I heard that the throttling rule relaxes when there is less users in a particular area.

QUOTE(chuahcs79 @ Aug 17 2011, 01:19 AM)
this is not the proof of the usages 11GB before get capped.. this is speedtest showing you get capped which doesn't support your 11GB usages story at all

Well, i am not so sure how you mean by checking through the sms. Usually i checked through the *118# which cannot work well in the modem.

Example like below, if we want to topup, can also use sms....

Step 1

Key in the 14 digit top-up number
For example: 11223344556789

Step 2

SMS to 22128
Step 3

Wait for confirmation of top-up SMS
*
I see. I always prefer to use the *118# 1. Each time i top up RM50. If anything went wrong means can cry ald.

Hi! i switched to Umobile and I started to have problem of No SIM card detected  and  most of the No Service.
I went to umobile center and get a new SIM card but is still the same..

I don't think is my phone problem because I was using Maxis and Celcom and there is no problem at all.
*
1st question:

where are you?

2nd, your phone is what model and how long you have used it? Your Maxis and celcom sim card how old ald?

2nd answer :  Iphone 3GS  ,  used it 1 year ,

maxim 6 months ago, celcom sim 1 month ago.  umobile
*
1. I think you can ask the iipohbee about this.

2. should not have a problem about sim card.

all sim cards considered the new ones.

That place should be in coverage well.

The next issue is that do you use it near the windows or door or not?

Wow, does it matter? sweat.gif
I check my coverage location from here
http://www.u.com.my/broadband/coverage-locations

There are two maps:
1. Broadband - up to 42Mbps
2. Mobile Internet - up to 3.6Mbps

What are the differences between these two?

My area does not get covered by the first but gets "Mobile Internet Excellent Coverage" in the latter.

I can't believe this of all places in the world, Bangsar does not get covered by uMobile broadband???
*
Hell yes it freaking matter.

If you are in the lift you sure see your mobile signal went down and yes, i know you did not live inside the lift.

Your room area is quite important as well. Some people stay in a windowless room and rely on air con to live i also live in there before, but i did not use the broadband that time.

You can stay 10m from the UM 3G tower, but if are underground also can barely receive the signal. It really depend on your location, but if you put it near a door or windows usually should not have the reception problem.

The difference is your speed, but want 42Mbps? Pay more money for the modem.

but is the 42mpbs modem worth taking?

in another say is that, will it perform up to that par or not?

Hmm, for me, my current speed is decent enough. Anything requires heavy usage, i ask for Unifi's help.

Note: I am the guy who is ok with the 64kbps speed internet.

one question, the 42 mbps speed is because of the modem or what?
*
Yup. Now most of the normal modem only support till 7.2mb or less.

Definitely not caused by where I online from..I use Maxis internet tethering on my iPhone and it is 10x faster than what uMobile can give me. Furthermore, even after I bring my lappie outside, I don't receive any faster connection.

Thinking of other alternatives now.
*
IMO stick with maxis bro.

that's mean u mobile apply diff cap speed;

1) u broadband plan > MB-Day / MB40 / MB68 / MB128 = 128kbps
2) unlimited mobile internet = 64kbps

it's I'm right?
*
something like that.

I cant connect to the net at all tonight. Using MB40 prepaid. The LED on the modem stays red and not green. Location: Bangi.

Looks like they are cutting cost on their CS to give us faster speed at a cheper price that is why the is no one answering our calls...

It is business though, but i think they just give more workload to staff to prevent hiring new ones. Firing staff is not easy, man.
