haha last time used to do the whole cone, cone and rubber itself.. but only for subwoofer, as the midrange cone is too soft it's gonna be soaked the minute i apply the silicone.

some speakers with metal driver have no problem with it, cause doesn't absorb liquid like the ordinary paper..

I remember when I'm young I had phobia on oiling the speaker cone, I used car leather protectant to shine up the cone then end up blurry sound comes out...become very very bad sounding because the cone soften already. After that I start to apply carefully on the surround without touching the paper cone.

PP cone and metal cone are ok with it...it is built to resistance on moisture and it is much harder than paper cone.

To prevent moisture affecting the sound you can try apply very thin layer of PVA glue reinforce it, but becareful and do it at your own risk.

omg that in the end I test NE5532 opamp for my speaker and prefer it after all the other opamps I had in my hand.

Added on September 22, 2011, 11:27 pmUsed silicone spray on the woofer port, smooth but does no help so far lol....

Use it to keep the surround soft is more effective.

*
not sure but this is what I learned

for headphones
soundstage sounded like you're in a wide huge area thanks to the way they designed the speaker enclosure
and sometimes a tiny reverb/echo creates an awesome soundstage

so I'm guessing that tiny reverb/echo is what implies to soundstage for speakers
(till now I have yet to know how it sounds like on speakers. I've only tested flat and boxed speakers and this is what I learnt)

separation...
depends on what you mean though
but mostly it refers to music and vocal separation.
if music and vocals sounded like together... then the separation sux
if you can hear vocals and music separately(cleanly) then the separation is awesome(or it could get too much too)
separation is identified when both music and vocals play on the same volume to see if these two elements are well separated or well blend.

hope chu understand XD

a friend of mine just bought a Edifier Aurora (MP300). looks exactly the same as the previous MP300+ that I used, except this time Edifier have upgraded the power supply, from 1.3A to 1.65A. not bad, considering the Plus supposedly is improved version from the original MP300...

I tried auto silicone spray to lubricate all the connectors, prevent oxidize seems promising and the lube is very light that won't make the whole connector oily...

But then I plugged back everything and testing any channel imbalance problem then found out everything sounds thinner sweat.gif

I see, thanks for the explaination thumbup.gif notworthy.gif

Btw, does it make any difference by changing the cables of my S730D? Coz the cables look so cheap doh.gif Probably wait for the Essence STX first and buy RCA>RCA from wotiyo or PCWork? hmm.gif

Separation is mostly related to staging and imaging. Dynamic range is more like the difference in range of intensity (roughly elaborated, in music, the difference in volume between the loudest and softest sounds).

hmm.gif

So how about those higher quality audio files where you can easily hear "separation" between the vocals and the background music? It's not all glued together like one big jumbled mess

Could that be what you said, imagine and focusing? hmm.gif
