I'm not sure whether mine still malaysia region firmware or not since I've used flashtool before. Before this i'm using seus to update to 2.3.3 and to have rooted 2.3.3, I was using this method from xda ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1115542 ) to downgrade and update again via OTA to 2.3.3. And this morning I received the firmware updates notification to update through PC and not OTA. how know I'm on malaysia region firmware? btw below is my current info: Android version 2.3.3 Baseband version 7x30A-AAABQMAZM-1290_21-22 Kernel version 2.6.32.9-perf SEMCUser@SEMCHost #1 Build number 3.0.1.A.0.145 This post has been edited by exkaizen: Aug 10 2011, 01:00 PM

QUOTE(Ultima @ Aug 10 2011, 01:02 PM) How to find your customization number: - Go to the dialer and press *#*#7378423#*#* - Go to service info - Go to software info u can see customization version there.. but i guess u on global generic as uve done the ota upgrade to preserve the root right? only tht region firmware can get root through ota for .145 firmware.. my customization version: 1247-1061-R12C and malaysia should be what? Added on August 10, 2011, 1:13 pmQUOTE(exkaizen @ Aug 10 2011, 01:04 PM) my customization version: 1247-1061-R12C and malaysia should be what? read from here there's way to 'fool' seus http://hp-gsm.blogspot.com/2011/07/sony-er...tips-trick.html4. GLOBAL to change the generic firmware of your country.
we do not need to do the flashing, as it works to fool SEUS and PC companion though. so we can change the global firmware 2.3.3 which has in the root to the 2.3.3 firmware of your country in a state of permanent ROOT. because it does not need to do flashing.
easy way, we need to change the customization only number of Global code into your country code. term is called by BRANDING / DEBRANDING firmware.
1. we must know the global customization 2.3.3 and 2.3.3 number of your country. 2.3.3 Global = 1247-1061_R12C Indonesia = 2.3.3 1247-3057_R8C
2. explorer on the arc root install 2.3.3 which has in the root. 3. go to / system 4. mount R / W 5. build.prop edit with a text editor 6. search setting like the following: ro.product.name = LT15i_1247-1061 ro.build.fingerprint = SEMC/LT15i_1247-1061 / ro.semc.version.cust = 1247-1061 ro.semc.version.cust_revision = R12C
7. Change Being like this: ro.product.name = LT15i_1247-3057 ro.build.fingerprint = SEMC/LT15i_1247-3057 / ro.semc.version.cust = 1247-3057 ro.semc.version.cust_revition = R8C
8. reboot arc. 9. Enjoy your country Firmware 2.3.3
if you not believe, you can test yourself. by way of updates via SEUS. That's because the system has a flashing firmware SEUS is only appropriate regional. eg: 2.3.2 UK will be able to update via SEUS 2.3.3 UK 2.3.3 UK via SEUS will be able to reflash the UK 2.3.3 means that if the firmware on the plug into the SEUS Indonesia: 2.3.2 Indo Through SEUS will be able to update 2.3.3 Indo 2.3.3 Indo Through SEUS will be able to reflash the Indo 2.3.3 Added on August 10, 2011, 1:20 pmMalaysia Customize version: 1249-5138_R2C SOS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...26&postcount=29This post has been edited by exkaizen: Aug 10 2011, 01:21 PM

after update to 4.0.A.2.368 notice it comes with Wisepilot apps and not sure the maps better than such papago or sygic (but my house area available with complete road not like in papago & sygic which the road is end road)
Signal lock is quite fast as well.... It gives a month trial but the premium functions have to buy individually and quite expensive..
I haven't use it just go through a bit and haven't test it out on road...
Anybody have used wisepilot?

QUOTE(lotiman2003 @ Aug 13 2011, 02:12 PM) I only have 285MB free when I got my Arc. I really don't understand why SE put such a small internal memory in their flagship. maybe they do not want to make it much more expensive as they already throw in exmor R? well who knows...

QUOTE(Ultima @ Sep 5 2011, 10:25 PM) Seriously you don't know bout Android.. almost all Android phones got the problem as you mentioned above.. It's not out of the box phone, and you should study first bout Android before using it.. Ipong is your friend if you like buy-n-use straight phone.. +1... agree with such statement... seems lot of buyer did not do research on OS... just buy it because their friend said its good/better

QUOTE(lionheart23 @ Sep 5 2011, 11:08 PM) i admit i dont know anything with android, however so do the manufacturer expect every us go for detail study before buying it.......... if computer hardware okay la, i will look around the review, but phone........regret of because rushing n didn't done review properly first.... no wonder the reseller keep suggest me to buy samsung s1 or s2, now i know the reason...... T.T You do not need to do detail study... you only need to know hows android works before buying... Ppl will do a bit research before buying some tech... but most of ppl just went straight buy it then later regret... Samsung S1 and S2 is the same... normally ppl choose android because of customization so they can easily change or tweaks following their needs... if IOS it will be the same across all ios... not much colourful product... the same and dull product although not much bug in the OS... Android = Power user IOS = Normal user This post has been edited by exkaizen: Sep 6 2011, 09:53 AM

QUOTE(lotiman2003 @ Sep 6 2011, 07:57 PM) My Arc can last 4-5 days (2.3.3) without using wifi/gps with moderate sms and calls. If you using android 2.3.2 sure die. Within 12 hours battery only left 20% from fully charged once you open the stock camera apps. Well lionheart23, you using android 2.3.2 or 2.3.3? As for the camera quality you said bad image quality when you see in monitor or phone? Normally is looks good in phone itself but once copy to pc the quality will degrade. I think I know why you are saying that the quality is worst than K800 because I also got a K850 and for casual shot with slight shaking or low light shot, K850 is definitely producing cleaner picture without much noise but Arc is terrible on that department. It is harder to capture a good shot with Arc compare to K850. However, in outdoor or bright area, the Arc can capture a very good shot which can be compare with a normal point and shot camera. You need to play around with it and learn you Arc camera just like people learn to use their DSLR. I personally think Arc is a much interesting phone than iPhone and S2 because of its physical looks and 16:9 ratio screen. iPhone screen is small while S2 screen although bigger but not 16:9 so watching some movies are not full screen. One more thing is that, way too many ppl is using iPhone and S2. Among my friends, I think more than 10 ppl using Iphone and 4-5 ppl using S2 while many are planning to get it. To them, reason to own S2: It is dualcore, Iphone4: It is apple, can download many apps, can represent social status. So, why you guys bought Arc instead of IP4 or S2? Uniqueness, different from most of ppl, camera on of the best among Android

QUOTE(kyu85 @ Sep 16 2011, 12:41 AM) price not that much of concern... does arc have any like hardware problem/easily hang/BSOD/etc? Nopehow the custom firmware availability for arc? another phone i am considering is SGS since it have no problem from hardware or even custom firmware... Don't have custom ROM currently due to they using exmor R chip for camera which the lib a bit complicated to use in the custom ROM... BUT the custom ROM being build as CM7.1 port...1. prefer a bigger screen for easy browsing net... 2. well, nvr use video call so no much a problem... 3. yup,i like design but neo is ok ok compare to arc... 4. well, does not matter for now... 5. sure? out of topic, how is neo? good?
