QUOTE(michaelfoo @ Dec 8 2005, 09:33 AM) Hi guys, I have the PX100, using it straight out of my iPod Mini (which should be a little worst than your Nano)Furthermore, anyone knows the technical specs of the original iPod earphone that comes with the device? Any idea whether the lower range of Sennheiser (PX100 & PX200) can increase audio experience when plugged into the iPod without going through amplifier, if compared to the original iPod earphone? I intend to get a better headphone/earphone for my iPod but I'm concerned on how much sound quality improvement will I experience if I use it on my Nano with songs coded into 128kbps AAC? Thank you. They're pretty good and i'd say a huge improvement over the stock ipod earphones About the in-ear thing, if u dont mind headphones instead, they should sound better than the in-ears at this price PX100 sounds better than the EX71 IMO, but i still need the EX71s cause its more portable They dont really block much noise, at low volumes u still can hear lotsa outside noise, but if u blast them a bit you'll be isolated First thing u might wanna decide is what kinda phones you're looking for If u need the portability then its earphones, if u dont mind slightly bigger then the headphones would probably sound better (i've never heard all of them myself or read a comparison among them, so i cant say which is actually better) Some ppl dont like normal headphones cause it messes their hair and stuff |

QUOTE(michaelfoo @ Dec 8 2005, 05:06 PM) Hi KilJim, Good idea, better test first also. It might not be to your liking I would say the sound quality of earbud that comes with my Nano is pretty good. As such, I won't be dumping them away. Perhaps a headphone is more suitable for me and I'll be testing the PX100 if I drop by Midvalley. When I need portability, I'll use back the earbud, else will be the PX100. Another headphones that attract me are Grado SX60 (recommended by Alamak), Sennheiser EH Series & HD Series. I believe the EH & HD series have better noise insulator if compared to the PX? Thanks. The SR60 u mean? Should be pretty good based on all the good user reviews. But its priced roughly RM270, might be a little above your budget The EH & HD series arent portable, should have a little better isolation but they're not full sized so they wont be as comfortable If you're looking for something to use at home, why not go all out with full-sized cans |

QUOTE(michaelfoo @ Dec 15 2005, 05:20 PM) I bought a new PX100 for RM190 at Mediaplex in Midvalley. Bass too weak? Sound is pretty promising but the bass is a bit weak to me. Treble is fine. I can feel the improvement from the upgrade of iPod's earbuds. But overall I'm satisfied with it. Might seek into higher end Sennheiser headphones in future for my non-portable device, haha It's too strong for my taste If u get any higher end phones the bass is just gonna get weaker and weaker |

not shop of course, from someone who said its from an anual dinner (guess its a company gift?)
was brand new and sealed wont tell exactly how much la at first when i tried the tri-flanges, it sounded extremely bright with no bass at all! so i tried the foamies and the bass came out (same as what your experienced i guess), but somehow i cant get the foams deep enough tried back the tri-flanges again, this time pushing them almost all the way in, and it sounded as good as the foamies nicer fit, so i decided to go with the flanges instead plus its less hassle putting them in, no need to compress the foams first |

QUOTE(ifer @ Jan 15 2006, 05:17 PM) i own the sony 888 and it rocks. recently, i have tried modded it like what head-fi forumers have tried and i find it that the sound is even better than the original unmodded. say it's only psychological effect but i am a believer. *koff* who gave u the idea to do the mod? but having said that... i dont wear my sony 888 when i am travelling (by bus) to my work place. the rapidkl lousy bus engine is too loud and i use my er-6i to cut those sound off. and even more recently i have gotten a used grado sr-60 from an lynian. and i have been metallica all the way since, using this baby! agrh...i feel like trying some Grado models too...since almost my whole playlist are rock songs the etys are pretty good at blocking out noise btw, you're using the foams right now? i modded my 3-flange to a 2-flange |
