When you use a monopod, you don't need a ballhead. You just screw the monopod directly to the lens foot. It's more secured. You usually carry the lens + body + monopod by holding the monopod.
that would depend on ur shooting position.
some ppl also dont like monopods straight up and prefer it at an angle for more stability, thats where a ballhead comes into play.

Get the original Nikon battery. If you're more to shooting videos, get a better memory card like Class 6 or greater =D

Get a Class 10 card, preferably SanDisk Extreme Pro series, and one would never go wrong
