you devil!  brows.gif
anyway just back from BTS because parents come, i tried to poisoned my dad with D5100... but BTS dun have ...anyway just wan show new beginner body are easy to use compare to my D70s hehe...
D5100 can auto focus in video mode right?
my point to poison him compare to my D70s is...
1) dun have many buttons...all setting at menu there.
2) light weight, small body, better grip?
3) bigger view finder, nicer view finder, bigger coverage....dem i also wan to change body ...kena poison bek  doh.gif
4) bigger monitor, tilt screen
5) video mode, that's my point hehe... and ya i give him a good example... if use normal view cam, under bright sun light... LCD monitor is very hard to seen what you record so i tried to poison him with D5100 because got view finder if live view cannot use under strong light hehe  brows.gif
6) Price?
7) VR kit lens?

anything can add for this? wan poison him more hehe  brows.gif
because in before that he wan get a new camcorder, so when i saw D5100 release i think this is best chance to poison him this. hehe. (PS: he was nikon kaki before hehe)

1. It is a disadvantage and not an advantage.
2. I am not sure about this... but if compare D5100 and D90, the D90 has better grip.
3. Not sure on this point
4. Yes this is a selling point for D5100
5. Okay...
6. Hmm...
7. Well, your dad would just save the money and buy you the kit lens, no? tongue.gif

Yeah, its just like a torch light tongue.gif
*
Yea, jus like a torch light, I think I'll customize one custom setting for turning on AF assist and high auto iso...makes it easier to change settings when shooting in pitch darkness.
QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Apr 24 2011, 06:24 PM)
if you are expecting some candid shoot in low light. I'd say it's pretty hard lor..
flash? AF assist? torch.. all these things grab attentions tongue.gif

I did once using torch light. tongue.gif
*
Yeah I didnt turn the AF assist on cos it grabs attention and I like candid shots tongue.gif torch light is a good idea but it's troublesome cos u got to use the other hand and then change to manual mode... By then the moment is gone already.

Memory card is very important, what memory card are you using? Did you do a format in body before shooting? Its good to format to sure the FAT is okay.

1) he is not good in DSLR era stuff, so too many buttons is not good for him lol..he prefer simple setting like how he use film camera?
2) i was compare the grip of viewcam/ EVIL camera /non-dslr with DSLR grip hehe. tongue.gif
3) i was compare D5100 with D70s view finder... that's got huge different for people who wear spec.
6) price i also duno since dun have the price yet, estimate 2k-2.4k plus? with this price can get a good viewcam model or not? hmm.gif (nevermind, i let him decide hehe)
7) i mean D5100 included VR kit lens compare to mine la haha...anyway does VR function in video mode?

You are asking why sometimes in A mode the metering appears and sometimes not right?

I need to double check... but if I remember correctly that is the reason.

Yeap, I was wondering why it sometime appear and sometime not nod.gif

If I remember correctly, the metering is positive on the left and negative on the right, thus

+ ..........|.......... -

Still left mean overexposed and right is underexposed?

QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Apr 24 2011, 03:57 PM)
and you just conclude your doubt tongue.gif
yeah was tempting to own 50 1.8D and having the built in motor. but now no more. maybe for tokina 11-16 only.
it shouldn't be blink blink. green dot has to stay there. if it is blink means it is close to focus.
for metering goes for + sign means more light comes to your sensor (over)
on the other hand for - sign means less light comes to your sensor (under)
*
Actually, I didn't get what you guys were talking about the blink blink thingy. Please enlighten me with it please?

So, it's still to the left mean overexposed and to the right mean underexposed?

Just wondering is this D7000 a good body to go and if it's to compare to a Canon body, which would it be?
In the body lineup, D7000 can consider as a mid end body?
I'm a Canon user so I'm not quite familiar with these, hope people could help me out.

D7000 is a higher range -mid end body aside of D300s...but because of new technology nikon used, many users compare D7000 with D300s, or D700(?)....

for me this is a very good crop sensor DSLR. biggrin.gif

*non-owner of D7000. so cannot trust me lol....

wan clearer review google or wait the real owner write this review hehe.

19 x 20sec exposure.
That's what you get for the laser, lights & fountain show for about 10min+
And the amount of overwhleming crowds.

Just remember the + and -
+ = more, means overexpose
- = less, means underexpose

The blink blink thingy is the FOCUS. When you look into the viewfinder, on the BOTTOM LEFT, you will see the BLINK BLINK. When it's IN FOCUS, it will be one green DOT. IF not, it will show arrow left or right, when focusing; Try to change to manual focus, this arrow will GUIDE you to turn the focus ring to focus.
