I'm guessing it's cable problem...
just let the warranty do the job...
I guess just bring the satellite should do the job.(ask Mr. Edifier for more info)

next time when you got your satellites back, remember not to bend your wires too much icon_rolleyes.gif

cable problem normally if you bend it correctly the sound will come back, but if didn't the sound will be gone

Then is there any way to determine whether is cable problem or speaker problem?
Or must bring back to Edifier only can check?

most commonly cable problem...
you'll know when you test bend at all parts of cable/interconnect. you'll hear cracking sound

check for speaker wire/RCA to 3.5mm by bending them slightly... in your case, bending them might suddenly revive the sound for a moment.

Warranty is the best way since you don't have to do the work, they'll check for you icon_rolleyes.gif

If overheated the speaker then should be no sound at all coz the voice coil is burned or blurry sound at beginning after that back to normal where your voice coil is still safe.

Amp overheat will like off suddenly, but amplifier chip will get your finger cooked.

but wait...you playing the songs at max volume always? or just normal listening volume?

LOL... I tried that in lab before. Fried one op-amp before xD Touched it with finger. It's hell so hot!! Another time i tried is transistor... Placed wrongly as i rmb-ed the CBE wrongly xD Super hot but what's miracle is... The transistor is still WORKING~ Hehe... My friend's group ever blow up an op-amp, with SMOKE coming out!!! Epic! They connected +-12V in reverse way xD

I don't think that will be a prob though. Edifier casing is so thick that it should be able to eliminate the heat from outside from getting to the driver. And... Your laptop won't be pumping out hot air @ 100'C right... It will only pump out WARM air instead of HOT air. You're not "sticking" your speaker to your laptop pun...

But if you didn't blast like mad it should be working fine....
Looks like there are no heatsinks at the back of the woofer, are they?

When gaming my laptop temp goes up to about 80+ to 90 degree leh, the air is seriously very hot, so I think that's the reason, now don't dare put beside my laptop d.
