One of the giant in a cup has white flakes at the bottom, it's not turning brownish or white but i notice only that guy is flaking white flakes, what are the flakes?

if you mean your marimo is making small bubbles everyday that means he/she is ok.
we call it pearling due to the proses of photosynthesis. this can be achive with good water and good light. gratz rclxms.gif

is it needed for them to pearl everyday? because my light is probably not strong enough for them to pearl.

nah lol..
just give them adequate light and good water parameters is enough i guess.

IMHO, to make the marimo pearling intensively meaning you need good lighting like those in planted tanks (6500K ++ with high watt) and a good dose of CO2, which can be costly. I did that because i thought it would make them grow faster, but it didnt doh.gif
For me as long they are healthy green, retain its aesthetic looks and not dead, im quite happy with the way it is.

Safe to put marimo with pleco. My pleco has no interest in it at all.

Got a dymax cooling fan for my Marimos. Reduce the tank's temperature from abt 30°C to 27°C.

Yeah, one of my marimos tank also put together with algae eater, pleco or algae pretty safe with marimo smile.gif Like video below

Yes, 40++. That's the cheapest I could find ler unless DIY.
