Hmm... on a side note, I actually collected the KelbyTraining - Working with Nikon SB-900 series and Nikon's A Hands On Guide to Creative Lighting videos long ago before I get my DSLR. I'm yet to watch them both, but I guess I'll at least go through the Kelby's to get the idea for my practising and the Nikon's guide only when I mastered the basic.

I did not calibrate my LCD using any device but I followed the settings exactly as per recommended by a website after calibration.

I just checked the Demb Flash Diffuser Pro and it's priced at RM170, do I really need it or DIY larger bounce card will do the same effect if not similar? Not necessary required, isn't?

I'm spending on the flashgun and BG instead of lens hoping that I can deliver this coming weekend shooting. Relying only on Kelby's video tutorial to do crash course for doing photography with flash. I'm just crazy now to think about Demb Diffuser Pro

guys, sad to say that i will be jumping ship over to the white side. reason being that both my shooting partners are using 'nonac' systems and i am the only one using nikon. as much as i love nikon and being a nikon fanboy, i have decided to change to over to 'nonac' for convenience sake and not bcos i dont love nikon anymore ! do forgive me guys ! it's been great learning from this thread and will continue to follow this thread ! have a great weekend to all !

lol im tempted to jump ship aswell since my friends dad said he can give me "good price" of canon stuff (he's Canon Msia ambassador ). One veteran nikon kaki here in lolyat do take his offer and jump ship last year iirc

I got one of these, so far only triggering haven't been using the hot shoe pass tru, pretty reliable.

Sorry bro, can't remember where I read it before; By default, when we load NEF files, LR will applied some adjustments; What can be seen is the contrast +25 and brightness +50; Not sure if there's any other adjustment. Since I'm going to adjust it or apply my own presets, so I didn't bother it. I think Jared Polin mentioned it before about auto-loading your own preset when importing NEF files.

sometimes I felt that D7k dedicated ISO button is a misplace.

Attached the MB-D11 bg to the D7000 body. Hmm... it seems to be solid built, however the rubber is way different feeling than the D7000's. It's like some cheapo rubber on the bg vs some quality rubber on the body

And yes... it does feel like not attached tightly as it still can move very slightly giving you that kind of "feeling" where the body is moving on the bg.

18-70mm or 18-105mm VR

having read kenrockwell reviews about these 2 lens above

having a dilemma to choose a simple walkaround lens

was wondering which of u will pick any of these lens above?

18-70 has closer min focus distance (0.38m compare to 18-105, 0.45m)) which attract me more, it has a scale meter which i find it useful when shooting video or landscapes (Hyperfocal technique)

but 18-105 has VR which is an advantage and has more focal length, Kenrockwell review this lens is soft at 18mm and has terrible distortions...

im still thinking either to get lowepro slingshot 302aw oe lowepro slingshot 350aw. Is the 302aw a replacement for 300aw? Thanks

yea im planning to put in the 70-200mm. So u suggest me to get like a back pack? Like flipside 400aw? The reason i wanna get slingshot is that it could provide me easier access to all my lenses that i want to use.
