I emailed them in the morning around 10am and now my warranty has been updated on the HP website, took less than 2 hours. By the way, here's the website for you to check the warranty.

I bought it about 2 weeks ago @ Mobility Square in Lowyat Plaza.

at first my plan is to buy at KL during my travel next week. while i am window shopping at jb.i saw this goodies.

i went around to see DV6 and got one guy told me about DV6 not available in msia.. @@

it is available in Malaysia, you can find it at most of the computer shops but may not have display unit. please read the thread thoroughly and get some ideas

2 weeks d still can register?

sorry for my laziness.. coz the thread is quite long.. been read tru the front part of the thread and have been poisoned..
so went and look for the real display unit and to my surprise, that fella told me that DV6 is not available in msia..

Added on May 12, 2011, 7:36 pmMine was special case actually, I fax the care pack registration form and invoice to HP on 20/04/2011, until today it was about 15 working days (not include weekend), so I called HP today, and they asked me to email them, then not longer than 2 hours, they have updated my care pack on the website, now my laptop warranty is until 16/04/2014 as I bought my laptop on 16/04/2011.

man, i would like to buy hp dv4 (i7 version) in garage sale but the seller didnt provide invoice because it internal staff purchase not for retail..
and he also said that this internal staff purchase did not require receipt for hp care pack

I hope it is true also...... Becoz my care pack shall be receive just in time, day 10 after the purchased.

Jz got my DV6 from SEC... RM 3800 with Beats Solo, additional 4gb ram, Free targus magnum, targus backpack...
edit: oh ya.. i reli hope its 30 days... coz my invoice is dated 8/5/2011 (becoz i order at tat time) hope the 10 days period is counted from today which i get my laptop... P/s: they got write take on 12/5/2011

Hi guys. I'm looking to buy a new laptop.

I've sort of shortlisted these 2
Dell XPS15 and HP dv6 6001tx

They have similar specs. Both using the same processor.
But XPS15 uses a Nvidia GT 540M while DV6 uses AMD Radeon 6770M. 6770M is more powerful.
But Dell offers a 7200rpm hard disk.
Besides that as far as I know, Dell provides the best customer support.

Which one do you guys think is better?

XPS15 is rm3699 and dv6 is rm3699 as well.
But if i choose to not get the Beats headset, seems like I can shave off RM400-500.

I have some concern regarding the HP warranty. How is the warranty? What does it cover? Will I void the warranty if i upgrade the RAM myself?

And the most important being how to make warranty claims if anything is defective? Where do I send the laptop back for repair?
This is the biggest concern as I'll be moving to Batu Pahat in a few months' time. From the HP website, the nearest HP service centre is in Muar which is 1 hour's drive away. Is there any other options (any other places?) other than dropping them off at the HP service centre?

I would advice not to take the Targus Magnum laptop bag.

quite heavy seriously the Targus Magnum alone. its quality build but very heavy. regret for not swapping it for a HP Backpack.

ya... oso thought so... but its free... no choice... haha... btw i bought targus backpack which is lighter than the magnum
