QUOTE(MandyG @ Sep 23 2011, 08:34 PM) I could like to ask, I better use Maybank Cerry Debit Visa or PBB Day 2Day Visa when I go oversea? Maybank no cash rebate but they send email to me stated that no conversion fee been imposed, PBB charged 1.255% with US dollar as base currency but got 0.3% cash back. Or I just use my HLB Credit card/ Citibank Visa? mbb debit card no have conversion fees? 0.5%?

It would be better if you could compare 2 cards. One card doesn't tell anything.

The diff between MBB cards and other cards varies. In my article Overseas Transaction What Credit Card Is The Best? Part II, there was once MBB Visa and DA WMC rate almost same but on another day the diff was close to 1%. See spoiler below » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I swiped HKD 960 with MBB Visa but I chose to settle in MYR at MYR 400.22. The conversion rate is 0.4169 (2.3987) on the receipt.
Which method will be better (lower fee involved)? To swipe in HKD? Or to settle in MYR?
Thank you.

QUOTE(David83 @ Nov 2 2011, 12:41 PM) Any reason why? Sorry I'm new in foreign currency transaction. Because it's higher conversion from an overseas merchant bank compared to Malaysian bank. Tried and you shall see.

QUOTE(David83 @ Nov 2 2011, 12:41 PM) Any reason why? Sorry I'm new in foreign currency transaction. Tried this myself a few times in Hong Kong, Taipei and Beijing. The final rate converted by our card issuer bank is always lower than the one quoted by the bank providing the credit card processing terminal.
