can connect but no data exchange

i'm using it also, sometime my phone also like that, this is normal.

R=roaming
when U mobile no coverage, it will show R, under celcom coverage.
Can call out like normal.

E=edge
when no U mobile coverage, it will use data from celcom under EDGE speed.

bro sorry if u already explain this before. but what do u mean by your statement? becoz im going to malacca next 2 weeks and gonna be there for 5days, i apply for RM28 packages, so not umobile line there, it will roam into celcom 2g line? what is the maximum speed of celcom 2g line?

If i am not mistaken, the speed for the EDGE should be less than 10kb/s.

Only postpaid can do oversea roaming. Prepaid langsung cannot.

That's the disadvantage of U Mobile. Other prepaid services like Digi and Hotlink can roam with prepaid without any registration, very simple.

Can't download things at all...

I noticed that recently if I have heavy connection going on like downloading something, it will just disconnect after about 5 mins.

Even without heavy connection, sometimes it will just disconnect for no reason. But downloading at high speed will be a 'fail proof' way of causing disconnection.

Using postpaid for first 5 months should be cheaper. Let's do the calculations for first 5 months:

Postpaid :
RM100 + (RM48x5) = RM340

Prepaid:
RM135 - RM5[preloaded credit] + (RM68x4 - 15%) = RM371.52

However, I'm not sure if postpaid BB can change to prepaid BB. If cannot, then of course it's better to get prepaid cause over time, prepaid BB will be cheaper cause of topup bonus.
