Some Important Resume preparation tips

* Don't overcrowd your resume; allow for plenty of white space.

* Keep your resume to one page whenever possible.

* Keep the number of fonts you use to a minimum -- two at the most.

* Use a font that is easy to read. Times Roman works well.

* Do not justify the lines of type on your resume. Allow the right side of the page to "rag."

* Do not overuse capitalization, italics, underlines, or other emphasizing features.

* Make sure your name, address, and a phone number appear on your resume and all correspondence, preferably at the top of the page.

* Print your resume on white or cream paper using a good-quality printer.

* Second- and third-generation photocopies must be avoided

* Print on one side of the paper only.

All too true. The interviewer won't waste time flipping through an 'essay' on your life, expertise and other stuff. Piling everything into a resume is going to result in them skipping over the important parts and getting the bad stuff...

Keeping it simple and straight to the point is the best way to go. Don't piss em off by wasting their time and yours.

I wonder if this is the right place to ask:

I had been applying for jobs in other other companies, while at the same time still working in my current company. Problem is: I always get miss calls (which i think could be interviewer asking me to go for interview) whenever I had discussion with my boss or having a meeting.. sad.gif  When I tried to call back, I could not get through the number, so i guess it's a company's random number... HAppen a few times already

So I wanna post question to those who are used to interviewing people.. Will you still go on contacting your candidates if you can't reach him for first or second time??

Thanks

i think it wont apply to all of the interviewers...
it's just perhaps
at that time, they want to see what's ur respond due that misscalling...

but as soon as u get it,
then directly calling them is one of the proper thing to do..

so wink.gif that's it

Wow, a really resourceful thread wink.gif

Well, after reading books or online info, and discussing with friends or some seniors, there is a need to really think what you really want and how u want to get there. There is no 1 absolute method and path suitable for everyone.

A good resource for information related to Career and Education can be found here. I believe the content there is quite beneficial; it consists of interview techniques, career advice, success stories and many more. It would certainly be useful to fresh graduates and job seekers. Highly recommended!
