ahahaha... the only Core 2 in the user list now...
anyway Alex, i think it's better to put down the CPU and GPU of the laptops in the user list... maybe sth like: astria: N81Vp - Core 2 Duo T9550 + Mobility Radeon HD 4650 |

QUOTE(jerrywan @ Apr 18 2011, 09:43 AM) i c..but currently what i see is all the new lappy using nvidia GPU instead of Ati..any new Ati with those sandy brdge lappy? honestly Asus has always been a strong supporter of NV GPU, even though they make models from both camps...their NV GPU are usually more innovative than AMD ones, such as better cooler, better PCB board, etc... even if u look at past Asus laptop models, majority of them are using NV GPU instead of ATi ones... only when NV GPU are having sub par performance then Asus would switch to ATi ones... eg HD4600 vs GT 100M in N81 series, HD5800 vs GTS 300M in G73 series... |

QUOTE(alucard1412 @ Apr 18 2011, 10:36 PM) shouldn't they just put up the latest one then? Why are old versions still there? Also...like for wireless, there're a few kinds example Azurewave NB037 Wireless Lan Driver and Application and Intel® WiFi Wireless LAN Driver. Which to choose? open up Device Manager and check which one u ve...Azurewave = Atheros... |

i suppose Asus is juz sourcing from different company... so that they will always ve stock...
especially now that Intel abolished the whole Centrino system, doesn't really matter which brand of adapter they use... they still work the same way... This post has been edited by astria: Apr 18 2011, 10:49 PM |

imho screen protector is the most important... a scratch on the monitor can really stand out and be a "pain" to the eyes since u'll be literally looking at it every moment...

QUOTE(nivlanauk @ Apr 20 2011, 03:51 PM) Actually why do you need a screen protector? It's not like you are using tablet pc where you'll be touching the screen all the time or put the screen against something it's more of a "juz in case" precautions...things usually get scratched at the least expecting moments... |

QUOTE(RedDevils88 @ Apr 20 2011, 07:05 PM) but the good way to install a new driver is to thoroughly uninstall the old driver to avoid conflict. that's why there is an option of "perform clean install". it thoroughly removes the old files from the old driver. no it doesn't... it merely removes the custom settings... there are still files left over...u'll need specialized programs like DriverSweeper if u want to perform a clean uninstall... |

QUOTE(thieflord @ Apr 20 2011, 08:24 PM) mmm, so wat should i do now? currently idling @ 40~50 with the nvidia gpu constantly on. i dont mind if im plugged in, but when im on battery it does give me a hard time.. make sure u ve a copy of the old driver, then download DriverSweeper, uninstall Forceware, run DriverSweeper in SAFE MODE, boot back and reinstall the latest Forcewareif the situation continues, then it's up to u to decide if u want to revert or not... |

QUOTE(RedDevils88 @ Apr 20 2011, 08:30 PM) hmmmm so we still need to use driver sweeper? that is such a long process.. i think i will revert back to the old 260.99.. long? it's 2mins at the most... it's long mainly cuz it will clean the C:\Nvidia folder as well, which is where all the driver packages are... juz untick that and it will need to only delete a handful of files and registry entries...i kept all the drivers that i had downloaded.. in cases like this Added on April 20, 2011, 8:32 pmany good MMORPG to introduce? |

well then, it's all in the mind...
i prefer to do the clean way since that can eliminate one potential problem should anything screw up and needs to be fixed... |
