And I thought we'd have to make our own version of the M15x-R3 with GPU mods to a new card etc. Well I hope a better GPU like say a 2GB card from either NVidia or ATI besides the obvious upgrade to the 2nd gen i7 proc. A bigger power supply too. Wonder if it will inherit the soft touch surface of the M17x-R3? Hmmm..... Looks like I will have to wait longer before making a move on the ATI Swap for my M15x. M18x to Malaysia would be great too

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ May 19 2011, 11:18 AM) Btw, how big is the difference between GT555M (alienware M14x) and GTX260M (alienware m17x R1)?and how big is the difference between GT555M and GTX460M? If GT555M is powerful enough for future games, I might consider M14x (cause its the cheapest for me, M11x R3 is just too small for gaming and work...) But its definitely no match for the GTX460m Compromises must be made for smaller sized laptops... the GT555m is considered as very good already I would say... but then if you're a hardcore gamer, M15/17x would be better picks due to the better specs/ upgradability |

Mission failed...going back home to the Philippines in an hour, no retail m11x R3s anywhere. Will have to regroup and find another way once I get back.
On-topic, wow, I thought the m15x was phased out already. I'd still prefer the m14x though for portability. |
