QUOTE(shamsul_LP @ Apr 24 2011, 09:43 AM) guy...sorry if out of topic...does missing a built in focus motor is a big issue?really like d5100 but the only disadvantages for me is body motor... Initially felt so. afterward not anymore. well it depends on person thought and preference.as for me I thought of having motor is an extra value where as having no built in motor just fine. because eventually you will upgrade to AF-S lenses |

To be honest, the only lens I have that requires the built in motor is the 50mm f/1.8D as for me I thought of having motor is an extra value where as having no built in motor just fine. because eventually you will upgrade to AF-S lenses |

The metering...
+ ..... | ..... - To the left mean the photo is underexposed, to the right mean the photo is overexposed. Do we need to enable or disable the metering from the option? Because I'm using A mode on D7K, sometime it appears and sometime it doesn't. However, it seems to appear all the time in M mode? Which setting to always enable it? Please do correct me if I'm wrong |

QUOTE(vearn27 @ Apr 24 2011, 12:36 PM) The metering... In A or P or S mode it is always metered to balance in the middle. The only time the meter appears is that the camera is not possible to balance it for you. Say for example you shoot in broad day light at f/1.4 and your shutter limit is only 1/8000s. The shutter cannot go any faster to compensate for the overexposure. Then the camera will display the metering.+ ..... | ..... - To the left mean the photo is underexposed, to the right mean the photo is overexposed. In the example of situation you given, you mean the camera couldn't go any faster than 1/8000s and couldn't adjust the aperture when shooting in A mode therefore showing up the metering?Or when you use exposure compensation I think it might appear too... (don't really recall :S been using manual most of the time) The metering only will be displayed when adjustment is required? Please could you elaborate more the usage of the metering? |

You are asking why sometimes in A mode the metering appears and sometimes not right?
I need to double check... but if I remember correctly that is the reason. |
