Hi guys. I'm looking to buy a new laptop.
I've sort of shortlisted these 2
Dell XPS15 and HP dv6 6001tx
They have similar specs. Both using the same processor.
But XPS15 uses a Nvidia GT 540M while DV6 uses AMD Radeon 6770M. 6770M is more powerful.
But Dell offers a 7200rpm hard disk.
Besides that as far as I know, Dell provides the best customer support.
Which one do you guys think is better?
XPS15 is rm3699 and dv6 is rm3699 as well.
But if i choose to not get the Beats headset, seems like I can shave off RM400-500.
I have some concern regarding the HP warranty. How is the warranty? What does it cover? Will I void the warranty if i upgrade the RAM myself?
And the most important being how to make warranty claims if anything is defective? Where do I send the laptop back for repair?
This is the biggest concern as I'll be moving to Batu Pahat in a few months' time. From the HP website, the nearest HP service centre is in Muar which is 1 hour's drive away. Is there any other options (any other places?) other than dropping them off at the HP service centre?

Hi Guys. I've just gotten my 6001tx recently.
The touchpad has a white light glow around it.
But today while playing game, the glowing light around it went of suddenly.
The touchpad is still working. But the glow just isn't there anymore. Is there a setting to turn it on or off?? I tried restarting and the light still doesn't come back. Is it defective??

I got 2 BSODs in these 2 weeks of using this laptop...
Both happened minutes after windows telling me that "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"
Anyone faced this before? Dont know what's the cause..
So thought of maybe updating it to see if it helps..

Oh.. i get that prompt few times also when i'm playing Shift 2 and benchmarking with 3DMarkVantage while overclocking. But i didn't get any BSOD yet. What is the temperatures at that time? Neh.. Probably not a temperature issue. I just woke up at that time and it happened shortly after i open the screen... I've had many hours of CoDs without any issues |

I've gotten so many BSODs now. A few times after the error message saying the graphic card stopped responding and recovered and many times when I'm away so not sure what's the error.
Anyone faced the same situation? Any solutions to that?
