haha i didnt know inspira was using irridium. ok ok  wont touch that.

im thinking of using RS brake pads.. wonder if it is better than stock?

what about cam pulley and cam shaft? change that = more torque right?

what extractor to use? 4-2-1 or 4-1 ? what brands? i have no idea in this...
*
Brake pads? Use those rating for street use else it will be worst than stock. High performance pads need to heat up in order to be effective otherwise it will not bite, so coming out of your house to the end of the street, u might find that your stopping distance sucks... and can be dangerous.

I would not touch cam pulley or shaft for my mivec engine and mess up everything. It will not help that much lightening pulleys. Probably on track (where mili-second counts) but not on normal street use.

Extractor, the popular one is hotbits from speedworks which has dynoed their performance. Our current one is 4-2-1 then 2" stainless steel pipe all the way to rear silencer. Do not trade in your silencer box or cat, its worth few K, keep it for later use or sell outside.

I agreed also, interested in inspira. came to this thread to know more about inspira pros & cons, customer feedback of the car but instead all i got info is regarding car accessories, promotion of buying and selling.  sweat.gif
*
Everything is pro about the car.. its value for money, performance, fc, build, etc.. Read the previous version 4-5 for more relevant details but also seems to have many mods related stuff.

Con is, too many accessories to suck our money... jealous stares from lancer owners... and possibly speeding tickets.

guys, can i know the brand of the speaker used in inspira? not the Rockford Fosgate like in the lancer right?

saw some discount in mudah, it makes the 2.0 inspira priced so near to 1.6 forte, and of cos 2.0 inspira is much better than 1.6 forte.

hem, dilemma.
*
Inspira uses Clarion systems with VAPS. Rockford only available for Euro or US lancer models.

Why buy from mudah when you can walk into any proton authorised showroom?

how to identify either this inspira is CBU from japan... i had the chasis code "PLJCY3SNRBF000865" is this the CBU from japan batch code? I'm worry about the saleman scams..
*
Most salesman will scam. Chassis number starting with P are all locally assembled. Only thing this is the 865th unit assembled that probably contains more Jap parts.

For the benefit of those who missed me posting this chart, here it is again. Those from Japan will start with J.
P denotes Proton as per all other proton car chassis.

I dunno if this is made in Japan ..
normally proton cars will be "PL1" , but this one "PLJ"

CY3S --> stand for Inspira 1.8
CY4S --> inspira 2.0
CY3SN --> Inspira 1.8 MT
CY3ST --> inspira 1.8 CVT
CY4ST --> Inspira 2.0 CVT
*
Just see the 4 side window is embossed with Proton logo or Mitsu logo. A CBU will not have proton logo. Steering also should have mitsu instead of proton. So unless proton export the windows and steering panels to Japan for Mitsu to CBU, all Inspira is CKD. So pls dun be conned by SA.

If we continue to act like this, it will bring down the image of the inspirian, i guess........

It just my 2 cents opinion, don't shoot me................
*
So other make owners keep thrashing proton won't bring down their image? Hmmm...

Went to coe 8 times.

Everytime they tighten the absorber. No sound for a week at most ?

The whistling sound, they changed the window rubber twice =.= .

honestly. proton engineers are idiots.

since there are so many complains. you would expect them to get it right after 8 times.

Added on May 27, 2011, 5:49 pm

He started with the insult first. Please report him then.

Why in the world I would proceed to buy one.

Read dude.. I thought i was being smart when I took the insurance money, saved 40 k and bought a similar class car to the civic.
Mine is one of the first batch of inspira to come off the production line. chassis number < 500 .. How to read forums when i was one of the first to own the car in the first place. =.=
*
For the absorber sound, I think most of us have it but some really don't. Its due to that bump rubber at the top of the abs that is tight, so when its cold, it rubs agaist the rod. when its warmer after moving ard, the squeek is gone. Proton is supposingly working on the rubber replacement.

Whistling sound - one forumer had this fixed. Its not the rubber but the chrome thing loose, one SC had it tighten back and now is ok. He like you changed the rubber too but problem prevails.

As for poadster, chill la, he thinks that you may be one of the many trolls that come here to complain. Hence the sarcastic remarks. We get many trolls & proton bashers coming here to cause problems. In person he is ok.

Apart from these issues, the car is a great drive. Come join us for tt at PJ today.

front i am unsure, but inspira already have rear anti roll bar. original is 16mm as mentioned by some of our bros here, whereas UR rear anti roll is 23mm, which is thicker.

Added on May 31, 2011, 2:18 pm

ok, tks...that means no pipe water, only distilled.
*
Thicker antiroll bars does not mean better. Yes, car don't roll that much but it has to work hand in hand with the spring. Inspira springs are soft, so if roll bar too stiff, the chances of other wheel lifting is more often; which also means less grip during corners and too much weight on one side = flipping over. Even in rally, they do no put the stiffest bar they can find, it depends on the track and the dampers used. Inspira was tuned for msian bumpy roads and unpredictable corners.

Inspira body rolls a lot but almost impossible to lose its tail. A stiffer setup means more sliding around until u put on more grippy tires. So you either do the whole works or don't start. Lancer had a stiffer setup but it loses its tail quite often and oversteers; this is something proton improved on but most drivers do not understand and start changing to stiffer setup like lancer. This is what proton meant when they say they made the car's handling better.

The ride is yours, so you decide.
