Windows 7 will significantly decrease the battery life, and will be laggier... explaining why the Acer iconia is less popular... sad.gif

Bro tj, should I just grab the Asus a43s or Toshiba l745-1050? I think if I really wan take i5 I will get a43sv. I guess I wont be using the laptop unless I am on the move, so not really need powerful but at least can run complicated solidworks or cadcam design. Because my friend Intel graphics totally cannot run lolz

Asus A43Sv is more expensive, but it offers better performance; with 2 years international warranty summore~
I would recommend you getting that one if you have the money to spare.
If not, the L745-1050 will be fine as well, with 3 years local warranty rclxms.gif

Hi, I'm looking for a notebook that weighs around 1.8kg that comes with a discrete graphics card. It's for work and light gaming (cheap stuff that you can get off steam) since i travel a lot.

Recently bought one of those new Vaio S series (core i5, radeon mobility) for my wife, which fits that criteria. Unfortunately, i'm not impressed with the viewing angles on the tft led screen - a lot of colour variations depending on the viewing angle. Is there anything out there with a led screen that has the same viewing quality as those macbook pros?

I guess I'm just looking for more options in the 1.8kg category to explore.

*also apologies if i offend but the search option wasn't helpful.

Might want to consider these brows.gif :
Asus A43Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(1GB)@RM2349[2.44kg], [6-cell 4400mAH]
Asus N43SL, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2699[2.4kg][Bang & Olufsen]
Acer TimelineX 4830TG, i5-2410M + GT540M@RM2499[2.2kg]
Inspiron 14R, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2349
Vostro 3450, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2577, backlit keyboard

My vote goes to N43Sl though hehe~

Well, the sony vaio that i previously bought was 13.3" which is good enough for work so i don't have to strain my eyes at spreadsheets. My Geforce 7600mobility on my Vaio VGN-SZ (bought in 2006) that i use for work died this morning (and tbh i prefer the screen on my old vaio more than my wife's new vaio)

so criteria around 1.8kg, i5 minimum, discrete graphics solution, screen size around 13.3", good quality lcd/led panel. Good for work and play.

edit: Budget is flexible, but i want to avoid paying more than 5k. Office should pay irrespective of the price but i don't want to be seen to taking the piss tongue.gif

Of course, you can consider Macbook Pro 13 as well (and MBA 13, Samsung 9 series too if you want) laugh.gif
