Anyone got any idea or heard anything that can shift the backseat to a lower angel? Like the one in Mazda CX5. Just change the two hook like that... sort of..

Since a few have been PM me for 2wd Cruise control. Let me clarify this one shot k.

NO NEED TO ASK SERVICE CENTER
why ? they are trained technician only.. nothing more than that. What they do are purely based on procedure. In malaysia, there is no OPTION to add accessories into the vehicle. To them, they just follow the procedure.

IS THERE ANY HARDMODING ? CUTTING WIRE INVOLVE
No, Its purely plug and play. Nowadays Car manufacture talks about COST. TIME is one of the major costing, to build different wiring for different OPTIONs means will take more time and more cost (in Malaysia alone u have the 2wd , 4wd ..
in other country u get more diff variant, such as with HID projector headlights, AFS,
ASC, 7 airbags, MMCS, etc) .. so to minimize cost, the wiring will be shared.

SOME SHOP TELL ME NEED TO REPLACE THE CLOCK SPRING
What is a clock spring ? a clock spring is a connector between the car main body and your steering wheels, so that your AIRBAG on the steering still works even u turn it left or right, as well as all the controls on the steering. Manufacture will not spend time make a few different clockspring, it is all the same.. just there are some connector un-utilize for those without cruise. Same goes to the wiring behind the wheels.

SOME SHOP TELL ME I NEED TO ADD CLOCK SPRING
As long as u have AIRBAG or Steering control, the clock spring is already there.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The process of adding cruise control
1. Unplug battery
2. remove the driver airbag
3. you will notice the wiring all there.. no matter which batch
4. remove the blank panel .. replace with the one with cruise.
5. install back everything.
6. Find me to activate the cruise. The program are all ready.. as i said again.. it is all about cost, it willl not be cost effective if mitsubishi have to develop multiple program for different variant.. they justs ENABLE or DISABLE it.

WHY CANT MITSUBISHI SERVICE CENTER ENABLE IT ?
They are trained technician .. these option are suppose to be at the factory that roll the car out. WE (Inspira gang have spend a lot of effort to understand the car and ecu, we got all the proper tool and knowledge to SET it like the factory did.

u go to cx5 club, they will die die say cx5 bes

u go to asx club, they will die die say asx bestest

but luckily u go to asx non club, we here all very normal one. no bias. tongue.gif

u need to experience both by test drive first see which one more practical

both are more or less the same size, inside and outside. pricewise, it's good for the trim level they give

but IINM, cx5 has more airbags. mitsu malaysia decided 3 is enough since they have so much confidence in their ASC whistling.gif

Hi all, am at belakong sc.
my asx 4wd is good in everything, except the burning smell while going uphill.
I suspect it is caused by higher RPM(>2500) during uphill.
Had verified with the sc manager, there were same complaints filed by other asx owner.
There are two counter measure currently:
1. Apply coolant, foam, and 3M sticker on major holes, eg: side doors etc
2. Change reverse camera to newer model, which has no hole

Hope that it helps.

Anyway, i am still unclear:
1. Is mivec engine normal to emi this smell all the time, even while rev <2500rpm, just that we did not smell it
2. Is there side effect for closing these "holes", as claimed by sc, they are "breathing holes" connecting from engine to rear

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has issued a nationwide recall for its Lancer, Lancer Sportback, Lancer Evolution and ASX models. The recall involves only CBU units of the aforementioned models manufactured between 2007 and 2010, with the cause for concern pertaining to the V-ribbed belt and brake booster.

Issues concerning the V-ribbed belt affect only the Lancer and its subsequent variants while the ASX will need to have its brake booster inspected. Should a replacement be deemed necessary, Mitsubishi Malaysia will undertake the required steps to rectify the problem with no charge whatsoever to affected customers.

Owners of the locally-assembled ASX need not worry as the recall does not extend to CKD units. Affected owners will be notified by letters issued by MMM – individuals are urged to make the necessary arrangements at any authorised Mitsubishi service centre.

For further enquiries, individuals can contact Mitsubishi Malaysia at its customer care line at 1-800-18-6611, from 9.00am to 5.00pm, every Monday to Friday or visit www.mitsubishi-motors.com.my for more information.

Cx5 pros

Bigger boot (slightly longer car/heavier)
More airbags

ASX pros

Lighter (1350 kg for 2wd) and CVT gearbox. So very fuel efficient.
More value for money. A lot of kit for the cost, also undercuts Cx5 by quite a significant margin.

Tie/ personal preference
Straight rear seats on ASX. Not as comfortable as Cx5 rear seats. Advantage of having straight rear seats is that it can fold flat for extra boot storage. This is not really a pro/con, just personal preference.
CVT on ASX vs auto on CX5. CVT gearbox is fuel saving and efficient but acceleration at low speeds not as good as regular auto. This is also personal preference. Like vroom vroom, CX5 auto more responsive at lower speeds. Want more fuel efficient, Asx CVT more fuel efficient.

No car better than the other lar. My summary:

Asx for fuel economy conscious and more value for money car. Don't need huge boot space.

Cx5 for vroom vroom acceleration at low speeds and slightly larger boot space.

All and all not that much difference between the 2 lar.
