I support this...Inspira is NOT a Lancer. Don't simply modify here and there...later turn turtle and then blame Proton...tongue.gif

Inspira is a good family sedan with power to sprint once in a while.... but I find myself sprinting very often... tongue.gif

Got something to ask...the auto air cond.

Three knobs there right? I set the left, and middle knob to "Auto". Right knob set the desired degree. Works fine, but after i shut off car and restart next day, i notice the right knob (temp control), always no lights (take fresh air instead of recycle), so i have to press it once every time. Is this normal?

I only use recycle air...outside air where got fresh mang...this is PJ, not country side!
*
Mine happens occasionally. How many degree did you set? Perhaps inside air warmer than outside air, so it will extract outside air to cool down cabin faster. Once both temp is almost the same, it will turn back to recycle mode. However I noticed it does on turn to recycle mode automatically so far.

I set 25C usually. You meant it "doesn't turn on" or "does turn on" to recycle mode automatically?? Maybe need to test later.
*
Typo.. it does not turn back to recycle mode...

When driving alone? tongue.gif Our cars are great machines, but I don't want it to be a killing machine as well... So lets drive sensibly and not be so obsessed with how fast this car can go, and too kiasu if other cars can go faster. We don't want to challenge the others to heaven...

manual willy can hit that ?

i hear from the sales man said lah i dont know proton said 6.3l/100KM

i see some cvt want very good fc for 1.8model...

this 6.4l/100KM is 100% highway or normal 50/50 ?
*
Achievable but super duper hard driving slow on normal roads esp with this garang car. The temptation to speed is so hard to resist and also pressure from other cars who jeer at you driving so slow.

For those results, they probably tested on a closed track.

From what the dude explained to me.

Its the design of the antenna.

Even if you change HU will still have the same problem

Anyone changed their hu unit already.. maybe can ask them for comparison

i personally hook my iphone to the system everyday, so i dont bother abt the radio. tongue.gif

bluetooth ftw
*
I have checked with Clarion Msia. They say its the noise reduction system in this HU. When it detects weaker or noisy signals, it will soften down the volume so listeners will not get the static or noise amplified. And no, changing antenna to longer will not help, they have troubleshoot a few Inspiras on this. Some of us has changed to metal based antennas, we get better treble but more static noise and still experience softening of volume.

Clarion has a fix that is to disable the noise reduction feature but this has resulted in noisier or static prone sounds from the radio. Some who had this fix has complained and changed back to the ori unit and live with the "feature". Changing other HU brand/model will help cause most HU don't have this "feature" but if you listen properly, Clarion has better radio sound quality coupled with VAPs, its a good stock sound system.

So the choice is yours, Clarion Msia have some replacement units now (same model but with noise reduction feature disable). Do get in contact with them if you want to change it to try. For me I choose to stick to the ori version.

Thanks man, +1000 for your info! thumbup.gif

Got any numbers we can contact?? Or better yet, a contact who knows about this issue (or we will have to explain a lot of stories to a person who is not aware of this issue).
*
Google Clarion Malaysia, then flood their customer service email with complains. Hopefully they will take proper action and have permanent fix. They are aware, just briefly say your set has the loud and soft problem. I think we need more complains to make this a big issue for them to move their ass...

fyi, after later part of this yr inspira will not have the wiring for tweeter,HU frm lancer connection as a big possibility will take it out
*
The batches from March/April 11 onwards already has no tweeter 'holes' and wiring. We could not locate the wiring after taking off the cover. So for those wanting to fix tweeter will have to pull a fresh wire from the HU or change to component.

Yeah...mine no tweeter...don't think got wiring also lor.
*
Matrix, don't have tweeter but the cover had holes/pores ready for tweeter to be installed. Wiring was also there. Now both also takda...

DM3, take note of all the internal panels, slowly all will be localised, power window... Then move on to engine bay like radiator, compressor, alternator, etc... They cannot touch the engine but they can change the supporting components.

so fast ka?
well more to come then on the wiring not need, i dun have info wat others will be yet .
*
Mine is 2.0 chassis 20xx. All wiring already localised since first batch, see the label of the wire hardness in the engine bay. The acc shop who does lancer also found out some wires omitted even in the cabin bay overhead lights; so where else omitted I dunno. Mine still had the tweeter pores and wire, so installed tweeter di smile.gif

DM3, you got proton internal info ka?

Matrix, for 2.0, front windscreen still MMC, all others should be proton by now. Mine is MMC front n back, side all proton. Light and rain sensor should be still MMC as the windscreen from MMC was specially designed for this. This is why still no proton version for 2.0 front windscreen. For 1.8, the front is already proton. Was told a lancer who had the windscreen replaced due to crack, was installed with proton version (cause they dun have rain sensor)... kakaka...

bro, lets just say im related to wiring for inspira tongue.gif
yea its localize but we do supply all the while to toyota, honda, nissan,so we follow jap standard for lancers tongue.gif

Cool. Do you know what is the diff between Ins and Lancer wiring then? Is the tweeter wire still there or omitted completely as we cannot find it. Maybe the balut it with black tape.

Do you have the wiring diagram for the A pillars? Is there something inside where the radio antenna cable runs?

hatemaster, open the cover and see if you can find the 2 wires inside. Open the door, then pull out the cover, secure by 3 "pins" only.

The triangular tweeter cover. The wires should be behind it. Does the cover have "pores"?

XC,

as far as i knw,it was there, so im surprised why ur dun have tweeter wiring.
mine still have chassis 8xx .
i dun have wiring at pillars, usualy thts frm car makers. only knw some course, this we need to get frm lancer wiring diagram and i think can be found frm other forums tongue.gif
*
I got the manuals for lancer, I was wondering if Ins is different. Someone mentioned the radio issue is caused by the antenna wiring going through some wiring harness causing noise which in "turns on" Clarion's noise reduction "feature". Can you help find out if there's any "funny" wiring there?

Mine still have the tweeter wiring and cover got pores. Some of our members don't have and tweeter cover also no more pores.

Hmmm.. not really sure whether they can do this or not. Proton might breach the agreement with Mitsu if doing this.

I heard a news from a friend of mine that Proton currently are facing lawsuit from Mitsu cos of changing the absorber ( not using like what being fitted in Lancer ). Of course Proton did improve the handling compare to Lancer as they tested that if you sped the Lancer at 180kmj n above the back end of the car would become unstable n swaying, as for Inspira I bet you guys felt it much more stable rite smile.gif

So I'm doubt Proton would change any other parts but still anything could happen..hehhehee
*
Yes, we know the suspension is tuned to stop the lancer tail happy syndrome but it has become softer and comfy. Some of the owners go to reverse this improvement by putting stiffer springs... sigh. In the end depends on their driving style la...

Proton already changed the battery. So what is stopping them from changing the other supporting stuff? They cannot touch the intake, throttle body, engine block, fuel system, ecu, meters (but they switched the rpm n speed) and exhaust. Other than these... they can eventually localise. This happened in the first proton saga... Initial batches lasted "forever" but later batches were problem prone n full of sounds...

Other parts are all the internal body panels, dashboard, seats (already changed), power window, windows mostly localised, what else? On the hindside, localise means cheaper parts for long term maintenance affordability. MMC windscreen for 2.0 cost a bomb, local 1.8 windscreen cost 1/3 of it.
