when they change your decoder to beyond without activating the HD service, do they change your smart card and dish too?

I think the smartcard have to change but the dish was optional. The old dish can be used for the Byond but maybe signal quality might not be as good as the 65cm 'black dish'..

If they replace they replace the whole set,HD wl remain optional,.

just change the whole thing .. dish , cable , and decoder .. it is free if u upgrade to byond

and also my installer said the decoder is warranty for life time .. so got any issue with the decoder call astro to replace except ur decoder hit by lightning ...

For my case when I got mine installed during after the Byond launching, I didn't change the cable as it was concealed and my concealed cable was thick and high quality.

By the way, it was lifetime warranty because everything belong to Astro. If you terminate subscription, you have to return everything also. Your replacement set from warranty in future might be a reconditioned set from those being returned..

Damn. I use to be able to watch SkyNews HD but no longer.

No point whining to us, as all the Astro personnel that is stalking the board will only grin and call you a loser quietly. What you must do is call Astro customer service and whine to them.

its May already but any news about permanent new SD n HD channel...sigh..bill increase but service like shit....

It's not discontinued. Otherwise even Singapore and Hong Kong won't have the service.

Astro drop it from their lineup because of Supersport 3D.

Hmmm, I wonder how many people have 3D TV out there...

There are no channels of international standards on astro's platform except for Australian Network,mostly the rest are all asian fare, so SKY is not to astro's taste!

i am one of them watching 3D sports .. i hope astro can list out more HD channel espcially disney hd ... there is one stupid hd channel FX HD .. i wonder how many watching this stupid channel

It was only a preview channel that was intended for the coverage of the Royal Wedding from 25-29 April..

HyppTV, TM IPTV and DeTV has this channel. Maybe they're not on Astro because they refuse to bow to Asstro's monopoly demand.

Your priority is 3DTV, so you can afford. I still feel that 3DTV still too expensive. Plus because I already wear glasses I prefer autostereoscopic, but that kind of TV not available outside Japan yet.

Disney HD may come when Playhouse Disney Asia switch over to Disney Jr, which is supposedly HD.

As for FX HD... My dad love the channel before I cancel Astro. He's a big fan of Seinfeld and Frasier (yes, he is a die-hard fan of Cheers) - all on that channel...

Which is dumb. Singapore and Hong Kong PayTV all have that channel as part of their package.

Or because the channel carries significant pro-Malaysian opposition news that the government do not want Malaysians to know about..yes its on TM IPTV and DETV but how many households has those? N how many households that Astro are in? Astro is a political tool to BN and it is through Astro that the government poison the minds of Malaysians with pro-BN news and anti-opposition news all day long.. trust me, Channel News Asia can swing a few if not many votes in the oppositions favour if it was allowed airtime on Astro..my experience living in JB and watching this channel just shows how sick and twisted plus low class TV3 and RTM news channels are..

Another sad story of Astro not knowing what channel is in demand from their customers and whats the best channel out there..Astro are plain dumb..
