Sandisk is recommended.

Go for the Ultra series at least, and if more budget for the Extreme or even the Extreme Pro series.

D5k user with kitty lens reporting in smile.gif

Today encountered one damn funny situation.
1 guy was camwhoring with his GF with a dslr. After finish taking pictures he took out the lens and tried to take pictures without it. He went on to rant 'why I buy this lousy camera' in public.
I was sitting behind him and I almost LMAO'ed till I fell off the chair.
Edited for easier understanding. Very simple already icon_question.gif

If can get that price, I will buy one there. Where is the most nearest Foto Selangor in KL?

I went to Foto Selangor at Pertama Compleks just now, served by a graceful Chinese lady, bought 50mm 1.8g for Rm650 and extra batt for RM190, Memory card for RM100.

Paid by card band no additional charges.

Im not sure cheap or exp the extra batt or memory card, but I believe 50mm 1.8g for Rm650 is the lowest I see so far.

Thanks gnome for the info.

Dear all sifus,

So, I bought the 50mm 1.8g and try to shoot with it.

1) I’m sure my subject was in focus, why some pic being sharp and some being blur? Is it because I shake and cost blur? It seems no such blur when I use the kitlens, is it because the way I hold the camera? The new lens no VR?

2) What is the dial in the middle of the lens, that’s an infinity sign, then some numbers, and when I focus, the numbers will move, what is it?

Appreciate your input.

Quick Question, the coming Arsenal or Liverpool / Chelsea football match, can we bring our dslr in?

Not trying to take picture on the field, just thought it would be heaven to take picture of the fans.

well that just put my tests to shame o.o you borrowed a friends? very nice photos... the vignetting is awesome smile.gif

nah, i bought one, few days ago, and this is the 1st session i go our and shoot with it.

U put me to shame too, the vignetting is through effect with Lightroom software, hardly my skill.

Very fun lens especially for DX camera without motor that im using. Go for it.

The top most photo OOF or the kid moved?

The 2nd image isn't that sharp as well except the 3rd one.

How do you find the lens in term of sharpness?
*
1) The kid moves. She found me taking picture and stare at me, and when she's at between the flowers, i snapped right way.

2) 2nd image, the mother is moving away from me, maybe its my technique not so accomplish yet.

I'm pretty new to photography, i believe my hand kind of move, or maybe my technique not so accomplish, i find it hard sometimes to get sharp picture on the move, maybe because im used to the kit lens VR and now without VR its kind of hard to get crystal sharp image in those uncontrol environment.

Or maybe because 1st time going street to take picture, it could be either:

1) i focus in haste and hence i point at the wrong place.
2) im in Aperture mode, and put it f/1.8 the whole session. Then only i learned, in street, to tell the story, i cant always blur.

In a control environment, crystal clear, nothing to complaint.

I actually enjoy this lens better than the kit lens. hehe

Sifu please correct me and teach me.

Wah, sharp,

but then, is it because its non moving object, models, flowers etc, hence easier to shoot it sharp?

How about those moving subject, and under low light?
