Hi

Wanna ask a very noob question.

If I buy media player, It's not necessary to buy BD player right? cos media player is something like all in one thingy. Am I right?

Simply put, If you have tons of Bluray discs it is better off to get a BD player... if you have tons of downloaded HD movies it would be wiser to get a media player.. that's just my opinion.

ooppss..guys...this is a HiMedia thread...just in case we are swaying away .. biggrin.gif

HD Contents "should be" downloaded from a private tracker if you do not want hollywood to hunt you down when you are torrenting down their movies thru a public tracker.. heh.

From google, i think this Asiabox is streaming HD contents thru those online streaming sites ie. pps, livevod, ... contents should be limited.

20MB unif...a screamer!

if your movie is residing in a folder ie. D:\movie\avatar\avatar.mkv , then you can add a jpg file named 'folder.jpg' under D:\movie\avatar

when you are browsing D:\movie, you will see all the possible movies in a thumbnail format...

If your movie is residing all in one folder ie : D:\movie\avatar.mkv and etc., then you can place a .jpg named the same as the movie file name (avatar.jpg), then you will see all movies thumbnail when you browse the D:\movie folder...

well i guess unless you can point out the good things about xtreamer's GUI, we won't be able to tell you whether HD600A has a better GUI or not... I personally have not use any other player so no comments.. But one thing I know HD600A can't do now compare to wdtv live is the moviesheet preview. HD600A is able to show the movies as poster, but not moviesheet.

Can xTreamer displays moviesheet too?

hi guys..sorry for the delay..yeah i know there are some very angry fans of xtreamer out there...somehow it didn't meet their requirement...but in my case it serves me very well and i thinkits quite robust with network streaming and all....

so far they released almost 40 firmware revision and no real serious bugs la i think...

anyways, not to go of topic, back to himedia...well here is a video link of the xtreamer gui, you guys can have a look and see whther they are more or less equal...

i think himedia seems to be good compared to everythin else...
the new xtreamer..not yet available in the malaysian market yet i think? plus the price will be rm430 or more so i'd like to get the himedia hd600a if its ok
*
i've watched the entire 7+ mins tube, nothing special, nothing that it can do but not Himedia 600A/B..

well, i wanted to know if anyone did actually play it , not just looking at the marketing pitch... biggrin.gif

I have tested two Minibd files , .iso & .m2ts , both works well with 600A opening up the 4 standard menus (including the chapter).

Hi guys, would anyone share their key file with me? Cause on my hd600a I don't have any hard disk connected to it. All my media are stored on a NAS. I was told that I should install YAMJ for better navigation for NAS. And that is why I need the key. Thanks
*
how do you run YAMJ on HD600a? Pls share as it looks interesting...Tks.

hello guys nice to have ppl here using Himedia player I am gonna get mine today in the evening 600A I have some queries.. smone plz answer them

1) I have this old TV ( the old box ones I think it supports NTSC and PAL ) which I am gonna be using though composite cables can some one tell me which cable goes where as in the English manual they have not mentioned it.....

2) Can I watch MKV files with this do I need to change the TV mode or any mode will work ?

3) Is the quality very bad on these Old TVs ?

4)  Has anyone updated the firmware to the latest one HD600_1.0.3.4 is it safe to do it ? its not available on their English website yet ?
*
errr...i'm sure u need at least a HD Ready LCD or LED to see the effect of your MKV movies.. that's the first thing you must change.

Himedia has a composite too, just follow the color code you will be fine.

My set is running on 1.0.3.4, no issue. In fact a new update has just came out .. 1.0.4.12.. about to flash my set soon.

I am also keen to know how to change to a different font as I find the embedded English/Chinese font too plain for my likings.  If someone knows a good source to download a different font, please provide a link.

You mentioned you can change it from the Menu when playing a movie, how?  I can't seem to do that even when the movie is being played.

Hi there, where about is the latest firmware 1.0.4.12?

The China Hi-Media firmware update link Hi-Media Firmware Update, still shows 1.0.3.4?
*
Hi , the release is for beta/internal test , you may get the rar file here : http://bbs.himedia-tech.cn/forum.php?mod=v...&extra=page%3D1

Apparently they released something called HiTV 2.0... http://bbs.himedia-tech.cn/forum.php?mod=v...&extra=page%3D1

I haven't done the upgrade yet so, no idea if it works.. smile.gif
