do and to have had such a long and successful career at Manchester United has been a real honour. This was not a decision that I have taken lightly but I feel now is the right time for me to stop playing. To have been part of the team that helped the Club reach that 19th title is a great privilege.

Adding to the squad would mostly be the reason. Strengthening and adding to the overall quality of the squad, and experienced EPL player. Most likely

the younger forwards would be loaned out again, next season to gain experience. On the subject of squad, another young midfield player wouldn't be

bad. Someone to replace Hargreaves as the cover for the backline. Someone in the mold of Makalele at least. Roy Keane as well but he is on another

level. He was more than just a midfield enforcer. In that case, we could mix and match the midfield trio/duet depending on the tactics, amongst

Anderson, Fletcher, Carrick and Giggsy (we shouldnt rely too much on him next season, could be super-sub blush.gif )

so we are one step closer to the "busier transfer window" with Scholes' retirement eh? biggrin.gif

but what a legend he was....10BPL titles....second only to another living legend, Giggs....thank you Scholes for providing the magical passes; thunderous long range shots....and ahem "well-timed" tackles lol
