last nite manage to setup the tank but still no landscaping... add on boyu fan and manage to drop the temp from 32°C (normal temp before) to 28°C (this morning temp) and i think it is sufficient for the marimo... hopefully there will be not much different between day and night temp.

i'm just thinking izzit ok if we put in a small nylon string through the marimo and put in the tank vertically so that the it will only sink and float at a specific place... just wondering... hope other members with experience in marimo can answer this. tq...

If there is any experts in here, do advise me in improving my tank deco.

I have a plant in left, and a fake plant on the right. The middle is just the picture of its background only.

I have guppies, danio and tectras in my tank, a filter, a marimo, n coral sands.

I heard ppl saying n commenting about white lamp, water cooler, water ph and so on.

Do i need to have it in my tank to ensure my fish are safe, happy like 1Malaysia budget 2012, and nice?

There is so much things to know about the tank setup but to conclude your setup, as long as they seems ok, no need to do anything, just frequent 20-30% water change, that's all...

Take care of the water and the water will take care your fishes and plants

i got problem with my aquarium~! cause i have take all precautions and asked advise from the pets wonderland in midvalley. i do all as they said n purchased liquids (bacteria grwing) and chlorine, n feed my pity fish 2x a day with small pellets (guppy n tectra), but still i could see the water turn yellowish~! i jz change 50% of the water 2 days ago~!

how to maintain the quality of the water to be crystal clear?

any to advise?

i put into fridge ady, its still greenish but got yellow also..

when i was it then it can be open up in a hole, then inside found a very very tiny marimo, it is very tiny only..i wonder is that the baby??

My puddles have been in spa bath(fridge) for quite some time now :/ My table super messy coz doing alot of coloring n drawing these days.. no space for it.. 

@yeelin : i don't think baby marimos are in the center of the big marimo :/ yours probably just broke? I don't know. They usually grow on the top area of the marimo..

mine is 45cm tank...ya, it is aqua zonic..i change the light, from a fully white to a white/blue bulb~! i asked leeyung be4, he say can..till now, my marimo still seems fine~!kakakaka

I came across Marimo balls from groupon and bought 4 nano from them, i just got them and extremely dissapointed
They weren't packed nicely and were flatten and crushed during shipping, and worse of all, they're yellowish in colour..

icic, but origin from japan and imported from japan is different matter. btw, im a marimo lover too. my fren brought me 3 nano marimo from japan, but is man-made. I will set up a cherry shrimp mini aquarium soon, will get more marimo from lee yung next time. =)

Just got my marimo parcel from Japan! Full set so nice! The marimo really look different with the other bottle, it look more green and lot of bubble.

Plus the postage around 100, cus using EMS only 3 days arrived....worry it will die in half way delivery.

I read about some articles that marimo ball is actually origin from Germany not Japan.
moss ball from Japan looks different than marimo ball that we all having now.
Please correct me if i am wrong.

Does this means japan also get the marimos from germany? If i'm not mistaken leeyung sometimes go to japan himself to collect the marimos...
