i sold off my 9/10 condition spira 21 for errr... rm170-180. hahahahha
btw, spira 21 is stronger in smashes compared to bs10.
but bs10 is of coz faster and easier to control.
overall, if u play doubles, i think bs10 is good (not so good in baseline smashes though)
singles, spira 21 is better i think. but slower in defence
*
y sell so cheap to someone other than me? sad.gif

looking for another stiff/very stiff racket. something value for money tongue.gif . any suggestions other than sw35, bs10? saw a shop online that is selling wish rackets for damn cheap. got kevlar model, ti model, woven model, cnt model. 3 rackets for rm199. itchy to buy just for fun laugh.gif

Try heading down to Kota Damansara Sports House. Got my stuff and the prices over there are pretty sweet happy.gif

About the racket choice:

You need to choose between

1) Head heavy racket- As the name suggests, the overall weight is more towards the head of the racket, therefore you get a lot more power from smashes. Good for offensive play
2) Head light racket- Weight is more towards the grip iinm, head is light and therefore would suit faster racket movement. Good for beginners though as you might be able to swing your racket a lot faster than head heavy ones.
3) Well balanced racket- well balanced loh, somewhere in between head heavy and head light

And for the string, I'd recommend BG66 and probably you can string it around 22 pounds.

dont forget shaft stiffness. makes alot of difference also.

rm300-400 get apacs slayer 99. very even balanced, aero frame, got 3 point frame reinforcement, and 3k woven carbon on both frame and shaft, so even if you suck, your racket looks good. hahaha

damn. been using the vt5 the past few days. removed original grip, put 1 layer yonex ac102ex, BP already at 320mm. now already used to using the vt5 for doubles, use the forza ti550 also no problem defending, but when change to the slayer 99 timing went out the window. slayer 99 even balanced, every time also mishit sweat.gif

now dunno want to get what racquet edi. stiff for sure, but dunno if want head heavy or even balanced. head light i dont think i can play already rclxub.gif

yeah, considering both of those. but play mostly doubles, and each session also mix and match partners. got racket clashes with 1 or 2 of them (worst is a lefthander, always clash when retrieving shot in the middle), and i managed to damage my forza ti 550 quite badly. the clash took the paint out, and the titanium wire woven in the carbon actually broke, so can see 1 ti wire protruding out of the frame. sad.gif but so far no noticeable difference in playing (yet). scared to get sw35 or bs10 as those are expensive, and dont want to damage them laugh.gif

and i'm afraid to buy the tantrum 200 cos i'm already using the slayer 99 which is more high end, scared the tantrum 200 doesnt perform as well and i get disappointed. lol

i was offered a used gosen ryoga shiden for under rm400, even balanced, stiff. itchy to buy actually. (although i had previously promised myself that my most expensive racket would be the forza mellow.gif).

at that price, a used shiden would be close to new sw35 price, but the shiden looks damn nice graphics wise laugh.gif

dilemma already. tongue.gif

ok, we organize badminton session, can also test out other people's rackets.

sold off two of my rackets edi, got budget to get a racket and a triple compartment bag.

got friend considering selling his gosen ryoga shiden for under rm400. hmm.gif

considering sw35, bs10, ti10, k tour, li ning bp300c. any other suggestions for stiff and even balanced or slightly head heavy? and not too expensive, i play mostly doubles, always change partners, scared of clashes. tongue.gif

bought new racket bag. SR10029 BT9. hehe. now I shove all my rackets including old ones like carbonex 8 inside. any1 wanna borrow during my sessions can use those. haha. go to rackets only 2 though, forza ti550 and slayer 99. looking for something to add but dunno yet. leaning towards an sw35 or bs10, but considering anything head heavy also, as long as its stiff. hmm.gif

where can get panda power rackets in malaysia? not willing to spend so much on a racket since I play doubles and mix and match partners, got clash a few times. the max I would spend is RM400 for a racket, new or used. was testing out an apacs w200 training racket also, 200 grams. damn hard to swing around, confirm defense become crap. but felt extra stiff, bloody heavy, if smash confirm damn powerful. hahaha.

stiff, not extra stiff. sw35 is extra stiff. on the 6 point scale sw35 is 1st dot, sw36 is 2nd dot. will test it out to be sure. laugh.gif

just tested first session with sw36. 3U, strung with victor vs850 at 27lbs, first time using that string also. played doubles only, 7 sets. lost 2 sets.
comparing this to apacs slayer 99 2U bg66 ultimax 26lbs and fz forza ti550 bg66 27lbs

first impressions. very even balanced, easy to defend, fast swing speed. was used to the fast swing speed, mishit a few smashes cos i swung too early.

power: clears and smashes are very easy. very easy to use as back court doubles player for smashes, clears and drops. cant compare directly cos all 3 rackets have different strings and tensions.
fz forza=sw36>slayer99

net play: 27lbs string, stiff, easy to control net shots.
forza ti550=sw36>slayer99

front court play (interception and keeping racket head up): wasnt feeling that great today due to rain, so I didnt play well as a front court player, missed alot of potential interception (rusty and sleepy laugh.gif)
slayer99>sw36>forza ti550

defense: easy to defend with, but swing speed faster than what i'm used to, so sometimes swing too early.
sw36=slayer99>forza ti550

feel: solid, not alot of vibration, can play long periods without much fatigue. but it could be down to the string, cos all three rackets have different strings and tensions.
forza ti550=sw36>slayer99

overall i think it strikes a good balance between my ti550 and my slayer99. ti550 is when i feel aggressive and dont care about defense much, but cannot play at all if my head isnt right. slayer99 good for defense, but not the best back court racket, aero frame and even balance good for front court even though its 2U, but doesnt feel heavy. sw36 was good today even though I had a mild headache due to rain and lack of sleep.

will post updated reviews after I've had more playing time with it. today I exclusively used the sw36, so my comparison might not be the most accurate cos i didnt used all 3 rackets back to back.

hope this has been a useful review. now interested it trying the sw35 since people say it is stiffer and has more power. hmmmmmm

2nd session using the sw36. not as much power as the forza ti550. dunno if its just the racket or the string, since both use different strings. hmm.gif hmm.gif

ti 550 string still going strong even though its bg66 at 27lbs and over 2 months. maybe the 96 holes system keeps the string alive stronger? laugh.gif

Ultimax was a super string when its fresh but not after few sessions, it became super dull, dead and less repulsion, at least it happened to me. Did it happen to you ?

string 2-3 lbs higher than your normal tension, after a week only become nice laugh.gif

0.65mm string, how high u wanna string?
*
how high you dare laugh.gif

i've been stringing at 26lbs, but bought 2 used rackets, both also at 27lbs, seems ok. next string might be 27lbs also, see if my arms can handle 27lbs on fresh strings. current strings are bg66, bg66 ultimax and vs850. used nbg98 on 2 rackets before, but managed to break one of the strings on 1 of them after less than 10 hours.

dunno what string to use now. got people on badminton central recommend using bg65ti and stringing 2-3 lbs higher than normal, feels the same and has better durability. hmm.gif
