QUOTE(TimDunCan @ Sep 28 2012, 02:16 PM) greetings everyone, We cant tell you which is better cos it all depends on your taste. If you can, you should audition. Preferably with songs you are familiar with and same songs.i am new member in lyn, and want to start my entry level audiophile i have a few qustion here, B&W CM1 compare to Focal little bird, which 1 is better? and can i have an recomendation for hifi set (speaker and amps bundle) ranging between 5-6k thanks. Added on October 4, 2012, 1:54 pmanyone? QUOTE(Kerry1136 @ Oct 11 2012, 10:05 PM) Today pigi Harvey got this fella recommend Yamaha best of all...within budget of 3-4k Err.... on top of the front speaker? Quoted me YHT-473/SPK140/315 for RM3599 Plus he said need to get cables like RM250 then another RM150 for subs cables etc...totaling amount of RM4k....is that reasonable? I also told him my concern about 5.1 because I can't place my back speakers because I can't drill no more so he recommended me to put on top of the front speakers will do since it does auto-calibration. I'm so nooob in this not sure who to believe what not now.... Anywhere else I can look around? |

QUOTE(GI Jie @ May 29 2014, 01:00 AM) Thank you. I wish myself well too but I know it ain't gonna happen. I have auditioned your 2/7 before, i loved it. I heard it with Audio Research gears at the time. Hope you dont mind me chime in a bit. i do agree with the other bros that Marantz 6004 is under powered to drive a 2/7 properly. However, done correctly, it can be fantastic.Anyone out there know of any "non-snobbish" vendors that sells Krell equipment? Perhaps I should wear my Patek this time around instead of my cheap Rolex. Kakakakakakaka Different people have different taste, to some people, Dynaudio is considered slow, but to others, its just right Hope you can get your gear soon. I know the feeling of meeting sellers who are disinterested in me despite cash in hand and ready to spend. |

QUOTE(GI Jie @ May 29 2014, 04:59 PM) Thanks. Yep, the Marantz 6004 is a wee bit under powered which is why I am getting new equipment to drive it. I think nobody wants to sell me those Krells so I might look for something else. Macintosh or maybe Audio Research. Not in a real hurry though... QUOTE(GI Jie @ May 30 2014, 02:57 AM) Hi all, Ivan called back to inform me that he will courier the Krell units to me on Monday and that I can expect them on Tuesday. FINALLY. I will be connecting them to my Dynaudio loudspeakers once I set the system up to check out the sound (after my biz trip to China this weekend). If it sounds ok, I'll skip looking at a pair of new loudspeakers but if not....the Sonus Faber Guarneri looks yummy. How much do they cost anyway? Yes, never rush, take time with ur current set. Take time to get used to it and familiar with the sound before you upgrade. In your case, listen to your new amps, let them run in, get familiar with them, then decide whether you want to upgrade or not from there. The room you put them in is important too. Which Guarneri you are looking at? I googled and seem to be a few model of that series. Perfect Hifi is their dealer. I have listened to Grand Piano a few years ago. Very nice but sound signature is different from Dynaudios. QUOTE(hushymushy @ May 29 2014, 10:39 PM) Rule 1......never make the same mistake after you buy your first set of hifi.....which is 'RUSH' Yes, ur right, ive been dreaming of better amps and the Contour S1.4 since buying my DM 2/8. Budget doesnt allow at this time for any upgrades and i dont have a dedicated room which for them to shine to their true potential too.dlyz is right....dynaudio are fantastic speakers i love them but i also hate them.....coz once i have it......i will anything to make it sound better....hehehehehehe Just for sharing, i have DM2/8 and Audience 122. Amp im using NuForce IA7 V2 but i was told was upgraded to V3 but im not sure which V it actually is. |

Thanks for the lessons. Another question, if one gets a RP3, do they still need to purchase Cartridge and Phono Stage? |
