Other alternative than the Sager NP5160, the old XPS 15, L501x, but not the latest spec..

Yeah true, so I could only get the one without full HD from garage sales seller here which would be about 3.1k. Dun need get the FullHD lo no choice LOL ~ no money le cant afford.

Added on July 4, 2011, 11:00 am

Yeah i know right, haha. We are on the same ship dude. U decided what to get yet? I mean which one has the higher probability in ur list?
I think now that's left is HP DV6 and N53SV i7. If i can get a good deal on the DV6 then I could get it, or else I think it will end with N53SV.
I enquired from Prince J on the Sager 5165 we'll see what he replies, but Sagers 17" are better I guess with Full HD. The warranty would be another issue though.
*
Yes you're right.
1600 X 900 is suitable for 15.6 inch. The only con is cannot watch FHD movie .
When goes for 1900 X 1080p, 17.3 inch is the best.

Sager NP5175 is one of the lightest 17.3 inch laptop, only about 3kg to 3.2kg. And the depth is the same as NP5165.

Sager warranty for machines sold under our trademark is served by us directly. We won't push you to contact Sager directly for warranty claiming.

Yes. NP5160-HM65 chipset with 2 USB 3.0.
The cooling design of this model is on the average. As long as you don't OC your laptop, it should be no problem at all.

hi guys.. i want to ask, if i am playing game to long, can it overheat my laptop? It is because when i'm done playing game for few hours (3-4hours), then it'll take longer time to shut down compare to normal use. I'm playing PES 2011 actually with low setting.

Dont want lenovo brand. Budget 2k. TQ.

I have a question, when was acer timelinex launched?

And before timelinex, acer got other models with long life battery as well?

TQ.

The TimelineX 4830Tg costs ~RM2499....
Perhaps you can take alook at these:
Asus A43Sj, i3-2310M + Nvidia GT520M@RM2099[2.44kg], Colors:Red/Blue/Pink/Green/Gold/Black
Dell Inspiron 14, i5-2410M + AMD HD6470@RM2099
Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2349
Toshiba Satellite L745-1050X, i3-2310 + Nvidia GT525M@RM1999, 2nd & 3rd year warranty

The battery won't be as good as that of the 4830Tg though...

Erm, the asus laptop....how long they have been producing long lasting battery laptops already?

I kinda trust acer since they have timeline since 2009 and timelinex since 2010.

Asus U series has been around for as long as the TimelineX series, but then they're usually priced at RM2.8-3k...
The Asus A series recommended just now is just a normal laptop with normal battery life, only that the battery capacity is slightly higher iinm nod.gif

Battery life varies from model to model. Generally, the advertised battery life for U series is 8-10 hours

Again, A series offers a wide range of models, in which the A43Sj, iinm, was able to achieve 4.5-5 hours because of the larger capacity battery... Not very sure about this though, better double check ^^
14"
Acer TimelineX 4830TG, i5-2410M + GT540M@RM2499[2.2kg]

Rumor has it that the 13" Acer 3830Tg (i3-2310M + Nvidia GT540M) would be priced at RM1999, but then until now we haven't see it on Malaysian shores yet sweat.gif

^ Not applicable to all A series models of course...
Its larger compared to Asus A42Jz etc. battery capacity is the same as A43Sv, N43Sl etc. Do check the Asus product catalog for more details nod.gif
