SSD to boost responsiveness, performance will still limited by CPU and GPU...
Notebook normally comes with HDD, you can replace it with SSD..

Glossy makes it hard to work with under certain lighting conditions and angles. Matte is pretty awesome.

I found that few users of A42j around me (include myself) facing a very frequent lagging problem which often results in a system restart. All of us using the 15-460m version. Does anyone face it or might have an idea on the above-mentioned issue?

guys, recently some of my fn shortcuts were not working. Those that were are brightness, turn off screen and sleep only. Anyway, i repaired the ATK driver and now they're working back...except fn+f2(wifi). How do i fix that? Dammit, need to study, but these problems are so annoying if i don't solve them first... shakehead.gif

current user here, i can give u a short pros and cons about it..

pros:
very study, i would say as sturdy as current N series biggrin.gif
i7 woot!
nice chicklet keyboard
big and smooth mousepad
in aircon room, palmrest is really ice cool

cons:
huge power brick
weird placement of power supply port( to the right of vent)
might not have optimus...
sucky speakers
slightly heavier than average 14", due to build quality
no usb 3.0

overall very satisfied, i can live with most of the cons, just annoyed no optimus smile.gif

i duno why...but its not like i have anything that can utilize usb3 anway, do you? biggrin.gif a53sv definitely has hdmi, usb3 i think not...power brick meaning adapter. I thought only sagers or alienwares were huge, this one olso pretty big sad.gif i mean, look at dell's xps15 adapter, prove that its not that i7 needs a huge adapter or anything...

i m trying to find info on asus laptop.

but too bad, their site is very misleading and i cant find much info about A series model. You sure that it has HDMI pot?

Btw, got lag while using multitasking? cos as i know this model is using i7 6m cache memory. should be very fast!

the DDR3 ram is upgradable?

sorry for many noob questions cos i m deciding which laptop to go for.
