aite thanks benny...i'll try to flash again. you mean extract the zip file and copy the update.zip to internal sdcard?

Just copy the update zip file to internal SD card or external SD card. Boot to recovery mode, select update zip file

Don't use rom manager unless your set is imported from those stated. It will not work if is not from them
For recovery you can install modaco R1 or overcome kernel

on my unit at 3pn with light usage on 3g, no phone call, few download and it left 50% now (8.27 pm) if normal week day usage, i don't think it can last more then 5 hour .... ......

screen auto off is missing on my unit now, and i just realize it 7 minute later and it drank 12% of my battery ,,,

Use odin - flash to Gingerbread stock . After reboot - go to recovery and just flash the 2.0RC1 full zip

I have switched back to Froyo 2.2.1 Overcome 1.6.4. This is I'd say the most stable rom and I must say I have yet experienced any serious bugs

Using Overcome 2.0 beta 1, bweta 2, RC1 and 2.0 Gold is just frustrating. I install these roms on clean phone ; I even reinstall all my apps but I don't know why I face occasional freezes/hangs ( never on 1.6.4 or earlier versions)/. The extra improvement in speed is not worth any more - I find this rom is unstable. The keyboard is virtually useless trying to use it on this forum lowyat thread to reply postings - I cannot see what I type, the cursor difficult to pinpoint exact location, the cursor jumps wildly - these has improved slightly in ver 2.0 Gold but problem is still there. If I type a new post is much better . I switch to use SteveLin Gingerbread keyboard which is slightly better
Another point - ver 2.0 Gold is a battery guzzler - my usage dips by 10 to 15% more just on continuous browsing vs 1.6.4

really? i dun face such problem O_o so far the battery life still good and never hang
*
Good for you than. Until now I do not know why my Tab freeze especially when browsing - it happens once a while. NOw back on 1.6.4 already 2 days yet to face such. Infact ver 1.6.4 I'd say is near perfect
I monitor my battery usage every hour recording it down and I compared it back to my previous 1.6.4 records. Battery usage depends on user as my unit is always at multitask mode with many apps running in background actively refreshing data ( some every 15 mins, others 30-60 mins )

I am using overcome kernel 2.1.6
If you are now on overcome 2.0 you need to flash JMK stock ROM using odin follow by kernel. Than use recovery mode flash 1.6.4

*
Download and read the manual by pitbull
Everything you want to know is very well explain
It is a step by step guide and I don't think you need anyone to explain furtherif you read it n still cannot understand than pose your questions here. If you are still on officials rom it is compulsory to check and patch your bootloader . again it is all explain in the manual
Spend time read it to avoid fuc$$%g up your tab

Halo there. I have SGT Baseband:P1000DXKM1, Kernel 2.6.32.9 and Froyo.DKKM3. Can you update to 2.3.3 Gingerbread using Odin?
*
YES - download and read the guide written by pitbull from XDA Overcome thread . Read the guide again
These are the steps : Root Tab, Patch bootloader, Use Odin to flash Gingerbread stock, Boot to recovery flash Overcome 2.0 zip

The last step is optional if you do not wish to use a cook rom and just want Gingerbread in its virgin state and fiule system remain as RFS not EXT4

galaxy tab browset error

403 forbidden

wifi no prob, but when insert maxis broadband sim card and connect using 3g,browser appear 403 forbidden

any sifu can help?
*
This error is related to the website - nothing wrong with your Tab or browser or your Maxis line . 403 commonly means forbidden sites.

HTTP Error 403 is an error message which means that you are not authorized to view the web page which you are attempting to load. Usually, the HTTP error 403 – Forbidden means that access to the file/folder you are trying to open has been denied, either on intention or owing to a configuration anomaly. You could attempt using a proxy website if the access is blocked intentionally.

The 403 error is also known as “Forbidden”. The server understood the request, but is declining to perform it. Authorization will not help and the request should not be repeated. If the request method was not “head” and the server desires to make public why the request has not been performed, it should illustrate the reason for the decline in the entity. If the server does not desire to make this information available to the client, the status code 404 (Not Found) can be used as a substitute. In simple terms, it means that the request was an officially permitted request, but the server is declining to reply to it. Unlike a “401 Unauthorized” response, authorizing will not create any change.

The 403 Forbidden error is most often seen when you are attempting to browse to a directory which has directory browsing permissions turned off.

Refer here for a better detailed undersatnding

so we need to select JPZ modem for asia right? am i wrong?
and can i flash it eventhough have only 1gb external card.
and can someone answer me do i need to [atch the bootloader?it says that 'patching bootloaders is really dangerous!' is it compulsory?
*
If you want to flash ver 2.0 and above - use JPZ. this is clearly written in the guide - did you read it ??

It is also written in the guide what is important have at least 3 GB free space in your INTERNAL SD card NOT external card. The external card is not important and not necessary unless you want to copy the 2.0 rom zip file onto it to flash. Copying the rom 2.0 zip into the internal SD card will be OK too.

You MUST check and PATCH the bootloaders ( if you are prompted that is not safe to flash) - just select the big PATCH button shown: it is compulsory step. Don't do it and you risk bricking your Tab. EVERY Rom developer will warn you flashing anything is at YOUR OWN RISK - don't blame them if anything goes wrong - is a standard statement. If you are worry over all these caution statements - DON'T FLASH anything

Repeat again - READ and READ again the manual written by pitbull. He has put in tons of effort , follow all his steps diligently and you will not screwup. If you do, just blame yourself for not reading properly. His steps are already step by step and not necessary to ask for step-by-step again .

All new users are highly recommended to spend time reading page 1 where I have compile a lot of information. The reasons are to help new users to a quick start on using their Tab. Also please LEARN how to use the SEARCH TOPIC box at bottom of page. Most answers are usually at page one or you can find answers using search

*
I suggest READ it again and you will have a better understanding. It is true in our first reading , our eyes tend to skip and our mind wander off easily and we do miss things. What I usually do is I rewrite down all the steps in my own style in a flowchart

Some forum eg Atrix, the rom developer insists the user to read at least THREE times the guide before starting flashing. However compared to the Atrix, flashing the TAB is so much easier

Sorry unable to help. I don't think is the switching wifi/3G issue as I believe this is commonly done by everybody.
First time I hear such issues. Maybe try factory reset your Tab. Backup your apps/data with Titanium Backup and restore back using it. Do not restore the 3rd party browser app - reinstall it separately

anyone in here know how to divert call from tab to another phone

i try changed the setting in tab but it didnt work

please share..
*
1. Your telco account must be a postpaid account - prepaid will not work
2. You can divert to any other telco ( both prepaid or postpaid)
3. You must subscribed to DIVERT/Forward function with your telcos. Some telco by default is disabled. So go and signup this feature with your telco > Some telcos charge a one time fee RM 10 for this activation
4. On Tab, just go to Settings/Call settings and select the choices you need
5. Do check how much you will be charge for each divert. On Celcom postpaid is 10 sen per divert irrespective of call time but I was told Digi charges according to time; Maxis I am not too sure

Buy it - is worth every sen. I paid/donate another about 4 times more than its offered price as I support the developer for this excellent software

My postpaid Celcom just charge me 10 cent for each divert call ; have been using it 5 months already . It is not according to time. What type of Celcom postpaid line you're on ?? Mine is the RM98 unlimited + RM50 call/sms

*
I think you should go back to Celcom to claim back. When I signed up the call divert - I only pay a one time fee RM 10. As I have said, past 5 months all my diverts from the Tab to my prepaid Digi is always ONLY 10 sen irrespective of call time. Infact before I signed up for the divert service I asked and reconfirm is only 10 sen. Maybe your case is also probably due to Maxis having a different agreement vs Digi - just guessing only

As long as you patch your bootloader, you can installed any firmware . It does not mean in Msia must use Msia firmware/Asian firmware. I have been using Europe firmware since day one. Important thing is the baseband radio - do not use USA based radios

There is no official Gingerbread update available yet. Rumors is end June. If your Tab is in its original state, you can upgrade the firmware OTA or through KIES when available. But frankly most users will advise you to do it the unofficial way which is faster and more efficient ( through cook roms )

Not advisable . Any other users think is safe ?

This is the best guaranteed safe way : refer to Overcome 1.6.4 thread for pitbull's guide
- Use Odin flash JMK stock - make sure use right PIT and use JMF radio
- Use recovery mode - flash 1.6.4 zip
