hm.. but i don't wanna plug it into pc..
so a speaker itself won't do.. and if possible don wan too big / bulky also.. if wan optimized sound quality have to put where in the room? i hope the bigger heavier ones can hide under table or something at the corner then the speakers can put around the room.. does the placement affect the sound surround alot? something like mayb can put data file and play.. usb port / cd etc
Miss, just curious is bass important? As for myself, i prefer to lower the sub and use low vol when i doze off to music.
Im not sure what is the best solution for you, you can consult hifi shop. But i have a rough idea what you can try but you should ask hifi shop if there is better solution.
You dont want to use pc, do you have other source? CD player, Ipod, etc.
I got this idea from my friend's dad's office's reception area. My idea is you buy a cheap integrated amp which able to support 2 zone. eg Cambridge Audio Topaz AM10. Then you get those rear speaker ppl use home theater. eg. Wharfedale Diamond 10.dfs. These speaker are more non directional and give the surround feel of music. You can get 4, but if you worry about the sound, maybe get 2 first. I didnt suggest in wall speakers because im sure you cant and wont make a hole in ur wall/ceiling.. lol This amp is cheap i believe is just 1000+++ not sure but you can get a quote from forumer HTKAKI. You would still need a source, hopefully you got ipod. If you dont like those speaker, maybe you can look into satellite speakers like suggested by E1.
This setup will not have much bass because you dont want bookshelf, your bmb is more of karaoke speaker and is bigger than normal bookshelf. Side note, if you really get 4 speaker on a weak amp, not recommend you drive them to loudly, might spoilt ur amp.
Check out this link for another product called CD receivers, they are cd player with built in amp and can suport pendrive.
http://www.marantz.eu/en/category/cd_receiver/ Please do your own research on what format they can play and expect to pay more for these
