u should go for it.
a lot of rpg are coming to 3ds such as dq7 remake,entrian oddesey,also all the game u stated are already in there.
700 for 3dsxl with game and 8gb is a great deal imo,go for it

i see that u have both 3ds and vita. In your opinion is there a huge diff in graphic when u compare best titles on both consoles? (eg resident evil revelation vs uncharted). Personally, which system do u like better?

Edit: btw is it necessary to have crystal casing for the 3ds xl? do u guys use it?

Hey there.. I'm looking to get myself a Flame Red 3ds probably in December (as an incentive to studying like mad for STPM... ). Went to a few physical stores already and I noticed these small 'round stickers' on the 3ds boxes and sometimes on the games too.

Some of them are red, while others green. Do these stickers tell you anything about the console's region or something?

And, aside from the serial number.. is there any other way to determine the console's region? It's because there's this particular shop that I went... I asked the shopkeeper about the console's region, and the first thing he told me that the regions doesn't matter, and he *thinks* he's selling the US ones..eek.

I've been following this thread (like a ninja.. ) and I know that if I bought the JPN one then I can only play JPN games. Which is why I'm aiming for the US sets...

Hoping that all of you can enlighten me on this...

Just buy your 3DS from any reputable shops in garage sales..saves you a lot of trouble checking the region whatsoever

there isn't any noticeable difference between different region console
if i remember correctly.. ya that sticker if only exist on the Asi version games and console
on other version there's no sticker... my memory is vague ...

the common 3ds you get here would be US/ASI region.. no worries...

I myself is using a crystal case and it's useful 'cause you might rest your console on a dirty or dusty platform so it's safer to get a crystal case instead of silicon or a pouch which can be a nuisance..

Ahh..okay, thanks for that info.. one more thing though:

The serial number of ASI sets starts with...? I know US ones starts with CW..

Correct me if I'm wrong..hehe. .

1) Both the ASI set and US set 3ds can go to the e-shop, right? But which one can be used to purchase stuff there? I'm not really sure... @.@
2) Aside from downloadable games and their demos, videos, applications.. .what else do they offer? Do you find yourself going to the e-shop often?
3) 'Coins' and 'credits' are two different things... right? If so, what are the differences? Just making sure...
4) And lastly (I hope), when you get the 3ds, are there any 'specific checks' that has to be done..? I mean, like... aside from checking whether the buttons, the touchscreen and speakers work...

1. Both using the US Eshop.. you need to set the country to US only can access eshop..
Asi = US 3DS basically...

2. check when got free item at eshop.. =.=

3. Coin you get when you bring your 3ds on a walk with your 3ds in sleep mode... coin use for unlock item ... like puzzle in find mii...
credits use for purchase games and DLC... you get credit with real life currency...

4. no idea... never check my when i purchase
