Gingerbread is not officially available for download yet here in Malaysia. KIES download is region specific
You can try overcome Rom for gingerbread. Many users in this thread are using it

Hello, everyone, i wanna ask u guys some things. Hope you can answer them.

1. Is Gingerbread a.k.a Android 2.3 actually available for Galaxy Tab P1000?
2. If I wanted to update from 2.2 to 2.3, what must I do actually?*noob*
3. I have alot of games n software installed in my TAB, so do I really have to back
them up? Or just update straight forward without back up?
4. If so, what is the best back up software available right now. For non root device.

I think that is all my question, I hope somebody in here can help me out..
Thanx yawww.. biggrin.gif

GB officially not available yet
Read page 1 on romflashing to understand. I have posted links. You want easy way try overcome rom to have gingerbread. Download and read the guide written by pitbull before flashing. Next step read the guide again and you are ready to flash
You can use titaniumbackup to backup your app. First time you flash all will be deleted. Read page 1 to understand titanium backup better
For non root youcan use mybackuppro but it doesn't backup data associated with the app. To have this functional your tab must be rooted
Please read page 1 to understand better your tab

Especially to new users in Android. Reminder to seasoned senior members too, lest you have forgotten. Sharing with you a video from XDA. Their comments apply similarly here

So far, MARKET is for free apps.

If interested to buy the full version, how is the procedure already ah? Need to root?

Or do I go to sites eg amazon to purchase?
*
Paid apps market for Malaysia already available since early June. NO need to root to buy apps. You can root to use Market Enabler to fake telco if you so wish

Hi guys, new gtab here. Just bought it last week and wanna ask you guys about warranty isssue here. The seller said it was original sat and not ap set. But when i sms through i warranty it replied that i need to ask retailer to activate it. Then i check the box but it got no blue sticker. Is there other way that i can check for it originality from samsung msia. And also when i restart it show t-mobile logo.
*
You see TMobile means not original Msian set. Samsung sets has Samsung stickers on box. Go back and screw your seller for lying and ask for discount , at least RM 200

u where in shah alam?

now i using 2.33 rooted gingerbread tab.

Why don't you do all of us a favour and post here how you root it ?? I read several users feedback they couldn't do it using SOC after upgrade to official . I will than post it up in page 1. I never use official GB 2.3.3 , so have no idea about the issue of unable to root

Hi guys, as i mention earlier on this thread a weeks ago, my Tab is dead. Cannot turn on, cannot connect to pc etc. Then i decide to send it to Samsung Center. Today, I got a call from them. They said, i VOID the warranty because i root the TAB. They also said something is fault with the motherboard because of it..
I must pay around RM700 if i want they repair the TAB.  mad.gif

now im in dilema. Want to repair or not? What your opinion guys?  icon_question.gif
*
You mean you cannot even put in recovery mode through the hard buttons ?? If you can, it can be restored back using Odin
If motherboard replacement needed, that is the usual costs around RM 800. However I don't think rooting cause motherboard failure
