I was using continentals mc5s up until recently I needed to change so i went to a shop. They recommended me use back mc5 or michelin xm2s, they said grip about the same but michelins are quieter. Me being so gullible I thought I try the michelins for something different. Then later only I realized the michelins are energy saving eco tyres like the cc5 yet they are priced higher. I don't really care about comfort or quiet so did I buy the wrong tyres?

If you looking for eco tyre with comfort, then you buy the right tyre.

Give some review comparison using XM2 vs previous MC5

For that size there are quite many choices for high performance tires. You can get Goodyear F1-D5 or Bridgestone Adrenaline R003 as well which would be cheaper than the PS3. These are all better choices than the XM2 or MC5.

aw I really regret never do homework haha. Time to sell 2nd hand or accelerate the wear tongue.gif

isn't MC5 pricier for this size? how much the price actually? unsure.gif

I was quoted 400 for 1 mc5 vs 410 for the xm2

I'd have to use the xm2s a bit longer first. Though the mc5 was very old when I replaced it i dont think i can give very good comparison might be very biased tongue.gif

Seems expensive, already similar pricing to 17' tires. I thought for 16' should be about 300+ but I could be wrong.

Just wondering if you guys got problem with loud sounds when crossing over the yellow lines (normally it's there before a road bump).

I'm wondering if it's because of the :
1)Tyres
2)Absorbers

Or it's just tad loud because of the thick yellow line they lay down compared to those we saw on highways.

ouch... Bridgestone RE003 is cheaper than MC5 at 320/pc. As you might know, I drive Preve, and its stock size is the same that you bought.

I am loving every single bit of RE003. Not sure whether it is more comfort than MC5 or XM2 (never tried any of these 2 tyres), but it is definitely more comfortable than stock Champiro BAX 2, and the grip is more. you felt super confident taking corners in high speed.

I've used second-hand PS3 before on my Preve, RE003 is just a bit stiffer than PS3. but overall I can say I feel like driving over a sponge compare to stock tyre.

Noise level: same as Champiro BAX 2. If you want silence, than RE003 is not the choice wink.gif

at the moment I just felt like nothing can sway me from RE003. PS3 is bit on pricier side.

How about in the wet, is the RE003 also good or even better than PS3?

I got it from ban hooi klang. For the price it is the best there is. One ps3 can buy 2 n8000.... almost... Except for slightly softer sidewall, all other features are one of the best, excellent dry grip, even better wet grip, almost no noise even at 50% thread, , superb wear, mine on 52k now, in fact going to change my 3rd set soon

Back with some comments on my new Yokohama C-Drive 2.

Yesterday night went to Cyberjaya and speed around 120-140kmph while cornering.
The cornering felt floaty, so I stopped after 2 corners. This might be caused by my front tyres which is still the old Kruizer

Don't get me wrong but I definitely felt the grip on my rear tyre when I corner. No regret getting this C-Drive 2

Changed all tyres to toyo neo energy 3. 2 tyres was changed half a year ago. 2 of them 2 weeks ago. Very quiet, compared to my stock NCT5. Not sure its new or what.a comfort wise its tip top. Not so sure about cornering grip, I don't drive like a f1 driver though.
