what do u mean by switch from mandarin to cantonese? the language option in your movie? that is changeable using the remote button 'audio' if your movie file has two sound tracks.... No issue with my 600A

But I think himedia just inherits the old problem in 600x and carries it into 900x...

I suppose video quality is hard to tell by someone with bare eyes and not into details.. unless some experts would like to do some comparisons and tell us.

After reading all the threads, decided and purchased HD600A. Tested on the picture quality, it far better then my old first generation WDTV. The PQ is more natural and sharp, and the aspect ratio auto adjust to fit the tv very well. Not to mention the audio too is better.

I connect it to the modem through hard wire. And once on the player, it auto update the firmware to the latest one. Tried play some online content (china sites), only few can be played smoothly.

So far satisfied with the player.

I didn't know that 600A has this auto-firmware update feature!! Are you talking about HiTV updation? smile.gif Welcome to the himedia club!

Would appreciate some tips on how to insert cover image of movies in the movie library. Currently all my movies do not have any image cover.
*
in the same folder as your movie, name the cover image same as your movie file.

ie.
movie file "abc.mkv",
cover image "abc.jpg", or "folder.jpg".

In fact, i found that it takes the first image file found in the movie folder as the cover image, irregardless of the filename...

why don't you seek assistance to your seller if you believe it is a hardware problem?? U prefer to 'digest' the problem?

I will suggest NOT to buy any wifi model of these china brand media player... u can read a lot of negative comments abt its connection, performance, etc.. Just grap a simple unit if you ain't gonna stream movie from internet. Anyway, those so-called internet movies' quality sucks big time, it is only as good as dvd's 480p.. But somehow this Himedia spent a lot of time on developing this online movie streaming and forgot about enhancing and stabilising its core media player ...

Are HD900A or HD900B have the function that can set to play on which desire track or clip location?
Mean can set where you want to start movie playing, not must play on start point of the movie.

Thanks.
*
that depends on the type of movie file you are downloading.. If you are just downloading normal 720 .mkv for example you won't have 'tracks'..but if you are downloading miniBD or bluray ISO file then yes u will see the tracks.

Hi 600A will ask me whether I want to resume where it stopped yesterday whenever I play the same movie again. This is a default feature, no setting required. btw..I'm playing .mkv movies 100%, so I cannot say .rmvb movies will behave the same.. But I guess it should!

Go to "SETUP-AUDIO-HDMI Out" and set it as -RAW..

pls at least confirm this is already done? That's what I do and my yamaha is able to decode either DTS / Dolby.. but i think some version of firmware has problem on 5.1 decoding..

I have finally installed a giga switch behind the router, and here is the speed that shows on the tv when I'm accessing the mkv from my nas via cat5e:

600A -> Giga Switch -> 100M Router

NAS -> Giga switch

user posted image

Any one of you getting a higher Kbps?

Previously, without the Giga switch, all devices are plugged into the 100M Router..the speed was just about 50000+ Kbps/sec .. so now it is virtually double the performance... going to download a bluray mkv to test it out soon..

As per Himedia standard, difference between A and B is B can fit in a HDD while A only works with USB source or thru network file sharing.
