QUOTE(hackwire @ Sep 17 2011, 02:13 PM) im researching for media player but this thread at first said all the good thing about this player but when i reach the latest discussion , all sorts of problems start to appear by the buyers like firmware and their complications. any alternative to this one? doesn't this look like a nature of all china made players? firmware has no quality control... it gives you love and hate depending on which firmware you are running it on.. |

QUOTE(stevenycs @ Oct 10 2011, 02:23 PM) I am sure that I did that too. I copy and paste the name of the *mkv file title and paste it on the *srt file name. I have never failed to see the subtitle (mostly .srt) in my 600A.but still nothing comes out. is the *nfo file important? Perhaps, try to post the file name of your .mkv and .srt here? |

And which model is that? Is that the green EARS/EARX ? or something else? Not sure if can recover or not. But gonna send the ext HDD back to them and check. |

But then, the USB interfce in 600A is only 2.0, does it worth the extras to get the USB3.0 Sata enclosure?

Himedia A and B series is always differenciate by B being able to host a HDD internally.. Other specs are the same except the USB2.0 in 600A and USB3.0 in B. But mind you, himedia forum has many post about the heat generated in 600B..so pls read more to decide whether u r ok with this 'design defect'.

Well..technically so long as your ext HDD USB3.0 has backward 2.0 compatibility it should work.. I have buffalo 3.0 500GB hooked to 600A, no issue.
Added on November 6, 2011, 12:43 amAnd of course if you have your USB30 HDD ready, bring it along to test it on the spot before u get one. This post has been edited by numbertwo: Nov 6 2011, 12:43 AM |

since 600A confirms can play those .iso file, it is a waste of money just for that extra Mhz IMO.

firmware release from Himedia for 600 series is getting slower and slower.. I hope they are not abandoning this series and diver their attention into 900x now... If it is the case, I would have to think twice before I get my second m.player from this Co.

I don't care much about watching those crap online movie...I didn't purchase this media player to stream those 480p (even if they call it high definition) movies.. So, I'm cracking my head becoz Himedia seems like spending more effort in bringout their Hitv 2.0 than to concentrate on providing a better and more solid firmware..

errr...here goes.
- searching by dragging the timeframe will / might hang the player, this happens on and off.. I cannot find what the symptons is. - network unable to locate my external HDD linked to my laptop thru workgroup. I have to enter specific IP to link it up.. This happens only after upgrading to the current version of .17 i think.. I couldn't even get any clue from himedia forum, neither do they understand my problem. - most frustrating is the subtitle.. was it pgs or sub that isn't supported?? I have forgotten totally and has since stopped waiting for himedia to fix, i have to find .srt to get the subtitle displayed properly for each of my mkv. And of course i was hoping more enhancements to be done on the himedia..but i guess that won't happen in the coming months so leave them.. |

QUOTE(toytoy @ Nov 11 2011, 05:35 PM) Hmm, i have problem no.1, sometimes the player will hang. But i thought it's because like you, my hdd is connected to my pc over the network which is again through homeplug. Hi,For no.2 i have no problem locating my hdd connected to my pc. i m using the latest firmware (Custom) For no.3 i always try to find srt and ass subs. Also, most of the mkvs have internal sub, so mostly i find subs for avi files only. i'm using cable cat5e... and my case applies to only when I do a time-search using the left-right button during the playback... |

QUOTE(richard912 @ Nov 12 2011, 01:51 PM) With cable connection definitely no problems at all but alas, I did not want to hack my walls to pull the cables so, making do with the homeplug (Aztech HL110E). bro, are you streaming move from your Buffalo Link Status Quad?? I am happy to find a Buff Quad user here..as I'm tempted to get this NAS as well, just do not know how it performs by linking Himedia to this NAS via cat5e.. Do share your experience !QUOTE(richard912 @ Nov 12 2011, 01:45 PM) |

ccs221, not sub, but 'sup' build-in subtitle in some mkvs.

is good to have a dream mahcyen.. haha..
Anyway, guys, anyone of you did this to enable moviesheet in your 600A? Please refer : http://www.hdpfans.com/thread-33826-1-1.html This is one feature that I'm dying hard to find out how to get it work... Without moviesheet, it is darn difficult to remember what the movie is about within a sea of movies in my HDD>.. Hopefully some techie here could help find out whether it is easy to do ? : In Chinese : 1. 命令为 sh /usr/local/etc/srjg /jukebox_update.sh -i -p /tmp/usbmounts/sda1/mybt -f sample, trail 5. 参数i 为第一次初始 p 为电影目录(已经有jukebox素材) f 为过滤字符,过滤pt下载中的sample影片 6.执行完毕后在电影目录中会有一个jukebox.rss文件 7.修改/usr/local/etc/scripts/menu.rss加入jukebox.rss。不同高清机方式可能不同。 我是用menu.rss中的自定义二级rss指向jukebox.rss <item>^M <title>Jukebox Movie</title>^M <link>rss_file:///usr/local/etc/srjg/MainJukebox.rss</link>^M <media:thumbnail url="image/usb.png" width="120" height="90" />^M </item> ^M 8.打开高清机的在线应用,打开jukebox。rss就看到电视墙了。选好影片可以看影片介绍和rate,再按ok就可以直接播放。 Translated into English (google) : 1 with Wenl greatly recommended tool thunmgen, to generate the necessary pictures and video wall movie information. See http://www.hdpfans.com/thread-2887-1-3.html 2 Download the attached package srjgv2.zip (84.5 KB, Downloads: 25) 2011-11-20 14:08 Upload Downloads: 25 Download Points: Money -2, -2 contribution 3 features installed to HD using telnet machine's / usr / local / etc directory, install path / usr / local / etc / srjg, chmod 777 * get all the permissions 4 Use the wall command to generate TV rss file. Command sh / usr / local / etc / srjg / jukebox_update.sh-i-p / tmp/usbmounts/sda1/mybt-f sample, trail 5 parameters p i is the first time the initial directory for the film (already jukebox material) f character to filter, filter pt download the sample movie 6 After the implementation of the directory in the movie file will be a jukebox.rss 7 modify / usr / local / etc / scripts / menu.rss join jukebox.rss. HD machine may be different in different ways. I am using a custom two menu.rss in point jukebox.rss rss <item> ^ M <title> Jukebox Movie </ title> ^ M <link> rss_file: / / / usr / local / etc / srjg / MainJukebox.rss </ link> ^ M <media:thumbnail url="image/usb.png" width="120" height="90" /> ^ M </ item> ^ M 8 Open the HD machine online application, open the jukebox. rss to see the TV wall. Selected movie can see the film presentation and rate, then you can play ok. |
