Hello all,

Maybe you guys get alot of these posts but imma nub here tongue.gif

anyways, eve online seems very interesting to me. However due to a busy work schedule I can only be a casual player should i decide to join this game. Naturally the next question is, how casual friendly is this game?

Also, are there many malaysians in this game? After playing WoW for 3 yrs with about 200 asians, i realized that a guild with ppl from my timezone is preferable.

I hope to hear from some experienced EVE gamers before i commit myself. Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard to the most complex MMO ever smile.gif EVE offers an open-ended gameplay, be it for a casual player or an addict. Not sure how you're gonna enjoy it after playing WoW for 3yrs, but i'll never touch that game with a 20 foot pole *grins*

As to how many Malaysians is playing it, not many to be quite frank...and don't get me wrong. There's a beauty behind playing a superb game like EVE without the majority players coming from Asia itself due to the general mentality we have within our gaming culture. And err...sadly we don't just go by the hundreads of people in a Corporation (or rather guild), it shoots up to thousands.

Hope ya enjoy the game as much as i do, and we'll soon cross path one day, in the vast space of New Eden smile.gif

its about as casual as u want it to b.. skills are time based so no "power-levelling" thingy. Login shoot a few rats, mine a few roids, go pvp, do some trading....ransom some poor nubs, steal some ores, basically theres no set path.

hard to describe more but get the 14day trial first login go to in game channel "kopitiam" n talk to us there. biggrin.gif

Heya Farkinid,

First a few blanket statements about Eve.

It's a capitalist game. Everything is about the money. Yes. Everything. If you don't log in you don't get money. Unless you're a passive data core research whore then i have nothing to say.

Second, you must be able to work alone. Space is a big place and if you're someone who MUST talk to people you better make sure you know who they are before you step into your POD(er... cockpit?).

Third
Watch the video's again and again and again. So sexy....drool*

You know what.. the fact that you guys who have been playing for a while are disagreeing on a basic principle of any game (whether you need to be online to earn) seems to suggest the depth of this game.

Ok i'm sold.

As for hack and slash, uh.... my original idea of an online game in a fantasy setting would be a bartender or something like that. I'm not a really combat orientated person. I prefer stealing, lying, cheating... you know the stuff i do for my job in real life tongue.gif

EDIT : Ok guys i've decided to call it a day and go home and start d/l the programme. Is there a faster way to acquire the client? I'd rather be d/l pron tongue.gif

The only way you can get the client is by downloading from the official website unless someone is willing to let you leech from their bandwidth smile.gif

Anyway, glad you're excited about it, but pls remember...not all ppl that tried EVE will like it. Simply because it's time based and no such thing as "power-lvling". You'll need to imagine how the game is, with a huge vast of space to being what you wanna be. Profession wise has so much diversity, unlike most MMO. If you've tried the actual AD&D with paper/pencil/dice roll, then you'll love the open-ended gameplay.

Start downloading most of the featured videos from EVE, 100% are all taken from ingame and the way it is presented will tell alot about the potential in such a game. Once you're done, go download videos made my players, it's in the forum under "Videos" section.

=p

I'm actually neutral and our standings are dependant on which alliance the corp i'm in is with. But I've crossed swords (er.. missiles and rails) with reikoku and the rest of bobians more tha ocne and they are the 1337 nastiness.

Getting raped by 4 stabbers is an evil thing. They played football with my drake =((.

There's sometimes too much to keep track of. I reccomendn focusing on a particular type of platying style early on.

cheers

I'm Liosa Rearl ingame anyways. We were with knights of the southern cross when we went up against you bunch. I'm with the Valour and after 3 weeks we left KoS because they had the leadership capabilities of dead frogs.

Addicus: The only good memories i have of KoS was when my corp The Valour managed to get top PVP corp within 7 days of joining KoS for the month and we're slated as an industrialist corp. in the first 3 days i had 10 kills and another 5 within the next 4.

Then the grinding war began. C3 was a horror logistics story. No materials, no manufacturing lines, nothing. We had to bring in everythign down the pipe from empire and that was being camped out by you evil bunch. After KoS lost a arrier at the c3 gate we(the valour) decided it was just a shit alliance and we left after a mere 3 weeks.

If anything i learned 1 thing, Gallente mothership are evil =((

Safe flying, boss wandered by....
