somehow i feel the m14x have lots of limitation on graphic card.. cant upgrade to a powerful 1 right? but i like the size and weight though compare to my m15x

hi all, i just got my m17x r2 last few month and i notice that there is a very high frequency sound like those electric sound(yi~~~)kind of sound coming from the laptop whenever the power adapter is turn on even when the laptop is off.

Anyone else face this before?

adapter problem? or maybe from power socket... cuz everytime this problem happens to TV~

Ya the sound is the same with those coming from crt tv. The sound are coming from the left speaker hole. Dell have change the motherboard before but the sound come back after few days. Then they take my m17x back for 3weeks and change almost everythings(almost everythings was told by the phone support girl) but still unable to solve.

But because my m17x is refurbish item so they said can't refund or exchange the unit. So they try to conclude as my expectation is too high for the unit. Now they will send the last service to change the mobo, speaker, power adapter and power cord.

None of you all face this problem?

i noe my inspiron got this problem b4 ... its adapter problem... but ur case i donno...

M14X though not really powerful but still can handle Starcraft 2 4v4 late game big battle using Ultra setting

Somemore tried Battlefield 3 MP using Ultra setting also no problem

Btw, I didn't do any overclock yet.

like that then bf3 is 260M killer.. lol jerky on medium setting.. ultra noneed play liaoz.. ahah

Hi, I will order my M14x by the end of Nov, so should i take the 1.5GB GT555M or the 3GB one?

Mine too Bought 25th July 2010 till now.
But I'm not SSD


Go for 1.5GB since 3GB doesn't really provide any improvement.
CPU is more important.
