Can't download things at all...

I noticed that recently if I have heavy connection going on like downloading something, it will just disconnect after about 5 mins.

Even without heavy connection, sometimes it will just disconnect for no reason. But downloading at high speed will be a 'fail proof' way of causing disconnection.

Using postpaid for first 5 months should be cheaper. Let's do the calculations for first 5 months:

Postpaid :
RM100 + (RM48x5) = RM340

Prepaid:
RM135 - RM5[preloaded credit] + (RM68x4 - 15%) = RM371.52

However, I'm not sure if postpaid BB can change to prepaid BB. If cannot, then of course it's better to get prepaid cause over time, prepaid BB will be cheaper cause of topup bonus.

1)postpaid, 6% gov tax applies
2)on prepaid, if you discontinue on the second mth, your investment on broadband is limited to only rm130 , on postpaid you would hav paid rm100+rm48=rm148

sifus, wanna ask a question here.

If I am using the RM28 plan, with a Galaxy S phone.

If am not in the coverage of Umobile , means i roam on Celcom , will the speed enough for normal browsing?

Anybody knows what's the new free exciting thing that U Mobile teased us today through SMS? Hopefully it's not something lame.

Plus.. till today I still haven't get my free SMS from topping up in 7-11. I guess I should stop hoping already lol

don't listen that wink.gif, pretty sad, convey the wrong message, reload RM28 and *118# to get it, sms and call is roll-over, you won't lose your current free sms and call

FAQs
What happens to my unused voice minutes and sms when the subscription automatically renews?

Your unused balance will be rolled over to your new bundle along with a new validity date, however the entire bundle can only withhold 200 mins and 60 sms at any point in time. Any excess of which will be forfeited.

however that is for automatically renew, aka when the 30days come over. yes the sms and free call will not be lose.

for my case, 500mb quota is finishing soon, and i have 2 more weeks to go to wait for automatic renew, so i ask them, can i buy a topup and renew NOW itself. they say cannot. and like i explain earlier. they said i need to wait for my current 30days to over and for automatic renewal comes.

No idea, most likely yes, as they will bundle with the modem and rebate to you?

Added on July 7, 2011, 7:49 pm@spikyz, just buy reload and buy la, no need wait auto renew, by the way after 500MB, no extra charge, just speed is reduced,

U Mobile has just updated their 42Mbps broadband plan. Now you can choose to have 1 year contract, every month pay RM20 extra. If you use for 1 year, the price of the modem would be RM240, which is just RM10 cheaper than without contract plan.

So, the only good thing about this plan is that it's sort of an easy payment plan. Spread out the burden.

Btw, they had this note also:
* Only applicable at U Mobile Service Centre in Johor Bahru, Penang and Seremban.

Means it's true. 42Mbps service not available in the Klang Valley. Very sad. I just don't understand why they don't want to launch it here, user base is much bigger I would assume.

Added on July 7, 2011, 11:54 pmPLUS, those users who want to try out U Mobile 7 days money back guarantee. PLEASE BE AWARE. This is their T&C:
• Data usage must not exceed more than 500MB

The very least they could do for us KV folks if they don't want to introduce 42Mbps download is to UPGRADE THE FREAKING SLOW upload speed. 56kbps is plain torture!

this is my speed at USJ 21 ( using HTC desire HD as wifi hotspot) . As i know Puchong area can get very good upload speed.
When i reach my home ( Desa Petaling ), the upload speed drop like yours. And the DL never exceed 2MB.
Maybe they are trying to control the speed near city area.
