wow.. sigh..
erm.. so if i help my mom to do the e-filling for the past 15 years, will she be ok then?
basically tomorrow, they will be some income tax officer coming to her work place to do some spot check....

you can fill in the 'pendapatan belakang' or something...just declare it as it is part of your responsibility to declare your salary even if no tax.. somebody once mentioned that he was fined because he didn't declare his income tax even though the tax was nil. normally LHDN people will audit you when u want to withdraw your EPF or something like that..so have to be careful.. blush.gif

Hi
Need help, i deposited RM3K into SSPN account in 2009 to claim the tax deduction.

If I want to claim the same in 2010, should I top-up the account with another 3K to total 6K or I just maintain 3K balance will do?

Thanks in advance

There's no fine if tax payable is NIL coz max fine is 3 times of tax. So if tax =0, fine 0 x 3 =0000! whistling.gif

got 2 category one.

(a) penalty that is 3 times of tax, or
(b) fine between RM300 to RM2,000

if tax payable is NIL then u have to pay the fine under (b)

You should have received distribution statement/receipt from Public Mutual indicating details like gross distribution, distribution payout, tax paid and etc for each fund that got declare distribution.

The fine under B is if you receive AR REGISTERED / Tax officer hand delivering forms to you - and you did not returned it within 30 days. Not that easy to be fined under this section

Taxpayers urged to declare housing loan interest claims accurately

PETALING JAYA: The public has been advised to declare statements and claims accurately to obtain tax relief on housing loan interest.

Inland Revenue Board public relations officer Masrun Maslim said the board has received numerous reports from its branches on false declaration by taxpayers.

"We would like to remind that the tax relief is restricted to only interest on loans given by banks and financial institutions.

"Tax relief of a maximum RM10,000 is deductible for each basis year for three consecutive years of assessment, from the date the interest was first imposed," he said when contacted Friday.

To be eligible for the tax relief, one has to be a citizen, with the relief granted to only one residential property.

The sale and purchase agreement must have been executed between March 10, 2009 and Dec 31, 2010. The residential property must not be rented out for the first three years.

Hmm...

For self employed people, let say their monthly earnings is RM15,000. But in the form, the state there RM5,000. Can they cheat?

No sdn. bhd. or enterprise company. Like a char kuey teow seller can earn that much, but I don't think he's that dumb to put RM15,000.

Yea my question is, can they really cheat? smile.gif

of course not.... with such minimum of income they wun be able to buy car and house... otherwise LHDN will check against ur income...

Plenty of my clients are selling vege and mixed rice, they normally submit as much as they earned and they wun cheat... Only employed ppl with similiar income always try to avoid more tax...

I have a question about this:
Is this where I put all the total sum of the EPF that's been deducted from my salary in 2008? So I should sum up the amount in my 2008 EPF statement under the Syer Pekerja column?

Edit: Er, I just found out the EA form states the total amount EPF paid by me. So... I guess I use this amount?
*
Yes... U should use the amount shown in ur EA form... that portion is 11% that deducted from ur salary every month.

Only Gaji pokok & elaun kritikal(if you are a doctor/dentist then this also tax exempt) is taxable the others are tax exempt for gov servants. If your EC is prepared by AG, follow the EC.

Yes this is quite an interesting new item for Tax2009. The question is, how will we know how much of our monthly payment goes to the main amount (not sure the exact tem, base loan?) and how much goes to interest? We ask the bank?
