so how its work bro..
just press that Vol Down+Power only,
and then press both vol down+vol up when that android logo show up.
choose wipe data/reset..
hope its work

i flash back to the 1 i used, luckily everything is back to normal now

anyway i still can make the 2nd init work =.= how long does it takes to boot from 2nd init, mine it juz hang wit black screen n i hav to take off the batt

Salim cannot be lah.. u using custom rom or stock rom for desire?? got overclock?

i have successfully flashed without problems (yet) to miui 1.6.17. it is indeed a nice n pretty different rom from the one i used previously, kinda cannot adpt to it at 1st but it was excitting exploring around n it has got its own miui market of themes.

if u r having force close issues from this rom, probably u have flashed the chinese version which i did from xda too, but after i tried flashing it over again provided by miui-us fully english converted, it works without force close so far.

Scot i just change to miui yesterday from stock ass rom. trust me custom rom is more powerful than shit stock froyo. make your phone more worthy

i told the seller that my defy camera auto focus not working n he replied "i dont know no customer complain this problem bro just format can fix this problem"

i hang on 2nd init boot... how long will it takes to boot from 2nd init?? so i flash back to 2.2

try flash back to stock Official SEA, then start from zero.
if follow guide nicely should be no problem

and for safety sake.. i still suggest 2nd init 1.4, until newest 2nd init 100% no headache

so i download the 2.2.2 sg n flash wit it, then wipe data n factory reset?

boot in recovery 1st,
wipe data cache,reset factory

then baru flash use RSD Lite (Vol Up+Power)
if not u will stuck at M logo forever
