Carrol had scored, thunderous shot. I'm pretty sure the pressure pile up for Torres even more now.

yeap. we deffos need brana on the right, only he can take on nani/evra.

the only thing that worries me is our attacking department. we need at least one goal and looking at our recent performances, i dont think its going to come that easily.

what happens if we win 2-1? do we proceed because we got more away goals? or its considered a draw because more than 1-1 already?

chelsea will won by away goal rule because of scoring 2 goals away at OT.

with 7 games to go, total of the goals scored by Chelsea this season is 55. It reflect how poor have this team turn out to after an impressive 103 goals in 38 games last season in terms of attacking n finishing.

maybe lamps need more players to play the ball with before he can make the final pass. but i hope he ups his game tonight, his passes were horrible in the first leg. i hope bosingwa sits on the bench too. i think ferreira was awesome against wigan but i think brana would be the better choice since we still need to keep our defense tight. i think benny should start. his few awesome passes in the wigan game might be the key to unlock manu's defense.

We did control the midfield on the first leg, dont we? With current Carrick and Scholes, both of them really good in long range pass. valencia and nani hugging the touch line, I dont think controlling the midfield would be good enough. Just one pass by any of these two, we are doom.

We are too slow in passing the ball to get behind defenders.

Not too sure whether this is legit or not. Last time a similar shirt with only a bit difference was discredited by FSC. Looks ok though

maybe we should switch back to the robocop kit! laugh.gif

i dont think our midfield controlled very well the last game. manu had an extra man in midfield in rooney and that caused us problems distributing to the flanks/strikers.

United very deadly on both flank. Nani & Valencia really quick n strong to, stop the distribution to them n we will doing okay i suppose. Put Torres as a lone striker

Reporting into the new thread, keep up the good work in making this thread an active one!

The kit looks legit to me, good combo of colours as well. Not the first time we've used hoops (mostly on away/3rd) but def first time I see it on a home kit.

He should have scored. Out of all spaces and time that he got in this whole universe, he chose to put it straight to Habsi. I firmly believe he should have done better.

yeah i thought he should have used the inside of his foot to aim better instead of going for it fast with the outer part of his foot. the rest of the lads seems to be publicly supporting him though.

one more think thic home kit white color on the shoulder part are more suitable for white BPL badge...rather then gold!

hope torres break his goal duck tonite!...

Reporting in new thread!

Kinda expected this line-up. Drogba might be on form now, but he's not scoring a lot of goals also, that puts him about the same level as Torres, since both also playing well but no goals.

Oh, defeat. There goes our dream.

I still believe we can do something next season. On Torres, we signed him for 5 years, not 1. 4 more seasons to go. He can do something when Drogba retire.

Another poor performance from our midfield. Totally out shaped. We have to reconstruct our midfield. Essien and Lampard were sooo poor. Unlucky for Ramires though. Our sloppy defense left too much work for him to do.

Next season, we have to bring on some youngster. Josh on for Lampard. Mikel on for Essien. The problem is on left wing. I feel sorry for Roman though. The players owe him the trophy.

Deserve defeat, even we escape this round, we can't beat Barca with this kind of level. Yes, I'm disappointed , but I am trying to make me feel better.

Next season guys. See you.I love football, how magical is this sport. smile.gif

dont blame it on Torres, we already started playing really badly even before Torres arrived. the manager had a full squad to select, what they did in training, we dont know.

okay, this i really need to saz, the person who needed to be drop will be carlo. the game to me its a win, just that the way he want to play and the way he sub, can tell you that there is no more point of playing... for god sake ferreira, who not yuri that can attack and defence...

at start have saz that the referee will spoilt the game and it have. subbing a player who dont want to play with a even worst player. tell me what kalou did in the whole game... even josh play better then that senior player...

so at the end, i would like to see carlo go... and some players that have no heart in the team anymore. at the end, look at some of the players that think, not possible anymore to win the game with 1 man down, looking at their faces tells it all. this team will never win anything for sometime, believe it.

so how bout last season? so what, 1 season win and need to continue doing so, even dont win, but win doing the best, it's all that matters. this season i dont think it's a injury issues, just that carlo dont know how to play other players. look at liverpool, arsenal and mu... their youth player have atleast better mature then ours.

on torres, dont think he spoilt anything on the team in attacking wise. carlo should have just play him full or dont play him at all. he is just putting torres ass and his ass on the line for doing so. just carlo dont have the balls to do so.

this is just pure frustration seeing the team doing it so badly, it hurt so much looking that the players no longer believe in anything then just want for the next season and see how will come in and see how it.

We didn't have a stable formation. Always had to change to suit Torres and change back again. And Torres didnt play so well since its arrival, he doesn't have the precise first touch of the ball, very important for strikers.

Besides, the ref was fine today. Not biased. Both sides were punished accordingly. Unless, you think all of those cards weren't justified?

As much as Ancelotti likes to say it, i doubt he has a 100% say in his team selection. I mean you dont invest that much without sticking a few fingers in. Guess how happy United fans were when we saw the Spanish pansy on the teamsheet instead of Drogba??

Very.

I could agree with Terry's yellow. But he should be carded when he took Nani down, no? Or how Lampard should be as well for pulling Rooney back? On Ramires, it was rightly justified. Taking people down from behind normally warrants you a yellow.

lampard, its a yellow to my point, just lucky to escape it. so do some of essien "bull approach"... anyway, its over and this didnt really kill the game, at least we came back by 1 goal, just that the whole team didnt concentrate on that...

ramires tackled nani's left leg, he did touch him...from behind lagi...terry one sometimes given sometimes not, his elbow was high, raised it when hernandez was coming towards him, plus hernandez is allowed to fight for the ball same as terry...oso my observation la smile.gif

frankly speaking both team would have gotten more yellows and to a certain pt reds if its a league game....hacking ppl from behind is a sure shot of killing yourself with English refs....the portugese handled quite fairly with yellows and the red since it was a 2nd bookable offence.

CA is just wrong to not start Drogba.... Drogba is the focal point for Chelsea.... Me as a manutd fan is sooo glad to see Torres starts instead of Drogba...

I'm feeling Drogba might leave this Summer....

terry just stood there and was hernadez crash on him, look at his face expression and can tell. as for ramirez, barely touch nani, and nani did make look, ah you know what i mean... this is my seeing, and up to you to go againts it, just my obsevation...

Then you are obviously double standard.
Did Fergie blame the referee? He only comment on the referee performance ... Did he said 'we lost because of referee?'

Hope that Chelsea will back on form for next season.

When they come to Malaysia in July, I will go and cheer for them.

be patient fellow blues, this season might be over for us. but before next season begins, there will be changes, and there also will be improvements.

who knows, Torres might come good, or Danny might step up.

sadly Lamps is no longer his former self. I wonder if he can regain his old form in the coming games and also next season. when his time comes, i hope he knows when to step down or the manager has the balls to bench him.

Sissy? Then you're a wuss. Feck off, I'm here to discuss politely.
I could agree with Terry's yellow. But he should be carded when he took Nani down, no? Or how Lampard should be as well for pulling Rooney back? On Ramires, it was rightly justified. Taking people down from behind normally warrants you a yellow.
*
You are wrong if you were to say "Taking people down from behind normally warrants you a yellow". There is no grey area. Now having said that the Portuguese referee, per the rule book, was absoutely correct in his call by sending Ramires off for his second yellow regardless of Nani's nationality or his proclivity for making a meal of it.

I hope you remember that when I point out that a yellow should at least be given for the same circumstances regardless of the colour of the shirt or the nationality of the player. We cannot be selective or biased.

Fair?

Now Chelsea fans will say that I'm bashing Chelsea because I favor the referee booking Ramires for his behind foul on Nani.
Actually I was rooting for the best team to win and the better team IMO didn't win. If others disagree I suggest lets agree to disagree.

Suffice to say Ramires over 2 LEGS showed me he is a bona fide Top WC player. He was just UNLUCKY over both LEGS (including tripping Nani's proffered). A lesson to be l;earned by opponents once they sussed up on him. Carragher did he or not? Will Terry after being suckered by Chicharito?

U know he falls down easily, you tackle cleanly. If you make a stupid tackle and just baaaam, you're risking it. More often than not that's what oppositions teams do they just whack.

Talking about players who goes down easily, i really lol when drogba goes down at the slightest of touch, here's a guy 90+ kilos bullying the crap out of defenders when he wants to u and when he enters the box and you blow wind at him he collapses like a deck of cards.

The Park's goal is because Ramires not there to track his run. But I still feel Kalou should had followed him. Kalou come onto field but still I don't think any of us felt his presence.

so that's it for our trophy hunt this season eh? the players were only slightly better than last week, and its hard to argue that the better team didn't progress. i feel so sorry for ramires though. my candidate alongside cech for our player of the season, and he deserved to finish the game. it was an unfortunate sending off, as i noticed he lost his balance and slipped into nani who made the most of it. his enthusiasm in closing the portugese down actually lead to his demise, but it was accidental and there was no lunge whatsoever. like i said we don't get the calls in this competition, and that's why we must work doubly hard.

to put the overall result down to that single decision though, would be foolish. let's face it guys, we simply weren't good enough. utd didn't even have to move off 3rd gear to finish the tie and that says it all really. we only threatened in spurts, and never got a grip of the game. u thought when didier slotted that one in neatly, the boys would start to rally. in the end we committed two of the biggest sins in football, i.e : conceding just before the break, and right after scoring a goal. talk about a lack of concentration. to be fair we were down to 10 men, but its not like the players weren't experienced enough to know better, and keep their heads in the game right after the kick-off.

again, our supposed 'stalwarts' looked lost for most of the 90 mins. lampard and malouda totally disappeared in the second half, and nico was a total passenger after those off-target shots. still can't believe how he just let giggs run away from him for that first goal.

if only lampard put his foot through the ball, when malouda actually did something useful in the first half. ramires was full of running as usual, and essien redeemed himself a little with a solid performance. notice how when we actually got decent service to one of our strikers, we actually scored a goal? all that thanks to the bison. apart from that instance we were always busy lumping it forward to drogba, and it was embarassing to watch. just compare that to utd's quick but measured approach, and you'll see how their players are miles ahead in terms of teamwork and most notably, confidence.

no complaints on ashley, our captain and brana. they showed a lot of heart together with didier and rami. should didier have started the game? probably. should torres have stayed on instead of nico? definitely. i'm struggling to find positives but at least we scored a goal and i'm thankful we weren't facing barca, because they would have humiliated us.

roman did not look happy though....he didn't look happy at all. this spells trouble for carlo's future, but i hope he gets rid of some of the 'clearly past-it' oldies before deciding on ancelotti's immediate future. at the moment it looks bleak, to say the least. keep the flue flag flying high and let's secure that automatic champs league spot! smile.gif

I don't know why is people blaming Carlo for the defeat.
He tried his best. It's our players problem. We're lack of creative spark, some electric energy from the midfield.

I am putting high hope on next match.
----Torres-Drogba------
Benayoun-Essien-Ramires
-----------Josh-------------
Cole-Terry-Luiz-Iva
Cech

I am giving Torres another chance. I would drop lampard and Josh as a holding midfield. I believe that he's a good playmarker that can create some spark from the midfield.

Essien to play in attacking role, he's better in final through ball that give striker a lot of space. This might works perfectly with Torres. Who knows that's how to make Torres score?

Benayoun and Ramires should be great in both sides. If Ramires is tired, Benayoun on right and malouda on left. Malouda is catching on form. But no no to drop ramires because of his red card, that will drop his confidence.

Oh yeah, our finishing is a huge problem. Carlo have to address them. In my opinion, the main reason that they can't finish those chances is the players are lack of concentration. When it comes to great chances, the players just simply kick the ball. Disgusting finishing.

Even though we can't get any trophy this season, but play a good game. Pay the fans and Roman something that we're the best.

love this. we aren't bunch of sore losers. keep our head high and continue our endless support to the club.

with relatively easy games left in Premier League, just play beautiful football please. Put Josh+Mikel in there. Bench Lampard, Nico, Malouda. They need a rest. especially Lamps. I knew he want to play all games week in week out. but face it, his body can't take it anymore occasionally.

last but not least, i give my personal tribute to Ashley. wutever happens in or outside the field. this lad alway show he's such good footballer. never had a bad game.

yeap. Ashley Cole is one of the players that performs consistently. even right after an injury he is still the best left back in the club. but i think we're performing badly as a team, which affects Ashley's performance in the attacking side of the field. its been very rare that i see him put any good crosses in. but regardless, our midfield was poor. very very poor. we used to host a good list of CMs in Bally Deco Lampard and Essien. all of them were very creative last season, but i cannot say the same for this season.

well, we still have some games in the premier league left to play for and i hope with the pressure of winning the champions league gone, i hope the lads will start playing better again.

automatic qualification. the least we should achieve.

If Carlo stays (of which I hope he does), he must realise that the team may not some rebuilding for next season. Some of the 'stalwarts' need to go while some need to be 'prepared' for not expecting to play every game anymore. Torres is definitely one for the future, he is at the age whereby his powers will be at its' peak in 1 or 2 years time. Ramires and David Luiz are going to massive from now onwards, so it's time to see which of the older players should be let go by summer this year.

Plus point is that Man Utd will also need to rebuild soon, VDS, Giggs and Scholes, Ferdinand will definitely retire or not play that often next season, and you can't replace class players like that in a flash. Thus, if RA supports CA, I don't see any reason why we will not come back stronger next season.

If we blame Carlo, let's say it in a different way.
We're now saying "Starting Torres is a mistake"
Why not we say, "Not starting Drogba along with Torres is a mistake?"

I see some power behind drogba and torres combo. I want Drogba Torres combo this week!

QUOTE(aw13 @ Apr 13 2011, 04:19 PM)

*
this is one of, if not the most important fact that carlo needs to explain to certain players. he must be brave and realise the relentless pace of the epl simply does not allow players of a certain 'age' to thrive for an extended period of time. club legend or not, it has to be done for the good of the team and they can't say carlo didn't give them a fair shot this season. in fact, he's given them too much of a fair shot imho.

that look on roman's face though has me worried. u just never know what his plans are, but hopefully he'll notice the significant difference between how our youth team played vs utd's youth only a few days ago, and how our senior team performed against theirs. he witnessed both games, and the logic is he'll surely see a lot of factors which influence the quality of play on the field, among them being pace, skill, age, creativity and enthusiasm. not saying our current senior squad possess none of those qualities, but they sure are lacking in several departments.

just like Mu rebuild during our back-to-back champion..we already done the same...a few more signing and sell out will give chelsea new look...lampard should try to play deeper...kakuta or new signing must play in advance role...

Actually there were not much rebuilding during those times.. It's just that Ronaldo is starting to hit his godlike mode. It's only a sesaon after that that Nani and Anderson was bought, well lucky them.. first season got the EPL+ UCL

*
to be frank, why you so bother others with your opinion bout who the better team ??? does that impact anything ?

did UEFA gonna award back the win back to the better team that in your opinion ?

i dont want to touch the touchy subjects like red card and all but dropping drogba to bench was a huge mistake le. drogba gave so much trouble to evra in the first leg and also shown in the second half why dont use him is baffling. i felt CA was forced to use Torres cos of the price tag ..

But we could never know if Drogba would had been better had he started. He only played well in this game to prove that CA made the wrong decision to bench him. But still, I prefer Drogba's more direct approach to the game, he shoots when he wants instead of taking extra touches ala Torres. Torres needs to learn from Drog about selfishness

Berbatov scored 2 goals within a month after joining United. He averaged one goal in every 3 appearances in his debut season at United.
Torres on the other hand has 0 goal in 11 appearances so far.

If we blame Carlo, let's say it in a different way.
We're now saying "Starting Torres is a mistake"
Why not we say, "Not starting Drogba along with Torres is a mistake?"

I see some power behind drogba and torres combo. I want Drogba Torres combo this week!
*
i thought they both so far can't perform together thats why Chelsea deploy a lone striker? and torres definitely starts ahead of Drogba for his price tag/ roman wish. And nobody play 4-4-2 in champions league nowadays anymore.

simple

barba need time to adapt = torres need time to adapt....you all always looking to make simple things complicated...

no1 is saying that torres will not adapt...boxy just said that torres is not in form, but ca still starts him which I assume he meant due to abra's pressure, eventho ca is the one choosing who to start..and how is that related to berba? doh.gif

LOL. Why so butthurt one? I posted something that is true what? Clearly, Torres costed Chelsea a bomb and Ancelotti shown no hands but to play him. Remember a certain Andriy Shevchenko? Or Hernan Crespo? Meh, two can play the game. The difference between Ancelotti and SAF, the latter is not forced to play Berbatov.

No one saying that Torres didn't need time to adapt.

Added on April 13, 2011, 8:32 pmBesides, Torres and Berbatov are very much different.

cuz I love Chelsea...and I really sensitive about our players..but why u all so offensive..? costed Chelsea?..but in long term? you cant be sure...he still got 4 years left....

SAF play Barba even after Barba missed tonnes of chances....to justified the price tag...same with Carlo...

any evidence Roman force Carlo to play Torres??? nope just media....

Between the two, Berbatov is the better dribbler. Torres is faster, no doubt. Tonne of chances? Try having 3 big names and one in form winger cum forward. Tevez, Rooney, Berbatov and Ronaldo. Headache on selection, for sure. Last season, Berba ain't doing too bad. Unlike Torres, which is the main striker, Berbatov is more like a support striker. I've said, differences between the two are vast.

agreed...no doubt about it...yes tonnes of chances...imagine Barba able to get games between those big names...it must be because of his price tag and talent...the same with our situation now...Torres is amazing...we all saw what he capable of..but should we bench him?? nope..he need to rediscover form..that is why he start the game against MU...and that is a poor decision by Carlo..not because of Torres...but leaving Drogba at the bench..

haih MU MU, dah menang datang, kalah datang (kata f**k ref) apa nak jadi lah hahahaha

btw : confirm either ferreira or bos will leave next season, arnesen said van Der Wiel as their no.1 target

CA will stay, sacking him will be a bigger problem as we MUST met uefa regulations of 'financial fair play regulation' (must come close to breaking even interms of financial...if sack sure rugi many millions there)

essien oso very bad la ..aiyo injuries really catching him up now.

You are right we will never know. The fact is that Drogba scored the only Chelsea goal. IMO The turning point for Chelsea was Ramires non penalty call (albeit referee may not have seen it). Will Evra be sent off then if so? Those are the critical facts. Of course we can dispute about this till all the chickens come home to roost and still never agree. Its foolish or crazy to argue otherwise as some suggest. But then there's opinions and then there's facts.

1 HUGE mistake made by ROMAN still causing us till date!.....sacking of JOSE MOURINHO.....i saw a passion between coach and players during his ERA...even-though we played bored football...we gain 3 pts somehow....but now..no matter how hard we tried, 20 shots on target...only 1 goal or sometimes NO goal at all!....why? where is the mistake? ask yourself MR.ROMAN...you wanted an instant success? my ASS....you see your counterpart MR. FERGUSON in united for 2 decades ++...still going strong...so we need a coach that can last longer, built a solid relationships between fans, coach, players, to greater heights!...not changing coaches every failure years!......so the ONLY way chelsea can back to basics..are by bringing JOSE...fixed the past mistakes you did roman!....or i would say this straight to your face...just sell off chelsea...cuz if u continue to change coaches...FOREVER you wont let CHELSEA FC to win the Champions League...! doh.gif vmad.gif mad.gif

Hmm... Did Chelsea not deploy in Torres' favoured single striker formation? What exactly is the problem, I recall him making an impact almost immediately after making his debut for us. It was clear that his heart was no longer with us, which would have explained his lack of form and effort since the tail end of last season. But for one who apparently got all he wanted, his performance seems somewhat muted.

What gives?

Yup, i remember the day he brush off Ben Haim and slotted home a debut goal. I can't give any reason on why he still not scoring for us now. The answer lying in him self. But i can see clearly that his body language somehow told me that he quite uncomfortable at the moment while playing. Maybe the formation he still adapting, the price tag pressure, expectation from the fans, media & the Boss. I can't tell really..

But i do believe, once he break his duck. one or two goals. Then you'll see the old Torres again. It sounds cliche isn't it? I just assume that all the jeers, insult towards him is come from the heart full of enviousness for they do not have one of the best striker in the world.

Nice article.
IMO, who need to go:
Anelka
Ferreira/Bosingwa(Or both if we buy another right back)
Malouda/Zhirkov(Or both if we manage to buy another left wing)

Who need to be start sitting on the bench:
Lampard
Drogba

That's so harsh on Lampard and Drogba. But aging problem is catching on them. Although Terry is old, but we need him as he has a big influence in our team.

I agreed., we need to sell a few older player.

Bosingwa should go, he cant defend. why must Ferreira go? he is a decent backup, loyal, and never complaint.Sell Anelka and Malouda. they are in theirs 30s and not consistent enough. they great player, but often let us down when we need it.

Lampard, Drogba, and Terry should stay. but they cannot play 2-3 games per week anymore. lampard and Drogba can still come on as a sub and make an impact.

We need blend in our youth player, we got great talents McEachran, Sturridge, Borini, Van Aanholt, and Kakuta. And finally get some creative attacking midfielder with flair and great vision please (this is the reason we lose again Man Utd - Giggs's creativity and attacking vision).

Thank you and KTBFFH!

i think this season we're having a bit of a problem with players struggling to regain form and 'prove' themselves. as i recall, alonso, kuyt, and gerrard always looked for their main man fernando, and most of the passes were along the ground, into his feet. This works best when he makes those darting runs imho.

Our current midfield is still stuck with the ‘drogba is our main centreforward’ syndrome, resulting in endless hoofed long balls upfield, regardless of whether the Ivorian is playing or not. We expect torres to shield the ball, bully defenders and bring other midfielders into play. Everyone knows this isn’t part of his natural game. Now if he managed to do the latter part and bring lampsy/malouda into play, here’s the other problem: both have been stuck in a horrendous run of form for a good number of months now, long before our new no.9 arrived. So there goes the supply line.

It doesn’t help either that lampard and malouda aren’t exactly the most selfless of players this season. Deep at the back of his mind, I feel our vice captain is concerned about his lack of goals, resulting in a lot more shots from outside the area which either balloon into the stands, or tamely bounce wide. The same too, can be said about malouda.

Partnered with kalou/anelka he faired a little better, although ideally like you said he needs to be the main striker in any formation. However this requires an adequate ‘supporting cast’ which we’ve been severely lacking. Nico and especially kalou are frequent examples of inconsistency in these parts. I don’t think didier is willing to drop himself down a notch and accept his role as a ‘feeder’ to torres, after being top drog for so long. The result is both of them jostling for the same position when played together, and refusing to drop deep. It can still work, but one of them has to play with his head up a little bit more and constantly look for his strike partner. Unfortunately, this hasn’t happened much when ancelotti tried to work and build on that understanding.

hence, we have a striker now being starved off
service and whose confidence is becoming increasingly fragile. Chelsea were poor before torres came, just as they are now. Once we address the midfield problem I’m sure he’ll be just fine. But until then he’ll just have to keep working hard and maintain his level of commitment (which has been outstanding btw). He’s had some chances to get one in, that’s undeniable. But to be fair they’ve been few and far between as we simply haven’t created enough for the poor lad.

well said kerpy... those are the things I always said to my kop indulging mates... the most annoying remarks "thanks for buying torres from us" "caroll/suarez is better than nandos" blah blah blah the list goes on... I still put on high hopes that torres will be blues main man in the years to come, provided that we have enough supply chain to feed him from the middle...

i wonder what will they say when Torres starts banging in goals next season? rolleyes.gif

i still think he is a top striker and given the right midfield players to support him, i believe he can score goals. besides, he is still young compared to Sheva who at that time was already 30, 30+?

i think Benny definitely knows what kinda of supply Torres wants and I think they should be playing a full 90 minutes together, who knows Torres might get more chances and eventually score. we can only hope for the best, its up to Torres to shut the doubters up nod.gif

Only 3 players actually can provide ground passes to Torres in our squad now. Zhirkov, Benny and Drogba.

A few games ago when Zhirkov started, I remember he keep giving these kind of balls to Drogba and Cole. I think it was the game after Man Utd league game.

In our game against Copenhagen 2nd leg, Drogba provided nice balls after nice balls for Anelka, but Anelka keeps taking extra touches here and there, thats why it ended 0-0.

And big price tags can unsettle a player easily. Take Man Utd's own Berbatov, 30 million pounds, he took quite some time to settle eh?

Real Madrid's Kaka? David Villa took a few months to start playing well for Barca this season I think.

True, Torres need those ground through ball, but you forgot Essien and Josh?!

I remember more through ball from Essien than Lampard. I can't recall back when's the last time since Lampard give a through ball.

Well, Josh might not proven yet, but I believe he can deliver those kind of pass too. Give Josh some play time Carlo!

All we have to do is be patient and ignore the trolls. If we believe Torres is the striker we think he is, lets just continue to support him.

unlike a majority of other club fans who bashed their player today and hail him tomorrow. what a joke.

Let not blame all the fault to the midfield, after all the game TORRES play clearly he have sufficient supply to score, but at the moment he himself are low in confidence and lack of luck.

I am not worried at all, as long as he is having a good game and help the team win those goal will come someday. What worries me is that for the pass season we rely greatly on goal from LAMPARD and DROGBA. They are aging and once in a while they will have bad games, so we need other player to step up and chip in the goal.

Even CA seem cannot seem decide on his first team striker yet. Those rotation and substitution does not do great player confidence too. I will take another trophyless season as long as CA dare to play those promising youngster we have.

Hi all, after seeing Liverpool away kit, found it is pretty cool, I wonder where's our new away kit? Looking forward for it.

Oh yeah, regarding on our home kit, look at the strips. It has 10 and a little bit more. Is it represent we need to pay 100% and even more on our performance?
Just some of my observation though tongue.gif

Yup VDV definitely bargain of the season.

Whether TORRES is a 50m flop or not is yet to know but the true fact is CHELSEA have 50m to spend on a striker and those troll are just envy, jealous and turn to hate. No club will no want TORRES in their club.

Money aside, the most important is we have an owner that really like football and love the club. So flop or not is his money and rival stop butthurting.

The worse kind is those LIVERPOOL fans that praying day and night that TORRES will flop after leaving them. They forgot quickly the goal that TORRES score for them and how they adore him as hero in the past. He leave for his own career and ambition and leave behind 50m transfer kitty for them to spend. They didnt realize that their club are playing in europa league which are just not good enough for a player like TORRES status.

Since Carroll and Suarez did score for Liverpool already, ,if they believe they have the rights to insult Torres, then so be it.

After all, the more we talk bad about these people ,the more other clubs will think we are merely finding excuses to defend Torres.

I believe Torres will score sooner rather than later, until then I suppose we can let these people insult Torres all they want since it won't affect us anyway

To be honest, there isn't any world class right back now in England. Last season Ivanovic was named as best right back despite his natural pos being central defense.

I suppose for now we should give our support to Bosingwa. After all he's still a Chelsea player. I love Bosingwa's runs with or without the ball, I just don't like his final balls and occasional mistake in defense.

i still hope bosingwa can do better when he plays but unfortunately his performance is terrible. i like his crosses but defense should still be priority. i think if brana was slightly less muscular, maybe he would have been a good right back tongue.gif

For those with short memory, there was a period when we didn't have a decent RB besides Ferreira. Essien, etc had to have a go at that position from time to time. With Bos and Iva around, these are options to CA, i.e. attacking fullback v normal defensive fullback.

A host of other names were also brandied about by the press, incl Malouda, Didi and Kalou. I'm pretty sure we will sell some of the older players like we did last summer when we offloaded Deco, Ballack and Belletti.

Chelsea didn't need to change manager. What they really need is change midfielder and winger. Lampard not so creative as usual. Need to put on bench to give chance for Benayoun or McEachran to play.

*
As per discussed, Ramires is a quality player especially his hilite goal against City. If Evra has not sandbagged him that would also have been another hi-lite goal. The non-penalty call is a travesty of justice but then c'est la vie. To say United is better than Chelsea over the 2 legs is to malign the blues. United seems to be always getting the rub of the green recalling Terry slipping in the PKs. Going into OT 1-1 would have been fair. Even with 10 men Chelsea still score and if the aggregate was 2-2 would you think Sung would have been left unmarked to score? Chelsea would have parked the bus or played with a different mindset probably going for PKs. No? Hence thats why I would concur with your analysis about the better team didn't win or the 'better' team won.
Now regarding Torres, the jury is still out. Mind you I think the exciting midfield combo for Torres would be Ramires, Essien, Lampard and the returning Benny from his achilles injury. We still have Malouda & Kalou to provide the width allowing Carl to have the luxury of different horses for different courses. Yes Drog needs to be an 'elder stateman'. Perhaps another striker neymar? Chelsea shouldn't fret. and MU shouldn't bragged.
Enuff said else we will have mu trolls coming here en masse.

yes..torres and drogba..can they really play together?..our current players look drogba as the main man..torres should try to assist drogba first to gain respect of the clan..hehehhe...

next season i prefer more promotion of the last year youth into the 1st team with one only major signing...a winger/striker...we got the best youth team last season... rclxm9.gif

QUOTE(BluePLAN @ Apr 15 2011, 02:22 AM)
Enuff said else we will have mu trolls coming here en masse.

i loved to see david as RB...then place iva & alex as central defender...terry seems to starting to past his peak...esspecially against speedy opponent player...so the chances of him making silly fouls are very high!
speaking of Luiz & silly fouls, i hope Luiz can cope against Odemwingie this weekend. He looks a bit sluggish when facing a quick turn striker. We have see how he commit silly fouls againt Rooney n struggle against Rodallega n Stoke's striker.

I want Drogba to get a start, CA should keep his head cool instead of be influenced by the media. The Drogs in on fire now!

considering the impending uefa rules, i think it would actually be music to our reserve/youth squads' ears. i'm sure chelsea have taken measures to deal with the new guidelines, and i foresee the likes of kakuta, PVA, josh and hopefully borini all being part of that. if that's the only way they can force their way into the first team, so be it!

Yap and building a squad around Torres with current youth is the best choice for next season...i found a great article regarding our No.9...

Alex and Ramires out for West Brom. We will most likely to see Benayoun to start! So excited.

Torres-Drogba
Zhirkov-Essien-Benayoun
---------Josh----------
Cole-Terry-Luiz-Iva
Cech

I hope this will be the line up, I am looking forward for this match.
Keep the blue flag flying high!

when carlo mention thinking of the next season, he should have put the youngster to play... although most of them are loan out, but still there are still some that can participate...

but then even those we see can play better, then the normal 11, still they do not have the chance to do so, so just too bad, what we think and say, still go back to the same old squad...

Drogbaaaa.
Three goals from Chelsea, one goal from Didier, One assist from him, another build up pass from him.
See how much he influence the team.
Lampard looks tired and not doing much. I feel his only job is to late run into the box and try to score. He should participate more in our build up.

Not a bad performance but I know we can do better! smile.gif

I felt that was an onside. (Liverpool fan here, was watching the game)

Nice to see the team trying to help Torres.

But I had to admit after West Brom's first goal it was just a matter of time before Chelsea would win the game.

Because we knew how it was back then under Roy Hodson. and we knew that Roy Hodson would just sit back holding out on that 1-0, playing defensively and inviting more attacks.

Good game, for Chelsea!

No one will actually argue with this. I got really excited when I see Torres "scored" plus my stream's commentator shouted like Torres really score. but who knows, offside. yawn.gif
Drogba looked really sharp, fully recover from malaria already I think? smile.gif
I really want Torres to play along with Drogba. Kalou wasted so many chances but the delivery from midfield/drogba are not bad today.
Oh yeah, our finishing still have to be improve. Luckily West Brom's keeper wasn't on god mode today.

kalou malouda dah boleh jual sebenarnya..mikel tu bagi chance la 1-2 season lagi. first half of the season dia banyak main and really contributed to the team

tho i dont expect much new faces, (need to jaga2 with budget as in UEFA rules)... pls do sign few midfielders. these are no more duff-robben or swp cutting in to the inside.

ganso (brazil) is really a quality player manggg

hands up those who groaned and felt a bit queasy looking at the starting line up today??? laugh.gif

a poor goal conceded, but we showed composure to get back into the game, thanks in part to some mistakes by west brom. quite hard to believe this is the side that humbled liverpool. passing was a bit better from midfield, and out of those three i think mikel had a very2 good game. if drogba put away that fantastic ball over the top he provided, i'm sure we would be praising him a lot more.

lampard scored a trademark goal after good work from flomo on the break. if only he did that against utd eh? drogba MOTM with his involvement in all 3 goals, and that thunderous finish brought us back into the game in a big way. can't imagine what would've happened if we went to half-time, trailing by a goal. kalou's slick finish also deserves a lot of credit, as he arrowed it into the bottom corner with his weaker foot! the skinnier of our two ivorians though was guilty of being invisible in the second half.

malouda had some fantastic crosses, some poor ones and he had an 'okay' game. i'm going to wait until the next game before deciding if his form is improving. lampard looked slightly better and took his goal well. however i don't like how he practically disappeared in the second fourty-five. cole and brana were marauding down the flanks and our serbian in particular provided some delightful crosses into west brom's box. luiz and JT had an average game, but conceded a rather sloppy goal early on.

my sole complaint is how we cut through west brom's defense several times in the second half, but couldn't increase our goal tally. commentator stating we just didn't have that cutting edge in our play to really punish west brom. considering our midweek exertions with 10 men against utd, i guess we should be thankful for the 3 points. job done, and no new injury worries. good job chelsea smile.gif

hahaha i think that about sums it up. but the offside call was extremely harsh though. 50-50. good ball from malouda, who finally seems to be trying to accommodate fernando now. so that's one 'goal,' and another which was chalked off vs utd. so he has scored actually! tongue.gif

There's no better place to watch it than Santiago Bernabeu itself!

Seriously, you might have better outcome by trying your luck at RM thread or Barca thread. Well, maybe it's the Mourinho connection that leads you here.

lampard scored a trademark goal after good work from flomo on the break. if only he did that against utd eh? drogba MOTM with his involvement in all 3 goals, and that thunderous finish brought us back into the game in a big way. can't imagine what would've happened if we went to half-time, trailing by a goal. kalou's slick finish also deserves a lot of credit, as he arrowed it into the bottom corner with his weaker foot! the skinnier of our two ivorians though was guilty of being invisible in the second half.

malouda had some fantastic crosses, some poor ones and he had an 'okay' game. i'm going to wait until the next game before deciding if his form is improving. lampard looked slightly better and took his goal well. however i don't like how he practically disappeared in the second fourty-five. cole and brana were marauding down the flanks and our serbian in particular provided some delightful crosses into west brom's box. luiz and JT had an average game, but conceded a rather sloppy goal early on.

my sole complaint is how we cut through west brom's defense several times in the second half, but couldn't increase our goal tally. commentator stating we just didn't have that cutting edge in our play to really punish west brom. considering our midweek exertions with 10 men against utd, i guess we should be thankful for the 3 points. job done, and no new injury worries. good job chelsea  smile.gif
hahaha i think that about sums it up. but the offside call was extremely harsh though. 50-50. good ball from malouda, who finally seems to be trying to accommodate fernando now. so that's one 'goal,' and another which was chalked off vs utd. so he has scored actually!  tongue.gif
*
still think today we got lucky winning with the 2 goals that was play badly by WBA. dont get me wrong, i dont think the lads will lose, but then it seems that it just take the pressure off them and also for the future game, as nothing else to play for. CL standing is already confirm, just which standing...

lol, I remember this scene.

JT was telling Torres to run around and outside during a free kick to receive the pass, too bad he miskicked tongue.gif

Quite annoying to see everyone wants Torres to score now, make us not playing naturally when he comes in.

This time around CA's subs is right one.

Bos in because he felt he didn't need a defensive fullback after looking a Cole.
Benny in for Lampard should be done most of the games, Lampard did well but somehow vanished a bit in 2nd half.
Drogba out for Torres because he starting to be lazy in last 30 minutes.

If that Drogba's fierce shot from left wing went in, I bet Torres wouldn't had come in so that Drog could get his hat-trick.

Great comeback by the lads. Just woke up, check livescore and Citeh 1 MU 0. Really made my day. *wink* ala balotelli aka ronaldo.

back to the game analysis, i think the goal conceded is pure defensive misunderstanding. Luiz n JT kinda static, but thank god they gear up this time.

I agree Drogba is the MOTM, it's the classic performance from him. Great body strength, helping defense, provide some excellent cross n crucial finishing.

I think Kalou doing pretty average, despite the goal. He had quite a number of chance but to no avail. His dribbling also poor. But kudos to the awesome finish.

2nd half bit, after Bosingwa came in. I think West Brom started to control our right side n seems dangerous.

Mikel n Essien have a good game.

Torres. hmm. I don't have to waiting any longer if that linesmen call it right.

looks like second place is still possible then!

anyway, i still find it odd we had so much space vs west brom, especially down the flanks. hodgson is well known as a defensive minded manager, so he definitely wouldn't allow that. mikel was doing a fantastic job spreading play out wide, and i'm just wondering was the space due to west brom's abysmal marking, or was it mikel's constant quick passes which gave them that extra room to work in. whatever it is, i'd like to see obi doing more of the same vs birm next. but where does that leave ramires... hmm.gif

Man u and arsenal still need to face each other and draw is the best result we can get between them. So hope man u and arsenal keep dropping points for their remaining games and chelsea can win them all. But like u all said, we need a miracle and a big luck for this to happen.

Considering our slump before n after christmas, i'll be happy if we just can cement a UCL place. May next season will be different chapter. THB, it's an agony for every Blues to see a 50mils rated striker desperately feed by his team for a solitary goal he crave for.

as long as the lads continue their previous game's form. im satisfied. 2nd or 3rd makes no difference to me. no one remembers who got 2nd and who got third. people only remember champions.

hopefully Torres can find his form in the remaining games or in the next season. we need his goals. if we'd want to win domestic and european honours.

no doubt baines has provided the everton strikers with some sweet curling crosses, but Cole is still the most consistent left back in the premier league. rarely has a bad game, very solid when defending, but still never provided enough in attack. should definitely get plaayer of the year if he could put in some nice crosses.

last season should count as his personal best. but, as mentioned he ain't doing average either this season. Truth is, no better left back in Premier League as outstanding/ consistent than our only Cole. Baines was impressive when play against in last two encounter, but defensively he's not so reliable for my liking.

yes...malouda for me no longer capable to perform just like last season...temporary off form? maybe...but..we need consistency..and the young player pushing for his spot...Lampard..no longer the same...but i believe he still got years at Chelsea. maybe limit him to epl game only next season...

world class paymaker will const about the same amount as torres...so i prefer to use mceachran...and Kakuta...both playmaker...one deep playmaker and winger playmaker... rclxms.gif we need a striker if borini and anelka leave....

Anyway i dont think we need to sign anyone coming transfer window unless we sell someone and need a replacement. I have not seen KAKUTA play much but JOSH and STURRIDGE definitely deserve a chance to prove themself at CHELSEA.

kakuta need a season with promoted team next season (loan)
this is the only chance for him to play week in week out

as for josh, i like him but it's going to be really hard for him as the team is desperate to improve = more new players.

i dont want him to be like gibson (MU) who got the talent to be in the top flight. he's 24 already. in english football 24 does not count as youngster anymore

Josh will earn his place in starting line up next season. You know, if we don't suffer the bad run in November, Josh probably playing a major part of the 2nd half of the season. But unfortunately, CA is desperate to get things right hence he can't afford to put a youngster.

I'm not sure for Kakuta since don't see him mesmerize us while play for us or Fulham.

am afraid we're going for crazy spending.

(i'm ok with important signings but as i said earlier, next year going to be crucial for financial department to met UEFA rules.)

I don't expect much from opponent. I expect us doing good. No matter god mode or not, we must win the match.

We're switching on the form. Imagine a match that Torres and Drogba both scored a brace? Amazzing. tongue.gif

Oh yeah, speaking about form, I am giving Malouda one more chance. I think he's finding his feet back. Rest lampard, play Josh/Benny!

foster is MU agent yo brows.gif

But nah, Foster can be very good when its his day, but when hes off there will be blunders. One of the reason why he cant displace VDS, and one of the reason why we had to let him go.

I guess is the enormous pressure he has when playing for us, like in big games, he is prone to make blunders...but when you are not under that much(not saying that there is none) like when he plays for Birmingham, it took the best out of him...Imo he has every chance to fight for Eng No1 against Hart

too good to be true laugh.gif

i'll be satisfy with 3 pts, carry on our battle to 2nd place. It'll be icing on the cake if Torres get his 1st goal. Actually, i was planning to make a signature of him after score goal, dunno that i had to wait this long.

regarding foster god like mode, hmm dun think we've done enough last time to get through him.

Let's see, Drogba and Torres play together. That would give a huge dilemma to opponent whether to play high or low defensive line. If they play high defensive line, they can cope Drogba but not Torres. But in vice versa, if they play low defensive line, they can cope Torres but not Drogba. And imagine when they put a centre back stick on Torres, how can another ONE centre back deal with our BIG HUGE drogba? It sounds really cool! tongue.gif

Oh no, I might sound obsess with Drogba-Torres combo, but how many times has Carlo started Drogba and Torres both together?
I think only once or twice. Against Liverpool is the only one I can remember. Drogba and Torres need more time to prove that they can work together.

Rest Lampard and Malouda to prepared for weekend math.

Benayoun, or Zhirkov can come on later to replace Kalou / Drogba.

emmm, mcm xde width la bro. Kalou & Drogba is CF, maybe can swap Kalou with Yuri. At least have someone to provide decent crosses. Alex is out injured isn't it? most likely Luiz will partnering JT as usual.

torres should start alongside drogba. since alex and ramires are out injured, it will be david luiz and mikel. i think mikel played very well against west brom, doing what he does best which is breaking opponent's attacking movement in the middle of the park...

Alex injured? Aisehh...then Luiz can come in..no probelm at the back.

No width also no problem...normally also we didnt play with no width. right?

We all want Torres to score...i believe Drogba can create chances for him. Kalou is ok..at least he try to go past player and always get into great position to score. If Anelka can play there (left forward), Drogba can do it too, he can cross at least.

CA can always change...like i said can bring in zhirkov, benayoun, lampard to add extra fire power.

BOTTOM LINE, I want something different from CA. Show us some creativity (tactically i mean)!

hmm, Josh was not feature on the Monday reserve game, wonder he be able to play tomorrow?

As mention before, the Torres and the team trying to hard to have him score, think that if play naturally, he will able to score the goals...

To me, i still think if Drogs back on form and the rest of the players are up to the standard, with Torres making goals, we able to win back the BPL, its hard, but mathematically, its possible... we only have 2 away games, and to me those are the hardest game, if we able to win it, it would be the turn of the table...

Brana is in doubt for tonight's match

But I think Paulo should be able to get the job done based on his performance the last time he came on for us.

KONPEM! as per Ancelotti. I think CA will used 4-3-3 since it working swimmingly against Albion. I reckon Anelka will start alongside Drogba+Malouda. Sadly, that will mean Torres starting on the bench again.

Anelka rested even longer..biggrin.gif

but yeah, he can't drop Drogba due to his form atm. Thus, it's either Torres or Anelka. Hope the former but most likely the latter.
